Watching these videos will have you thinking about these animals alot ,it will be hard to stop . feeding, giving them water and keeping them check out ,it good you do have love for them , you finding a safe place for them to stay. You are Greater
Dusty, thanks for taking us along on the tour; amazing facilities. It was also fun to see the large herd, and all their calves. Happy birthday to your wife.
No need to apologize for the processing part. If someone is watching and is not good with that part then most likely they are trolls. Thanks for the vid.
Outstanding tour Dustin! Thank you for taking the time to show all of us this great facility and teach us more about the beautiful bisons! Greatly appreciated! Kim from MN! 😊
Cherokee Nation has a few thousand acre ranch with quite a few bison. The ranch is not too far from my house. They started off their herd with bison from Yellowstone.
Don't know how I missed this video, that is a great place and shows the complete side of the story, not just the pretty pictures. Life has reality, it's just part of living. Glad you were able to show so much, thank you for sharing all the interesting information. Best always Rusty.....just stumbled across this wow.
Thank you so much for the tour, it's an amazing ranch & facility. I loved the photos of their bison holding area. I immediately thought of your old dairy cement slab area & could see your holding area looking just like that in your future. It just looks so similar to the area where your cement flooring is & where you plan to have your holding area. Being a teacher, you should think about having a field trip there for your students. What a great place to not only get historical information regarding Native American's but to get a view of a great ranching system as well. I think you'd be a great FFA teacher.
Thank you for a great informative video today! I learned a lot and something few of us would ever have the chance to see. No wonder your channel has grown the way it has in such a short time! You are doing a fantastic job.
That is an amazing place and so well laid out. Now I am hungry bison meatloaf as I can make a good one. Happy Bleated Birthday to your wife and at least you stayed in a nice place for the occasion. Thank you so much for the tour.
Thanks, it was great to see a larger version of your heard of bison and the type of infastruture you will need later on. belated happy birthday to your wife
Nice video, you have teach others about raising bison . Using different supplies, that is nice. You are A Bison Lover and awesome bison teacher . Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family. Thanks for sharing
Hi, you are a great bison lover that loves and take care of your healthy bison. To you and your lovely family have a Wonderful Merry Christmas. Also your pretty dog that can't let you get away from him. It looks great our there.
I enjoy the way you speak and explain things. You make the tour very informative and enjoyable. Just joined your channel coming over from the Arms family channel. You have a very nice family and I enjoy that y'all look out for each other.
I had several packages of very lean, delicious ground bison recently. It was quite a treat and every bit as tasty as any of the best grass-fed all natural Angus. I'm hoping to find some more at the same price very soon. I ate it simply broiled medium rare with only salt. No need of any herbs or spices at all.
Another awesome video 👌 your channel really growing am so happy for you. Your brother-law wearing your shirt today. Tell your wife Happy Birthday 🎂🎈🎉 enjoy. Thanks for sharing
Downstream is a great casino. I always try to see Bison out their dining window but somehow I miss them. I haven't eaten Bison but am eager to try it. Thanks for the tour.
Thank you! I really enjoyed that tour :) I like that orange-colored ramp -- It is asy to clean and (unless it is iced in the winter) less prone to creating a situation where the animal is slipping.
You were in my neck of the woods when you made this video. I live in Quapaw Oklahoma. I get bison to eat from the Quapaw Nation it is a good source of protein and tastes delicious.
What a facility. I think you are getting more comfortable in front of the camera. Stay with it. Love hearing about bison. Had a burger when I was a kid in North Dakota. Black Hills. Love your channel. Are they mean or crazy? Always heard they had no sense. God Bless you and your family and your homestead ♥️🇺🇸
That is a cool set up. Its a great idea to visit other bison facilities to get ideas for yours. Thanks for bringing us along I didn't know that was up there.
Great video Dusty and happy birthday to your wife hope you both had a great day and definitely looks like you did and thanks to Steve for giving you all a tour of their facilities there on the nation that was awful kind of him to spend the day with y'all and show you around that sounds like to have a good facility and a good product and that's great both beef and bison and you're right that's great that bison is in schools for kids to try that's a that's a plus right there well thanks again thanks for sharing I hope you have a great rest of the week
Happy anniversary Dusty. Give the bride of your youth my regards. I know they're not pets, but give it time. My great grandfather was born on the reservation there in Oklahoma. They walked the Trail of Tears. We're not English.
I love field trips, how interesting and fun! Thats a lot of mamas and calves. Beautiful facility, so clean and well maintained. Thanks for sharing. Happy Birthday 🧁 Buffalo Gal, Marissa! 🧁 Make sure you do something nice for her when you get home, dinner and a movie or something. Spa day? Happy wife, 👑 happy life. ❤️
