The reliance on AI is not a good thing in general in my opinion. If not used to plagiarise your essays, its dependance can reduce your core skills such as grammar, vocabulary, spelling and punctuation which is something you should develop throughout your studies and use them to write clearly and comprehensibly. However, it can be of use when you want to search for particular information and expand your knowledge in it; similar to how you read a concised book.
I agree to an extent - yes, it can reduce some writing skills if heavily used but let's consider things like spelling autocorrect on our phones. Since the introduction of autocorrect, we rely heavily on our devices to check and correct our everyday text. This hasn't made us worse at spelling as a generation. It has simply made us more efficient in sending messages that are well spelt, without the need of hiring copywriters/editors to check it. I think people are scared of AI and therefore jump on the 'we're going to be less intelligent' band wagon. I strongly disagree - it will make us more capable and expand our abilities!
The use of Jenni in an essay will be seen as plagiarism . Or should we change the words or paraphrase in order for it not to be plagiarised . I want to have a good introduction in my next essay and that is why I'm asking . Thank you
For those that are complaining this is not right. It is what it is. You can use this as a helper and still put it in your own words. Use word hippo to change the words. Run it through grammarly premium for plagiarism. Writer’s block is a thing and the requirements to write papers these days is insane. I am a returning adult so these tools are appreciated when Im burnt out from work and need a little nudge.

And let's face it, it won't just be used for a little "nudge", it will be a permanent crutch for you you to use throughout your course whenever you can utilize it. This is where the misunderstanding lies - if you watched my video, I state in MULTIPLE occasions that you should NOT copy/write an essay using an AI tools. Rather use it to support you through tasks that, for example, a supervisor/tutor, would help you with anyway. A lot of people don't have that support so this is a great tool for them!

You realize synthesizing what the AI says isn't actually writing an essay and you are not learning your course study, work, or even the value of how to write. I once orally examined a student on a course work assignment I gave him. He couldn't answer questions related to what he had wrote and submitted. Sadly I gave him an F so that he serves as an example to the rest.
Aaand this is why I hope they do away with essays soon and instead bring back more exams... This makes it unfair to all the people who got a 2.2 or 2.1 by providing their own work and not something that was "levelled up" by AI. Grades are supposed to show your own level. This is just as bad as those kids who have a massive income and pay others to write their papers.
I can see where you're coming from - but, times are changing and the educational landscape looks very different post-2020 lockdowns. Unfortunately, as research shows, grades (regardless of how they are determined) are not a great marker of any individual's level. Exams won't suit all, essays don't suit all - there's no perfect way. At least this method helps students who don't have that support from their educators. I am for it and the way I see it, be resourceful an use what is available to you. If I was looking for an employee to work for me, I wouldn't go for the person that spent all day reading information manually when there was a tool they could have used that would have summarised it in minutes. There's definitely a shift coming and I want to show students how to use these tools ethically.

Good point - if you watched the video in full, I suggest to NEVER copy and rather use it to help with brainstorming, editing or referencing.
What is a 2:2?
A 50-60% grade and a 1st is 70%+
50-59 is 2:2 aka second lower
60-69 is 2:1 aka second upper
70+ is 1:1 aka first class.
