#americanreacts #morecambeandwise #breakfast Join me as I watch Morecambe and Wise make breakfast. I wish I had someone to make breakfast like this with.
In the 70's, these two ruled UK Saturday night Tv long before the dawn of streaming etc...we only had 3 terrestrial channels back then. So audiences for these guys were huge. Stand out sketches include Singing in the Rain, Shirley Bassey and the classic Mr Preview sketch featuring Andre Previn. Its worth the build up to a brilliant punchline. I quite like their lesser-known 'Starkers & Crutch' a wonderful parody of the 70's US detective show Starsky & Hutch opening credits, but you need to know the real show to fully appreciate its parody. And then there's Eric's famous physical 'paper bag' trick which is so simple, but funny.
Your pronunciation of British names is getting better! When Morecambe and Wise appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show, Sullivan announced them as Morry Camby and Wise.
Absolutely wonderful. Although i remember this sketch almost like it was yesterday, I can't contextualize it with the rest of the show, as to the year and who were the guest stars. Sadly I don't have a tape or DVD and i doubt the BBC Genome would go into detail, as they would only show what the Radio Times stated for that week. It's a nostalgic site to browse through as it fosters great memories of these shows, but also, since the BBC's magazine is the Radio Times, the site goes back to the birth of BBC Radio, which was 1922.
Try the sketches with Shirley Bassey (did the title song for Goldfinger -James Bond) and Andre Previn. Also, there's their version of "Singing in the rain" well worth a look if you haven't seen them before.
Brilliant reaction Chadeo, true laughter and a day uplifter for sure!
Thank you for the kind words

My thought exactly
So funny😂 Great way to start my day👍😊
Glad to help get a Wednesday started
The music was originally, at some point, about a striptease - -taking your clothes off..that's one of the reasons why it's so funny....
I haven't seen a string of sausages for donkey's years.
Morc-humbe and WEISS lol

I hate these people who are so bloody cheerful in the morning. And thems eggs are going to be crunchy!
I never eat breakfast but they were way to happy
@@ChadeoYT I'd have told them to sit down and behave. I can't eat breakfast with all that going on. 😁
Hahaha!
