None of us mind listening to a Babymetal song twice in a row - why whoever made these compilations did that I'm not sure - maybe they had so many clips from all the different shows (there were a lot more than two different stages here) and they wanted to use them all. To answer your question, the video clips were from several different shows, the sound was from just one. So do Yui and Moa use backing track ... to a degree yes, but probably a lot less than most people think and they were singing live a lot more and for a lot longer than most people think or give them credit for as well. Personally I do believe they are that good ... can I prove it? No. They may have backing track to help them out during some of the more strenuous parts of the choreo, it is hard to say. Babymetal do have backing track on most of their songs, but that is for additional instruments (synth, piano etc) and additional vocals like growls and the screams Su doesn't do (she does some of them, like in Headbanger for example). In some Su may have pre-recorded some harmonies and in one or two songs there are parts she doesn't sing (or pretend to sing) like when she is behind the mask in Megitsune, but her vocals are otherwise always live.
Correct. I even can remember to have heared an interview where they said that more than 90% Moa and Yui sing is live, so theres only a few short things pre recorded.
I fully concur, they are that good. I think their 'secret' (besides being very talented) is to rehearse, rehearse, rehearse until you have it down and then rehearse some more. And I have heard a sing-along track used very early on for Yui and Moa. But only a few songs and the last performance I can point to that was 2014, and not the entire song, just select lines.
I was lucky enough to hear this song the only time played outside Japan it was awesome. Couple of questions answered. There is a backing track for parts like pianos ect because they not there or like a part in Megitsune where Su gets a mask and does a walk toward front of stage to talk to audience and the opening of Megitsune as well and for Yui and Moa up to Budokan shows used backing tracks with all the choreography they had to do but live from then on At Red Night at Budokan show Yui fell off stage and her vocals stoped while Moa you could still hear . Su is Live and her voice is awesome and yes they are that good . There more than 3 shows in video , Legend s , Tokyo Dome , big fox festival that i could see and vocals from one . No anger here that you asked if Su was live but say it again and we will burn you at the stake for Blasphemy lol . Great reaction look forward to anymore you do of BabyMetal. 🤘🦊🤘
They use backtrack sometimes when performing live. Even the "growl" sound tht we heard in some of their songs are backtrack. Thts normal. Yui/Moa did some singing/screaming live. It depends on d song though. But Su is definitely singing for real.
The first guitar solo was done by Takayoshi Ohmura (One with the electric guitar with a pickguard)... He has a very distinctive style... the other one is Mikio Fujioka (RIP) - he fell while stargazing at an observatory.
This song is one of my favourites. It was only released on the Japanese version of the album, not the international one. Which is a crime, in my opinion.i Particularly love the guitar playing in this one, the solos are fantastic, just a tad short. The speed and energy of the song are awesome, as is the choreography and singing. What could drive someone to create a video that features the song twice in a row is beyond me, though. Since you said you love the dual guitars, here's a treat: ua-cam.com/video/FSB5qR3FK94/v-deo.html . Another fantastic song, it's called "Akatsuki".
@@ollytherock7324 Yes Akatsuki ( another great song) is just Su-Metal singing on her own. (the two girls having a rest). Regarding back track I've noticed in their 2020 shows its just one voice so Moa was singing. Sometimes they use back tracks for the two girls you'd think as they would be knackered doing the dancing. Su-metal is always live but will sing with a lower or higher pitch backing voice on songs to help with the overall sound. Just as you'd do on a record. Except with LIVE SU-Metal vocal as the main attraction. You'll notice it in Akatsuki in sections. Su-metal has a great voice. No Rain No Rainbow (a ballad) is another where she is on her own. If you do that do one with translation or check out the English words first as its a very sad song. Akatsuki with subtitle: ua-cam.com/video/MyiYoNwr1Mo/v-deo.html
I liked this one more than the other songs I've heard so far. The musicianship is phenomenal. Even the electronic elements didn't detract from making this an enjoyable listen. It seems like the guitar work was showcased a little more than the singing and choreography than usual. Su-Metal's voice seems to have improved also (not that there was anything wrong with it before...just seems more mature now). Cheers!
