Just found your channel, thankful i did. David hold on to the faith, it's are everything, and are hope. You and your family are in my prayers, God bless you an family. Great video, I cut timber at one time so I get it. Stay safe, Jerry from Ohio
Absolutely great that you are humble enough to say " well that definitely wasn't the way I wanted it to go." and share it with us. Great channel, keep up the awesome work!
Nice work!! Good vids! My last job was with TJ 208D, 383, all 4 new ice chains. 500i with 24 lite and a ms 261, 18 backup. Great saws! Also used an EGO 56v 18" as backup. Tipped a 20" 300' wally and limbed. No prob! Btw i was 71 then. 😊 👊
I teach do not run from stump. Step backward or sideways in escape route, holding saw as shield while watching above etc. Approx 60 % of injuries to loggers are from above. Eye injuries can be the most costly. 🤑😎
What a great video. You are a human machine getting all those logs out . Any chance you could share how you cut your trees and why; and how you set up your chokers when pulling multiple logs. I am genuinely curious and would love to learn. I only cut firewood for my personal use so I have no experience in working in the woods with a chainsaw and working with a skidder. Thanks for sharing Stay safe
I will do my best! I’ll probably do a better skidder video when I’m on flat ground again. It’s extremely difficult on the bank I’m on. Thanks for your comment and curiosity. I’m still learning everyday! Have a blessed day
Well done video and quite the jag of logs also. Do you cut the slash down? Was hoping to see the key cut break away but realize that's another trip and back to the skidder!😅
I do for the most part! I will make sure I get that in the next video I do, it’s tough running up and down the bank all day lol. Thank you! Have a blessed day
Great work. Man, the extra work documenting the work. You're doing really good Bud! I know you will always keep your focus where it must be. We'll figure out how to watch. Take care.......... approximately how far are you from Totowa NJ.? I've got a project to look at there in a few weeks.
Thank you very much! It is a lot of extra work but it is worth it. So many great people like yourself I’ve come across here. I am a long ways from NJ. I’m working in western NY
Been there on the bad wet spots. When I worked for m & k logging we were in a place where we had to put a bunch of tops in a place just to cross. Plus we had a lot of rain. We got it done
@@daveyslogging that's for sure. I went to cut firewood this morning. And it started to rain. Plus my bar messed up on my 066. Glad that I had a spare. But I got my load of wood.
Nice work. I love the way you cut. I cut and sell firewood. Cut for 40 years before I took gol few years ago. Greatly improved my accuracy and safety. Bill Lindoff was the instructor. What county you in I'm guessing Lewis?
It took Soren Erickson's last GOL training,, only one of 15 to take notes. Best thing I ever did as it gave me a plan that no one has topped! R.I.P. Soren 👍👍
PPE saved me from 3 leg cuts and helmet one concussion with severed ear. All would have cost 1000s$ and my first chaps saved a severed patellar tendon which?? Work safe, work smart! Get some FISTA or GOL or ?? training and keep learning and practicing whenever. Now days there are numerous how to vids from Pros. Their the Dudes that wear PPE! Too many yahoos, wannabees and fools setting dangerous examples! 👊👍🤙
I also give credit to Ken Lallamont (sp?) and Tony Deniger (sp?) who I completed a second GOL with as well as several FISTA trainings. Learn something new everytime. 🪵🪓👊
Very good video, just joined your channel. Love the Skidder. Is that all Maple you Cut or is it a Variety of Hardwoods? Ron from the Woodyard in Upstate NY. .

Nice work and excellent chainsaw skills! You make it look easy. Like hearing the Jimmy diesel roar. You don’t hear many of them around any longer.👍
Thank you!
Great video nice little trick for a guy to know at 5:30 …….that ol skidder sounds good echoing through the woods!
Thank you very much
Nice haul for the day. Yes Sir, it would be tough to get back to work after eating lunch in the warm cab of the truck - I'd need a lil cat nap. haha
Thanks! Lol yeah I could of used one
Agree 100%. Load light and go often. Especially on the hillside in soft ground and no frost. Saw is cutting beautiful. Be safe logger.
Thank you!
Looked like a GREAT day to me! SR
Thanks!
New favorite channel ! Keep them coming!
Great to hear! Doing my best lol
Great video as always. Thanks for what you do!!

Wow that’s awesome. Tough work at age 32, let alone 71.
You do a really nice job. It's not always easy working alone.
Thanks! Especially on a bank
Nice job! The ones that got hung up made me pucker a bit just watching! lol
lol I will do a video on that sometime

COOL!!!
Too much chance of tripping if running with saw. 🤞

Thanks! I’ve taken a whole handful of courses with Bill. He’s a great instructor.
Man with the bore cutting, tongue & groove, and axle lock techniques, you must've taken some GOL courses with Bill G.

.
Thanks! I cut a variety of hardwood but been chasing the hard maple lately because the price is up.
nice work ol boy
Thanks!
Yup your log trails look like ours the woods r so muddy and wet still never got a deep enough freeze
I only have one spot that was pretty rough thankfully but that part is done now. Hope you get some weather to freeze up your roads
@daveyslogging hopefully this week they r talking good cold id love to send ya some pictures of our log lot and skid roads right now
Any advice on where to get good cold weather gloves
Hmmm not sure. Caiman gloves are my favorite
Is that a 240TJ?
1988 230A with a 4-53 Detroit and Hercules winch
@@daveyslogging is that line pull 30,000lbs?
No I think it’s around 20,000. My dozer winch is 30k
How many did you cut down this day ???😊
Great video I see you bore cutting is that your preferred way of cutting are is it safer than cutting from the back of your face cut just wondering 👍
It is my preferred way of cutting and yes it makes tree felling a lot safer than a back cut
notice no marked wood no forester?
Private jobs. I mark them if the landowner wants them marked
You’re cutting some nice maple
