- FAN VIDEO no copyright infringement intended. Part of the Ike and Tina Turner Revue, THE IKETTES were hit makers in their own right and provided backup on early Ike and Tina Turner hits. They usually got top billing introduced as The Ike and Tina Turner Revue with The Ikettes. Here they are in The Netherlands in 1971. From the DVD Ike and Tina Turner Live in '71. I have mixed together their two solo performances from the concert. Audio remastered.
Super.
2024 and this music is still playing! What will become of the lives of these talented women?
¡2024 y esta musica sigue sonando! ¿Que será de la vida de estas talentosas mujeres?
They sound superb, stone soul! Band is tight with a barking baritone sax in the back.
Beautiful ladies, and beautiful performance.
The three best ikettes. I don't know their names.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was told: "The small girl (but what a voice) on the left is Esther Jones, middle Vera Hamilton, right Jean Birks." but I was also told that they are "Edna Richardson, Jean Brown and Esther Jones."
@JGLB2012 Edna Richardson isn't part of the set here. These Ikettes are indeed Esther Jones, Vera Hamilton and Jean Brown (L to R).
Esther died in 2006, Vera in 2013 and Jean in 2023. RIP proud ladies.
Thanks for the info
These ladies were Great 🎶💖💖💖🎶🥰💯@@hellochannel6344

When I feel that I’m Blue, I listen to the Ikettes….❤❤
FABULOUS IKETTES ♥️♥️♥️⭐️⭐️⭐️
NAME OF THE IKETTES???
There were many different members during the lifetime of the Ikettes. They even were called the Mirettes for a time. I cannot find information that they are currently formed. Here's a link showing all the of members over the years (and more). www.last.fm/music/The+Ikettes/+wiki
Left: Esther Jones, middle: Vera Hamilton, right : Jean Brown.
I thought the second song was "Pop Goes the Weasel" when it first started.
Too close to not to be a match in my opinion. I think Ike used Pop Goes The Weasel as the intro.
Great version, original from THE SWEET INSPIRATIONS
I love Ikettes ❤❤❤
🤟😄
The live album What You Hear Is What You Get.
Git it.
Must be after Tina left
Ikettes used to come out first. Then Tina would come out.
I think this was the warm-up act.
This is at the end of the show when the audience called for more. Tina came back and sang one more. I think it was 1-2-3.
This is the beginning of the show. The band played “Them Changes” as an instrumental and then “the Ikettes came out and did “Sweet Inspiration”. I have this concert on DVD. It’s an amazing show btw.
Wish Elvis had officially recorded it.He did just one version 20th August 1970,thankfully a member of the audience recorded it.
He sang it live as a compliment to his backup singers, he’d never try to make their song his own. His version was very good .
Thanks for sharing 🥰🎶💖💖💖🎶💯
Thanks for viewing!