Most of the videos on youtube are from earlier performances because of copyright. Of course they've improved over the years mostly simply with a bigger budget and the maturing of the vocal chords from the girls. But i consider it a trade off because they're so darn cute and energetic in the earlier performances. And a lot of their earlier songs are genius as far as songwriting.
@@Jordan-Ramses > and the maturing of the vocal chords from the girls. Plus for the album production, they seemingly tend to... "brighten up" Suzuka's voice. Really don't know why...
@@steffenjachnow8176 These are one of the last remnants of their J-Pop origins. Everyone does it in J-Pop, unfortunately. Maybe it's a Japanese music industry thing altogether if the "main part" of the band doesn't play their own instruments.
"Ooh, with metal wings gleaming in the moonlight, turn, turn! Flutter and fly away from this world! Continue dancing beyond the seasons! Spread your wings and fly! Sing words of love and let them resound beyond the night!" Hi Olly! Good reaction! "Syncopation" is my favorite BABYMETAL song. This video you reacted to was a fan made compilation (obviously) that took the audio from one of the shows, I'm not sure which, and just put it on top of the video from a bunch of different ones. I have no idea why they put the same song twice in one video though. As for your question, Su (lead singer) has hamonizing backing vocal tracks and almost never lipsyncs except for very specific parts in a couple of songs that would be impossible to reproduce outside of a studio, for example in Syncopation the part where all the instruments stop and there's a high "Ah" that's heavily effected. Stuff like that. Yui and Moa however, unfortunately, very often their vocals are not live and are lipsynced. They did do them live for some shows but there seems to have been a decision to switch them all to tracks. Yui unfortunately left the band in 2018. Moa has an absolutely beautiful voice which we got to hear when Su passed the mic to her during her 20th birthday show "Legend - M" to sing "Headbanger!" and it's a real shame we don't get to hear it live more often.
The reason they mix the shows together in the video is to avoid copyright. Otherwise there would be no live performances of this song on youtube. And that would be a shame.
I don't really understand the question at the end. The audio doesn't change with the concert change. The audio-source is consistent across the video while the video-source switches between shows. There are only a few areas where moimoi (Yui and Moa, the backup singers/dancers) has backtrack, and it's when there's no real singing, just "noise making", like in 4 no Uta there's a "shh" or "shi" sound playing, and it looks like they're saying it, but they're not. I can't think of any other examples of where they're not live singing, although I'm sure there are.
I was lowkey expecting that you would go into the lyrics on this one since you talked about it in the beginning ngl :). To answer to your questions at the end of your video : this is a fan-made compilation with one single audio (I think from Tokyo Dome) of the song overlayed on it. There are songs and/or performances where certain parts are on a backing track. But most of the time the girls do sing it. You're right in the sense that sometimes they will use backing track because the dancing takes too much of their breath away. There are concerts that they made where I believe there was almost no backing track and the girls do very well, even if at times you can hear them getting out of breath from all the dancing around at the same time. Su obviously sings almost everything live. I guess we could dig you a performance where you can see that they do everything live. The problem is those often get blocked lol. They do use elements of backing tracks. In the early days, it was more prominent. If you see a backing band wearing skeleton suits, those are the "Babybones" which are a mime band. The vocals will blend in and out of backing tracks and lip syncing. Su would sing some and mime others. But damn, she was like 14-15 back then. Ever since, Su is almost always live and fucking flawless, bar a few key moments like crazy effects or screams. The supporting girls Yui/Moa would often lip-sync, mostly because they are dancing like crazy and would be out of breath. But they are live sometimes. Finally, there are lots of elements to Babymetals music which can't be performed by the band or the girls. Extra percussion, electronic music samples, additional instruments, extra vocals, etc. That is typically "backing track" stuff used all the time.

Most of Babymetal videos here are compilations of different performances. Because of strict copyright policy, copyright owners request to delete original videos very quickly.
