Thank you so much for this. I've played as Prot exclusively the last expansions and switched it up to Holy for Shadowlands. Healing is SO much different than it used to be and this really helped me piece some things together that I was struggling with.
It took me a while to figure it out - but 100% agreed. Very similar accent. I miss Mitch. "My fake plants died because I did not pretend to water them."
Literally was thinking about if there is another way to not be having to melee all the time. You good Sir, have brought light to my healer and got a subscriber. Great video and explanation.
Thank you so much for the video guide! I literally just made a paladin 2 days ago and just reached shadowlands content, I havent looked back at my druid or shaman since then xD
Is it possible to be a Holy Paladin without using Crusaider Strike? I do not like to use any attack skill while healing. At least not as mandatory skill but as optional skill that can provide me some Holy Power.
Are you using this build and playstyle for raiding? My guild asked me to switch from Resto Shaman to Holy Paladin and I fail at the melee-battle cleric build and playstyle.
I do but .. this was the first week of raid .. only seeing 5 of the 10 bosses I experimented with another build based off of this one (still caster style of course) will be coming forthwith prolly next week as I get a solid 2 weeks of playing with the new build to make an accurate video.

I played hpal since legion and was a person to experiment with various builds. So far, awakening does seem viable compared to the previous versions of hpal. Im surprised your build does not involve around proccing awakening though, since crusaders might will definitely get you more hpower and thus more WoG or LoD to proc wings.
Thanks for the comment! - I've played Paladins since WOD. I've been around a bit. The awakening talent will proc wings through the use of Word of Glory or Light of Dawn. The talent Divine Purpose makes it so any time you use WOG or LOD then you have a chance to get a free one. Through the liberal use of WOG due to always having holy power banked with using Bestow and Shock on cool down and fast infusion powered flash of lights Vision of Perfection is back !! Remember this is the 'caster' build like I mentioned and not your vanilla Melee Build so Crusaders Might and Strike is not in the 'normal' rotation
im struggling hard, maybe its lack of int on gear but - - the three dungeons ive healed (while levelling as holy) have had MAJOR mana issues and also a tank (pally) outhealed me...
I practice constantly ... pugs .. guild runs .. even before that I practiced in the Proving Grounds via your Class Trainer = do the endless until you get the endless wave 40 achievement then you should be good .. keep your nose up! We healers are the hardest classes in the game to play .. just a couple of us are able to do this!
@@russbakr thanks, i did little to no research before hopping into instant queu - - your guide has opened my eyes to many mistakes already haha, i was basically spamming holy light - - yikes ;P
Which of the mentioned addons allow you to use the character portraits instead of standard frames? Awesome video. I'm considering how best to utilize holy as a backup spec. I've already begun to push venthyr on my protection paladin and was wondering your thoughts on utilizing venthyr for holy since it's my favored for tanking. Thanks! Amazing video.
Thanks for the comment ! If you click the show more in the video descrption it lists most if not all the addons I use. To your question though. The character portraits on my party frames is from ELVUi/BENKIUI. There is a link to my profile for that under the video description. Venthyr tanking on the Prot Paly? Door of Shadows / Ashen Hallow ? Looks cool with an awesome movement ability. I am always a big fan of play what you want. If your not doing world first stuff or Mythic Raiding then any covenant is and will be viable. Just watch out for toxic pugs lookong for specific covenants because they think they are awesome sauce or something.
@@russbakr Thanks! The good news is that my guild is active and non-toxic. I'll be doing mythic and raid content if things go right and have members who are eager to do it with different groups, even less than optimal. Venthyr will be solid additional dps and mobility in raid. It will be a touch weaker in mythic plus, but even without divine toll, the prot pally can hold its own and the added dps and mobility from venthyr will still have value. I can also always swap to kyrian if I decide to really push mythic plus. :) Thanks for the feedback.
@@russbakr hey man great video. also installed this addon but i cant seem to get the unit frames like this. also cant manage to get it in the center. could you tell me how ?

Great guide! I use a very similar talent setup, but I go Beacon of Virtue for M+. I find the burst healing too good to give up, and Glimmer too weak for 5 man content. Ill have to try this rotation you have first, but BoV + Shadowbreaker Lego must be strong (when I can craft it lol)
I always see people sleeping on bestow faith, it really changes the playstyle a lot. No more worrying about wether I can get a crusader strike off in my rotation.
@@russbakr I'm glad I saw this content. As many holy pally CS builds are focusing on versatility now, I still see mastery as ideal for this ranged build - as it allows you to be halfway between ranged dps and tanks and get the full benefit of your mastery. Also, our tank gear makes pretty good healer gear that way, too :)

nice guide! it's so hard to find good hpal guides. keep it up concerning your build, i feel it's super defensive. also in your clipps, you are contributing very little damage. even as a casual player, dmg im m+ really helps getting your keys timed. I guess that's the trade-off: stay save at mid range vs get in the thick of it and do some dmg.
Thanks for the comment ! This build allows me to view the pulls and see where the damage is going. I feel that is more important right now. Then later on when I know all the fights, which packs i can run in and drop some dps to help out. But until then im chilling in the back also because my party doesnt know the pulls yet so they will be making mistakes as well. So I willl have the exta holy power banked and ready to go for their missed interupts or mechanics. But yes in the future adding dps will definately be added.

@@russbakr There shouldn't be something called a ranged build for PvE, you still want to be in melee for consecration, your mastery, crusader strikes and melee hits, especially since you generally spec crusader's might cause you want to be contributing damage as well as getting more holy shocks to benefit your shock barrier.
