- A rare short song by Joe Duplantier, of Gojira. I wanted to share this with Gojira fans because it is really an amazing song. Credits and Respects to Joe. This had been up on youtube for a long time but now I can't find it anywhere. It actually was posted with 2 other songs- the original version of The Wild Healer, and one which didn't stand out as well as this one, but was kind of interesting industrial sounding music, and from my understanding, were all recorded on the street somewhere in New York, by the sounds of it, Joe was busking from what I remember reading? Perhaps someone can correct me or has the other songs.

The base melody is very reminiscent of the extra outro on The Way Of All Flesh
I think this was the inspiration for "trails"
The melody is the same and the signing is similar in a way
I've never been too interested in solo material from metal band members as I tend to find their best work is nearly always done within the band itself.
With that said: I would be very bummed out if Joe retires without releasing a full length solo with more stuff like that. I'd love to see what kind of avant-garde project he could cook up with that brain of his c:

i didn't know this dude's name and clicked the video hoping for a cover of the ridiculous Chris Dane Owens song. still kinda disappointed it isn't, but this is a super intriguing sound and gojira rules

Whoa this is awesome, someone should ask joe about this song for more information. I had no idea that he made a solo track, I was only aware that Mario made some solo music for his 'Alone and Tired' project but was never released.

How do we know this isn’t just some dude that made this
because the original person who posted it was there and had the original demo of Wild Healer from the same recording along with another track, as I said in the description, which came out right before Lenfant Sauvage. He had a bit of a story that went along with it, and you could tell it was Joes voice, and was recorded on the street outside a venue if I remember correctly. Lastly I have found the song on a few different sources, including Last.FM, with the same title etc. along with the radio channel I got it from. So I could ask them too if they have more info on it if it helps validate. But I believe its real after hearing the wild healer demo.

if I remember correctly, the original was posted sometime shortly after the release of The Way Of All Flesh, and I'm just remembering now, the third song was actually a demo for The Wild Healer

this song was on joe du plantier myspace along with 2 others songs if my memorie is correct. he posted them before the way of all flesh was released. the wild healer was the other song and i can’t remember for the third… or even if there was a third to be honest 😅