I think, that this is the original Kami band with Mikio Fujioka (RIP). This was the "original" unique sound of the two guitars (with Takayashi Ohmura), Oh on bass and Aoyama on drums. There are so many great musicians in rotation for tours, etc., but for me this group was the golden age of BM. My opinion only.

Unlike many other bands these girls are properly trained singers. Su has been performing one way or another since she was two. Her older sister is also an excellent singer. Taught to breathe properly they can easily handle dancing & singing and they do it better than almost any other band I’ve seen, and I have seen many.
Important: BABYMETAL are the three girls (in this concert). The band, Kami Band is just a support band. This version is a complitaion from several concerts for avoid copyrights I think. There is not official version of Syncopation. Anyway interesant reaction...
I'm sure there are some parts that do use some tracks, because of the effects, but she can sing while jumping and running, they practice their shows a lot. i'm sure it is quite hard on them because of the perfectionist nature of Japanese people.
Nice to have you back on Babymetal. And don't stop, cuz we BM fans actually cannot get enough of them! We love every guy who enjoys our princesses! If ya wanna see how talented they were even back in 2012 watch this from their talent school Sakura Gakuin: ua-cam.com/video/tvjXi6X5EP8/v-deo.html - there are two groups of girls. All BM girls are in the left group. Su is left, Moa 2nd from left and Yui right (black clothes). If you don't smile when watchin that, you're not human!
Yes the dancers do use backtrack about 3 quarters of the time.. which does mean on some songs they do scream live.... I live with it comfortably. The lead singer is one of the better singers I've ever heard live.... She does not use backtrack at all.
> "The whole band in the background... Freaking phenomenal!" They aren't called Kami-Band (Band of Gods) for no reason! > "Are they using backtracks" First: The video you have seen is no real indicator of using backtracks. It's just a fanmade compilation video that uses the audio from their Tokyo Dome show (I believe). Only the video footage is from different performances. But, they are using backtracks for several things. Aside from the obvious reasons (instruments they don't have in the live set) they have partial backtracks for both of the backing singers depending on the actual song to either lifting the load (because of the often pretty intense choreography) or to adding another layer to the backing vocals. For some songs, they even use backtracks for the lead singer to add harmonies to her voice (she then sings in parallel to her own recorded voice). Overall it's very clever made and because of their extreme precision, it works flawlessly.
Do you think Kami-band would have made it without those 3 young ladies out front? Probably not...Metal is not a thing in Japan...its 99% J-pop. Metal Band have to leave Japan to even get to play there music. Dont get me wrong... Kami-Band already stated they wont play for no one else but BabyMetal... the praise they are receiving is more than they had in the last 20 yrs of playing... these men are not performers..they are artists!! Like Bob Ross with a brush to canvas... the best impromptu artists during a live performance ever....period!! What is practiced and what those 3 ladies pull off...Kami-band have to be on there toes.... plus they do it...relentlessly on every song... Someone put those things that count your steps on each leg of that drummer.... frikin marathon man!!! Breaking the stereo type of headbangers....
Do they mime? I don't want to give my opinion as it may make people mad at me, however watch closely and make your own mind up. Babymetal never claim that Yui and Moa sing just scream and dance which is totally real and is enough for me.
Yes, they do mime. But, as already mentioned by Grington300, to a much lesser extent than many people think. And the main reason for the impression that Yui and Moa are not doing their backing vocals live is that the audio for their official live releases is a subject to post-production. If you ever happen to listen to an audience recording of their live show you would be able to hear that they do _a lot_ for real.
Another great reaction. Since you seem be commenting a lot on the band (esp guitars) maybe the next one to suggest (for another complete change of pace) is Rondo of NightMare (With Mischiefs of God Intro) ua-cam.com/video/QxYAcIyk2Co/v-deo.html.
