@@KaizenDIYGym it is a great exercise if you can make it work. I have been using two saw horses, a bench, a weight pin, and dip belt to do DIY belt squats.
love this, have an ares 2.0 coming, looking for a belt squat solution. Don't care of rep's current belt squat product, but wondering how I could take advantage of the weight stack/pulley system with bully glyder for quicker load/unload or combining plates and weight stack for additional load. Would love your thoughts
I wonder if the constant tension of the belt pulling you forward in a downward angle affects form in any way; especially if you go heavier? I love your diy stuff. You're an inspiration. From what I gather, it pulling on your lower back forces you not to roll your lower back at least.
Is the top pulley a new product ? I’ve been looking at and experimenting with loads of pulley ideas. Don’t know whether to get a stand alone Lat pull down unit , or get a 3x3 power rack and set up a couple of bully glyders or something else Greetings from Scotland 🏴
@@KaizenDIYGym very cool mate Ive been looking at the slinger and the ups high and other options . As well as glyder type systems and Lat pull-down attachments /low row My brain is melting trying to figure out which direction to go in 😆
What are those pins with the holes? I need them for my DIY fly setup…right now I’m using j-hooks at the top back facing back, 7’ bar on them, and put my pulleys on the bar ends. But it sucks setting them up on chest day
If you wanted to do lat pulldowns , wouldn’t the plates get in the way ? Can the plate pin things that hold the plates be moved to the back of the bully glyder?
You don't have to choose one over the other; it was an honest question....Are there benefits that a belt squat offers that a barbell squat doesn't, and vice versa...@@KaizenDIYGym
One potential perk of this design is that any downward force applied by using the glyder for support just adds to the reissitance. You could still pull yourself forward, but still.
You are definitely the master of DIY belt squats.
I appreciate that. It has sort of become my defacto expertise!

You’ve done some awesome belt squat rigs, but this thing seems so much easier.
It is super easy!
Can you make a 2x2 version next???
Those slide real nice... Wonder if they could be modded into a Smith Machine for a rack?

Ideally you want the cable to pull down directly but it’s challenging to get it perfect in a DIY.
A short rope to the front and and back of the belt, going loosely under the jewels, then tie to that.

Yes, the top pulley is something I’ve developed with F and F Steel to work in conjunction with the Bully Glyder and other similar trolly systems.

The good thing ist, that In this configuration, you can't help yourself by grabbing the "handles"
Where can you get the part that holds the weight?

Yes, there are quite a few different configurations possible. I’ll go through and make videos showing the different ways to set it up.
@@KaizenDIYGym That’s awesome mate
Greetings from Scotland 🏴
So you’re pushing the weight down as you squat?
Nope, gravity takes care of that
@@KaizenDIYGym Sorry, I'm trying to understand the mechanism of your contraption... are you being pulled up as the weight goes down?
Were the pulleys purchased separately from the Glyder?
Yes, I have links to the products in the description of the video.
@@KaizenDIYGym odd. I couldn’t find that, but I found it in a reply you made to another commenter.
Why do a belt squat over a barbell squat?
Why do I have to choose one or the other?

Did you ever thought of making the normal pins for squat bench but with the roller for fast height changes?
That would be super convenient
What’s the name of that pin?

how do they feel? how similar to a rogue rhino?
Pretty damn smooth. I haven’t used a rhino but I’d bet it’s close.
Awesome
Thanks!
Looks good! What is the max weight capacity of the trolly?
500 pounds
@KaizenDIYGym is that trolly for sale or you made it? Whatever it is I need it ..please let me know
