“ the pivot would pretty much be the first thing to break 9 times out of 10” not starting a fight, but what are you basing this on? I would think the blade would snap before the pivot? This is a mature design and seems that pivot weakness would be well known and corrected by now if that was the case.
Yeah I was completely out of line there, pivots RARELY break. High quality screws have incredible strength. I cant remember exactly what I said in the video but the blade would definitely snap long before the pivot. At the time I considered pivot strength to be an issue of importance but after learning more about it I no longer see it as a point worth talking about. Good catch and thanks for the comment 💯🇺🇲
The radius on the blade /lock interface, is what makes this knife much superior to most linerlock knives on the market, imho,, I should really stop buying knives that are inferior to my blurple S110v Milly,,, Great video, especially the explanations/diagrams of the lock surfaces,, All the very best from across the pond, 🇬🇧
I don’t know if there is a professional way to draw your knife out of your pocket. I have practiced and over the years I have forum day routine. For a tip up knife I place my thumb in front of the knife and use my pointer finger and middle finger to pull the knife up from the outside of my pocket. It places the knife perfectly where I need to have a secure handle on it.. For the tip down I placed my thumb behind a knife on the inside of my pocket and use my first finger and middle finger to pull the knife up making a squeeze. This also puts the knife in perfect possession. Once your pastor club there is no resistance and it works out perfectly. Like I say I don’t know if there is a perfect way to pull your knife but I have reformed my draw so it is most comfortable for me.
The reason I haven’t bought one yet is because they don’t have a good selection of replacement scales. I don’t like that they don’t have any selection to upgrade your Knife. It’s like, one and done.
The obsession people have with tip up carry is annoying. I’ve carried a tip down pm2 for years. No problems. I think the “safety” concerns people have are totally speculation. Tip up or tip down are both fine to me. The position of the clip isn’t a negative to me
I prefer tip down carry as well!. The only downside is that pivot is more exposed (poking out the top of pocket) to the elements if you’re in a dusty/dirty environment
Bug-out-Bag...…..that's for people who DO'NT regularly carry.... For those of us who regularly carry almost everything we need...for most situations...no we don't do Bug-out-bags. Spyderco...on the belt...not in the B-O-B.

I think the mentality of a get home bag is more practical for most folks. How far do you travel from home to work? If things got ugly how are you getting home to your stuff, or loved ones? In my bag I also carry a real first aid kit including a tourniquet (CAT & RAT), & some basics for food, water, shelter (including clothing) as well as copies, & a thumb drive with important documents, & info including maps). It doesn't need to be huge, & can sure save your butt if needed.

@John..18 Absolutely. It's been such a killer design they've hardly had to change a thing over the past 20 years 💯
Great explanation of the lock. Greatly appreciated
Well said Elliott.. definitely go tip down for the bigger blades!
💪 Yep tip down for larger knives is the go. Love the Millie. Framelock version is great too.

Badass video!!!!
What animal puts their phone in the same pocket with their knife?
This animal 😎💯
This animal as well.
Edit: no case for the phone either.
My knife goes in my pocket,,,,, nothing else,, end of story,,, 👍
That’s weird, the Police 4 is longer than the Military and it does tip up just fine. Don’t believe the tip down hype
🤣🤣🤣

What kind of steel?
This one is s90v but the knife itself is available in almost any steel.
Tip down ftw
How nice is that Stider?...should I believe the hype?
I think it's a great knife, I'd wait for the price to go below 500 on the secondary before I get another
Strider smf is the strongest folder I have

That's the point of a bug out bag.... it's not most situations.... 😂