Dude! You're using Beats headphones to review music???? And you don't include the vocals as part of the sound???? Firstly, drop the Beats headphones! They're crap. At LEAST get a half decent Sennheiser headset! Personally, I would use nothing less than a proper Beyerdynanic headset. Secondly, regardless of whether you understand the language, the vocals should always be considered as part of the instrumental ensemble. If the singers cannot deliver, it doesn't matter how good the musical instruments are; and that's irrespective of the language. One of the key factors that draws BABYMETAL fans is the Kawaii factor that the girls offer; and that goes well beyond their image... the way they dress. The way that Su, Moa and Yui delivered their vocals was extremely unique to the band's image. It's something that Kobo counted on, when he created the band. Sadly, Yui is no longer an active member of the band. So, the contrast between what she brought to the table and the current Avengers, is grotesquely obvious. (She was, by far, the best dancer and expressionist of the trio)

@@ollytherock7324 Thanks mate! Yes there is a treasure trove of info, legend and mythology to follow. May you continue down the foxhole of discovery and become a Babymetal fan. Cheers!
The 2 girls are singing too. All 3 of those girls went to school together at an arts school. They played in other pop bands too. SuMetal won Britain got talent. She’s an awesome singer
Nice to see you back on the Babymetal path! Here's a live version of this song from their 2017 Fox Five Festival concerts that I posted on Vimeo as it gets blocked on here. Its HD and HQ sound so enjoy: vimeo.com/402713667
Thank you i just enjoyed it again. Thank was so much fun to listen to again
Most of Babymetal videos here are compilations of different performances. Because of strict copyright policy, copyright owners request to delete original videos very quickly.
Welcome to the Babymetal universe
I think, that this is the original Kami band with Mikio Fujioka (RIP). This was the "original" unique sound of the two guitars (with Takayashi Ohmura), Oh on bass and Aoyama on drums. There are so many great musicians in rotation for tours, etc., but for me this group was the golden age of BM. My opinion only.
The band is known as the Kami Band. They occasionally switch out members. Actually the dude playing the black guitar got killed
What no way??????
Long live the Fox God! 🇯🇵
This is my favorite song overall genres EVER.#2 breakdown.the kami and the highnesses are a team.in NIPPON there are no individual accolades,it's about the TEAM.BEHOLD GREATNESS a KAMIKAZE COMING FROM THE HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN. WAS SO HONORED TO SEE THEM HERE IN VEGAS AFTER SEEING THEM LIVE I CAN TELL YOU WITHOUT PREJUDICE IT WAS THE BEST CONCERT EVER OVERALL. And I'll testify I seen The Best of the Best and NOTHING COMES CLOSE TO MY QUEEN AND HER COURT PERIOD.YAVA no.1 breakdown ever.ナマステ
Simply the best song for me
Unlike many other bands these girls are properly trained singers. Su has been performing one way or another since she was two. Her older sister is also an excellent singer. Taught to breathe properly they can easily handle dancing & singing and they do it better than almost any other band I’ve seen, and I have seen many.
This is one of their guitar-happy songs.
hope you fall in love with SU-METAL
someday and stay BABYMETAL
Important: BABYMETAL are the three girls (in this concert). The band, Kami Band is just a support band. This version is a complitaion from several concerts for avoid copyrights I think. There is not official version of Syncopation. Anyway interesant reaction...
That makes a lot of sense. Copyright issues are big with UA-cam.
I'm sure there are some parts that do use some tracks, because of the effects, but she can sing while jumping and running, they practice their shows a lot. i'm sure it is quite hard on them because of the perfectionist nature of Japanese people.
I feel that the video was changing between shows, but the audio track was the same through out.
Check out the video "The Gathering of Metal Warriors", this is the Kami Band only.
That makes perfect sense thank you.
> "The whole band in the background... Freaking phenomenal!"
They aren't called Kami-Band (Band of Gods) for no reason!
> "Are they using backtracks"
First: The video you have seen is no real indicator of using backtracks.
Somebody give this guy a better headphone with a better soundstage
they use backtracking and click tracks for timing . backtracking is mostly the backup singers parts .
It's called a compilation .Taking various Venus and combing it into a video.
You should put links into your other channels in below your videos
Thank you for the info, I thought I already. Just edited. thank you again.
Congratulations for your upgrade..
thank you i'm so glad to be doing it now.
メタル界に革命を起こす!
Love it!
Are you Persian by any chance
no French/ mix
noice
歌上手い 演奏に負けてない
