Even the simplest tutorials are helpful! A customer and I wanted to see exactly how someone else did a reroot on a bald doll, just to give us a starting point. This video was *perfect*. Thank you so very very much for taking the time to create this. It's much appreciated! ^_^
this makes me wanna try rerouting again! I rerooted a monster high doll one, it just really took me like 3 weeks because I kept giving up.. it’s so time-consuming haha
I have been rerooting awhile, but needed a little education on adding holes. Your video helped me a lot. I just need to add a part line for Prince Charles. Thank you
Omg! First of all I love your accent!😊 And want to thank you for such a great and easy following tutorial! 🥰 I got old Barbie at thrift store, but she doesn’t have much holes for hair in her head and she looks baldy, so I was wondering if I could make some more myself. Now I know I can.😃 Thank a lot!
Old video, but yes it was great help to me. Thank you. I wondered if there was something extra involved for a doll with no hair plugs. I plan to reroot the LA Girl doll and one side is bald. So it'll be a shorter process.
I think she looks beautiful. I was watching something on UA-cam recently on Dr. Phil and they were talking about cultural appropriations and a lot of controversy saying braids are only for black people and it is racism for others to wear braids which is confusing because Native Americans, Chinese, Dutch, Romans, Greeks, Vikings and many other groups have all wore many braid styles for thousands of years. I am trying to root a doll in area she doesn't have hair. Your doll's hair look great thank you.
Thank you! Hmmm... ok. Braids are a technique evident in pretty much every ethnic group's hairstyles. I have never met anyone who considered the wearing of braids by people who are not black racist. However, a French Braid and Box Braids are not the same. They are also not perceived the same. A black woman can be denied access to places or even a job for simply wearing Box Braids. Growing up, many braided hairstyles worn primarily by black woman were deemed ghetto until a white woman decided it was trendy. This remains an issue today. A lot of this discourse is pretty much rooted in people being annoyed at bias, double standards and racism. No one is being persecuted for racism by simply wearing a braided hairstyle. Most people who I've seen receive any backlash online are people who are also mimicking stereotypical "black" behaviour and mannerisms simply because they have Box Braids. You don't have to change your accent or dialect to wear a particular hairstyle. This discourse is also something that is mainly online because I have been out with white friends with braided hairstyles and no one has said anything. I am only one black woman so I can only speak for myself and not all black people. I don't care what anyone chooses to do with their hair as long as they respect and acknowledge the culture of the people they have been inspired by.
thank you so much! i want to try and do this because i recently took all the hair out if a doll in attempt to make it look like a mini me so i can crochet it clothes as my practice doll ill try to do this right now!
There is a name for the type of hair that you removed. Does anyone know what that is. It is on a lot of cheap fuzzy old/antique/retro toys. Moriah Elizabeth just painted over it in her latest video.
I am not familiar with that doll but many doll customisers use boiling hot water to soften the vinyl head, making it easier to remove. Alternatively, you can create a wig for your doll or glue hair wefts directly on to the doll's head/scalp.
Try using a flexible glue like fabric glue and layer it on the split or giant holes. It's hard to explain so I will make a video about it in the future.

Aww, thank you so much! I am glad this video was of help to you and your customer.
Exactly the info I was looking for having a Barbie from the 60ies with only hair around the outer rim
Thank you and what a smoothe voice you have.
Thank you!
Most patient woman in history. Lol great job honey!!
Lol. Thank you!

Three weeks?! Lol. Practice makes perfect but it is definitely time consuming, especially when rerooting a Bratz doll.
It takes me FOREVER! I envy people who can do it in 3-4 HOURS
So much effort + patience. Great vid
Thank you!
I love your art and nail color too 😍
Thank you!
U killed this queen!

Love it! The hair color and the braids. Excellent work! ❤

She looks like the new fashionista doll #123. Did Mattel take a hint from your beautiful creation?
Lol. I don't know. Mattel also used the same doll mould. Hmmm...
SybilCreates Definitely looks the same. I have both fashionistas and their doll just came out.
yeah, same face mold. Such a precious face.
Awesome work!! Do you make custom doll clothes too? I'd love to see how you design and create custom Bratz or Barbie clothing
Thank you!
Good idea but I still have so much to learn.
I like your show its interesting and fun to watch
Thank you!
This is good for some of the MGA guy or gal dolls with buzz cuts.
You're very talented may you show us how to make the rerooting tool in detailed tutorial please
Thank you! I hope to do so one day.
I love it

I'd love to see you try and make a doll wig! Then you could've had her buzz cut and a long style :)
Glad to hear as I am currently working on a few doll wigs! 😊
@@SybilCreates Yes yes yes! Hoping and can't wait for a video on that 😁❤️
Awesome 😎
Thanks!
I have a partline to create for a Stacie doll im rerooting and uuugh. I hate reroots. I just love the final result 😂
How about making videos for custom doll clothes?
Good idea! I'm currently working on something similar...
@@SybilCreates Barbie Extra would be good subjects since they’re all about exaggerated fashion
Can you use it wit hair bundles
I'm sorry, did you mean, can you reroot with hair bundles? If so, yes.
What kind of glue do you use and does it not affect the quality of the head? (Make it too soft or too hard, etc.)
I use fabric glue which is not corrosive.
Cute!
Thanks!
That must have taken a lot of patience and time😃
Yes, most definitely!
Thank you!
I want that doll lol
Beatiful
Thank you!
Please can you display the names of all tools. Thank you so much
You can find everything here: sybilcreates.co.uk/reroot-your-bald-dolls/
Hi have you tried coils on a doll before?
Yes, but I prefer to coil/curl hair after rerooting.
Can I also try this but with a doll that has no painted on hair I mean a different doll
Yes, you can. This method should work with most fashion dolls.
I've done this with an integrity toy doll using the knot method...it took for ever.
Wow. I can imagine. I don't have the patience for the knot method.
What if your dolls head can't come off I have a kingstate Barbie doll?
I am not familiar with that doll but many doll customisers use boiling hot water to soften the vinyl head, making it easier to remove. Alternatively, you can create a wig for your doll or glue hair wefts directly on to the doll's head/scalp.
How do we fix the doll if the hair plugs are split or the holes are gigantic?
Try using a flexible glue like fabric glue and layer it on the split or giant holes. It's hard to explain so I will make a video about it in the future.
Is that braiding hair?
Yes.
Isn't it just rooting because the doll didn't really have real hair I mean she did have hair but it's just painted on
Yes, technically, but "reroot" is the keyword most commonly used by those searching for a solution via UA-cam.
I’m so annoyed I sell dolls online and I bought some to re do but it had so many bald spots it was annoying twelve dollars for a nearly bald doll
I know the feeling. Manufacturers are trying to cut costs; even the general quality of a doll is pretty poor these days.
Ha ganja doll
You need patience??? Aw man.... I have everything but that 😅
Lol.
