I can appreciate the refreshing performance provided by Stephanie Panisello. As a voice actor, I’d probably feel greatly appreciative as well as immensely overwhelmed after acquiring such a role, ESPECIALLY knowing that the original VA had portrayed the character since the very beginning of the series! I felt she did the remake of Claire Redfield justice, and I look forward to her future performances as Claire if Capcom continue to use her services. Even so, I feel like Alyson Court would NOT have disappointed her audience if she had reprised her role within the remake! In spite of the casting decisions, she herself has wished the new VA’s the absolute best so I will follow suit. Who knows.....maybe she’ll come back to us 90’s fans in the future, but until then let’s keep an open mind with Stephanie’s interpretation ☺️
They couldn't bring her back sadly due to legal issues involving the voice acting union. Capcom initially asked to bring her back, and Alyson said she'd reprise her role if she could. I still think Stephanie was really good though, and I'd be more than ok with her being the future voice for Claire.

You can tell Stephanie has listened back on all of Alyson's work as the character and tried to be faithful to the original as possible, while still making Claire more modern and young. But as far as who the best Claire is from experience being the character alone. Alyson is still the best Voice Actress for Claire.
Long story short, the localization company hired by capcom didn't want to pay shit to voice actors. Now for the full story: Fans created a petition asking Capcom to bring Allyson back for the RE2 remake. The localization company contacted Alyson's agent, so they intendend to hire her. However, Alyson was unionised: all voice actors in that situation are payed a percentage of the game benefits just as any actor does in a movie. So the localization company decided to hire non-unionised, unknown actors only, and nobody cared because we live in a world where people don't show solidarity to their peers.
I love Allison Court, great for Claire’s age progression. Not a fan of Baker as much, but she was still good. Love Stephanie’s new portrayal. The films are all garbage.

My two favorite Claire voices are indeed Alyson Court first, and Stephanie Panisello as Claire in RE2 Remake. I've always loved Alyson Court's voice most notably as: Lydia Dietz in the animated Beetlejuice series, and Jubilee in the early 90's X-men animated series. What Stephanie Panisello brings to Claire is this...cuteness that I love so much. Not overly bubbly....just the right amount. Stephanie is probably my favorite, but that's just because the RE2 remake has been my big entry into the series. It helps that her voice acting seems much more naturalistic than the more theatrical performances of earlier games, though most of that is a direction thing I suppose.
I grew up with Alyson Court (not literally). When I was a toddler she was on Mister Dressup. When I was a child she was on Big Comfy Couch. When I was a teenager she was in Resident Evil. She’s always been around in my life. ❤️

Let's just be honest here, as much as I loved the RE2 remake, Claire in the RE2 remake was literally the worst incarceration of her yet. She looks and sounds so generic, and she went from being someone who's tough, but laid back and reasonable into an edgy, cringy, bitch who flies off the handle at the littlest situations and drops the F bomb (I have no issue with the word fuck, it's a great word) every 5 seconds as if she has tourette's or something. Her best incarcerations were definitely in the original RE2, Darkside Chronicles and Code: Veronica. I'm just glad that they did Leon, Ada, and Marvin some justice in the remake.

The claire in the remake resonates more of what a 19 year old would sound like in todays world thus, it being a "remake". Granted, the Claire voice in Revelations 2 isn't as good as the other two, Revelations 2 is a good game. I recommend it.

I know this is already a comment others commented, but Alyson Court is the true voice of Claire Redfield.
Alyson Court is the Claire I grew up with and shall always love. Stephanie Panisello did a good job and so did James Baker.
I like Alyson's performance but I really like Bakers in RER2, to me she fits her design and dark rustic feel of R2

Alyson Court IS the voice of Claire Redfield! She was exceptionally great in Degeneration.
It was ali hillis in revelations 2 she did do a great job as an older sounding claire in her 30's
It is such a shame that Alyson Court was not hired, not even considered, in Revelations 2 and RE2R. She’s THE ONLY voice actor in the whole franchise that lasted for more than a decade and they just simply threw her away. It’s these little things that make me think that CAPCOM doesn’t really respect its fans and workers.

Ali Hillis is the voice of Claire in Revelations 2, but she apparently used a pseudonym to skirt some SAG union rules.
I like how all my opinions of the best character voices are popular opinions. I.e the voice of Leon from Re4, the voice of Ada from Re4, and the voice of Claire, A.K.A, Alyson Court.
Alyson Court should voice Claire if she is in RE9 since her character would be older around mid 40’s to early 50’s.

Alyson Court was and is the best Claire Redfield we had for Resident Evil. I like the updated look of her in the Darkside Chronicles, wished they would've kept that look in the remake of RE2, Also, the Voice actress did a great job too in that game.

Stephanie Panisello sounds fine as Claire. But RE2R just fcked her up too much. She sounded like a rebellious girl and her dialogue was 70% swear words which was sooo NOT in character. The thing I loved about Alyson Court the most was in Degeneration when she cursed it catches everyone off but it’s still so in character.

Well, if that really is Ali Hillis, she has her own reason for this. And she is the only one who knows the answer.
And if she doesn´t want to answer this with a "Yes", then we have to accept and respect her choice.
To me, Alyson Court will be the OG but I don't think I could envision Alyson's Claire swearing like she did in the remake.

Let's just be honest here, as much as I loved the RE2 remake, Claire in the RE2 remake was literally the worst incarceration of her yet.
She looks and sounds so generic, and she went from being someone who's tough, but laid back and reasonable into an edgy, cringy, bitch who flies off the handle at the littlest situations and drops the F bomb (I have no issue with the word fuck, it's a great word) every 5 seconds as if she has tourette's or something.
Her best incarcerations were definitely in the original RE2, Darkside Chronicles and Code: Veronica.
I'm just glad that they did Leon, Ada, and Marvin some justice in the remake.
Have you not heard todays millenials? I get people latched on to alyson because shes the original but, she didn't sound 19 before nor would she now. The claire in the remake resonates more of what a 19 year old would sound like in todays world thus, it being a "remake". Games are are targeted to a younger audience now and honestly looking back even i find their dialogue cringey. Maybe an older claire shed be perfect.
@@uprateshoota1514 She was 25 when she first voiced Claire and her voice still sounds mostly the same as she did back then. I think she could still pull it off. Sounded like she still fit the character in Darkside Chronicles. She wasn't much older than 19 then.

She was like a siginture for Claire, whu did they change her voice in re2 remake?! Maybe capcom have plans for the far future.
They changed it because the company that won the bid for RE2 Remake was a non-union company, Capcom did contact Alyson Court and she said she was interested in returning for the role but the company that bought it didn’t want to go with union actors. Aka they don’t have to pay as much to the voice talent.