I can tell you I have eaten Bison meat and it is very good and very easy to cook. When you cook bison meat it don't even come close to the amount of grease when you cook regular beef or cow meat. I hope to be able to find another place that sells bison meat. The last place I got some stopped selling it. Some people say when you eat Bison you will never go back to cows again and I think their right. The only other meat that gets even alittle close to it is Angus meat but it still has more grease in it.
I have been there and seen those boson they ate beautiful. I assumed they belonged to tribe. But this was very interesting. Thanks for information. Great video.
I know this is a comment on a long ago post but I just saw the video. And I noticed on their crash gate how they had those tires on the inside of them. Which I think is smart. I'm wondering if you're going to ever do something like that. I see those animals come through bloodied and battered because they just don't want to go through that system and they want to go through that gate and then they hurt themselves but they're they've got those sections of tires as a rubber buffer to help protect the animals from hurting themselves I was just curious if you ever thought about doing something like that. I've only been watching you for like a year now but it's just amazes me and I'm one of your biggest fans. I contribute when I can but just an old lady old disabled lady in my mind I still think of myself not old and disabled so you know I have visions so I can go out there and do that and I was like nope no you can't no you can't you can't even walk out to the car without a cane or your wheelchair so I appreciate all you do and I thank you for your videos for allowing me to see the world around me that I choose to see without actually having to leave my wheelchair. Bless your heart for all you do and I know that maybe where you live bless your heart might be a bad thing to say but where I live it's a good thing to say so I don't mean to insult you at all.
Interesting, we have growers of bison here as well, one right on the edge of Traverse City, Michigan, also up by us south of Mackinac City. Not sure it's native owned. We have Odawa and Chippewa natives in this area. Fun to see what you're doing there in Oklahoma.
This was really interesting. I've never had bison meat before; but, many years ago, I had what is called locally, beefalo, which is a bison/beef cross meat.
i have some young cousins who are teachers so i know how hard it is. love that you are raising bison. keep up the good work. have you ever used a raspberry pi computer they work great in school, i gave 2 of them to my local school which i graduated from 50 years ago this year
When I lived in Oklahoma, had to be over 50 years ago first time I ate 'buffalo burgers' was at a place near Miami OK (right off the Turnpike)... It was sort of a 'tourist trap' with a museum and some side shows... Wonder if it's still around? After that mom couldn't find bison in Oklahoma City area and I didn't eat bison for maybe another 20 years. She'd ask the butchers and they'd just look at her funny.
You are talking about buffalo ranch. The original was sold and has been reopened as a convenience store/gas station. They do have a few head of bison. But unfortunately no pony rides or wandering peacocks...loved going there as a kid and taking my son when he was little.
That cage on the front of the shute is the most important part. You cannot pull the handle fast enough to catch them otherwise. As ive said before I would also recommend a tub.
Another very informative video Dusty. I was wondering, on a large facility like that, do they section off a certain number of females and introduce one bull during the breeding season to avoid the bulls fighting and injuring one another?
Amazing tour. So well laid out facility. It's nice to see the Native Americans surviving well with their history of the bison. Thank you
Love you site. Would love to see the Bison at this place in Oklahoma, in person. Maybe some day. Lord willing. Am happy you all got to go see them.
Not to age myself but, when I was in junior high, bison were almost extinct. Now 45 years later they are eating bison in schools. How amazing!!!
Same here
I think you aged a bunch of us! Lol really remarkable the progress that has been made with dedicated good people working hard towards the same goal!
It's great to see clean and safe handling facilities both for the handlers and for the animals. Nice operation Quapaw has set up.
Humane care & clean facilities. That's a big plus for the Quapaw. Very educational. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARISSA🎂🍦🍻

I'm amazed how clean both the place and Bison are. No molting or burs. Very Well care for.
Cherokee Nation has a few thousand acre ranch with quite a few bison. The ranch is not too far from my house. They started off their herd with bison from Yellowstone.
Awesome seeing Native land being used to produce saleable products that support themselves... That is multi-layer "homesteading".

Man if those bull calves you have turn out looking like the bulls in that herd, you better keep one. Good looking herd.

Another very informative video Dusty. I was wondering, on a large facility like that, do they section off a certain number of females and introduce one bull during the breeding season to avoid the bulls fighting and injuring one another?
I've got to admit. I have never attended a bison social.
Awesome Great job Dusty 😄😄😄 But lets see more of the Animals and less talking ! Lol .. We didn't see much of the bison
It is my hope that grocery stores will carry buffalo meat main stream all the time. Biason meat is so much better for us all to eat.
