this is why Moriarty is one of my favourite villains, he breaks into the Tower of London and the Bank of England and Pentiville Prison, three of the most secure buildings in Britian, EASILY. And the best parts is that he acts so casual about it like its not a challenge

This is the epitome of a perfect villain. Breaking into these security buildings so calm, with a hint of drama. And all of this not to actually steal anything but to make a fool of everyone and to prove to them how they have no idea what's going on in his psycho mind
Moriarty should write a book: "How to Steal the Crown Jewels of Britain and Look Fabulous While You Do It". I know I would read it

I love how Moriarty took his time. No worries , all part of the plan. Brilliant performance. Also I can just picture him eating breakfast that morning thinking " I'm bored..... how should I get sherlock to play?... oh perfect!".

The funny thing is that in this scene he looks like the sort of guy you'd go partying with... until he holds your party up with explosives just to get Sherlock's attention

I've always thought of Moriarty as a sofisticated version of The Joker. He's just so awesome!
I love the bait & switch in this scene, done entirely through filmography and editing. The cuts between Moriarty breaking in and the police response are coded in such a way that you expect the police to arrive to an empty Tower, and then Moriarty surprises us yet again.
No doubt the best well done scene in sherlock...

My favorite thing about this scene is him dancing, and the fact that it wasn't in the script. That was something Andrew Scott came up with on the spot, and it's so perfect!

I must admit, Moriarty is probably one of my favorite villains of all time. He's just so great, an exact replica of Sherlock, just evil. And what hero can really ever defeat himself? Great work, creators!!!

I just found out that Moriarty's sigil is a magpie. They used The Thieving Magpie as his musical theme, here, the seals in the red wax are magpie designs, and at John and Mary's wedding the birds stencilled all over the walls and windows are magpies as well as the bird on the place cards. I think we are about to find out that Mary was involved with Moriarty, as in she was his Moran. Dun dun DUNNNNNN!

The thieving magpie is indeed the perfect song to go along with this. Moffat and Gatiss nailed the second season, especially this episode.

The Thieving Magpie (by Rossini) is one of my favorite pieces of music. Also some fans refer to Jim as the Magpie.
Maybe that is why I love the character of Jim Moriarty so much. Magpie was my first online user name many years ago. And my twins were Heckle and Jeckle online too.
He just singlehandedly ruined everyone's afternoon tea time on that very day. Moriarty, you evil genius.

Insane, extremely clever and awesome. Moriarty is definitely one of my favorite villians.
I have to admit, I know it's been said many times over, but that was one of the most brilliant scenes I've ever seen. The music, the idea, the acting...I could watch that scene thousands of times and still love it. Moriarty is played brilliantly. And to show Lestrade some love too, not our division has now become Lestrade's most well known line.
I feel like if Moriarty ever met the Master it could be the start of either a beautiful friendship or a catastrophic rivalry and I can't decide which
