Hi Chadeo, it’s Mick in the UK. Thank you for reacting to Emily's collaboration with 15 year old Daithi ( pronounced Dor-hee) the Guitarist on Shallow. An excellent collaboration with both giving strong vocals. Daithi is also a multi-instrumentalist, and is exceptional on harmonicas of various kinds. Emily, as we all know, can sing with the best of them, and hasn't made a bad collaboration yet. Not that I would expect her to. So thank you Chadeo for your excellent reaction to this fabulous cover. This has been a favorite of mine for so long. So glad to finally have a live version of it! Love the moment Miyako is done the first part of the piano intro, swings her arms as if to say, now I’m going metal, and goes into the second part of the intro. That entire intro sounds amazing. Also love when she’s done at the piano - she gets up with conviction and switches to guitar so fast. Gotta love her! ❤ What an amazing song!

Great reaction. Although it was BABYMETAL who approached Bloodywood, they had already written the song with BABYMETAL in mind (both bands are fans of the other). - The anime was made by an Indian animation company for the MV - credits are in the description. - There are 3 languages in this song. Bloodywood sang in Hindi, rapped in English. BABYMETAL sang in Japanese and Su-metal's last few lines were in Hindi. Karan Katyar from Bloodywood (I think he is the guitarist and main composer) has posted a very interesting video explaining the songwriting and production processes for this song.

At least we English speaking people can understand this version. Having said that, Emily's Italian version was just as beautiful. Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly" or, like in this song, "patiently". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music compositions, mostly operatic, and different lyrics (the band Renaissance, Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance). But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions. She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration. The MV is made in the style of a rap battle video game. When the album version (Japanese edition) was released, it seemed to be said to be impossible to play live. By the way, at 3:31, 43 was read 'Shi-Sa’ (シーサー). ‘Shisa’ is the guardian god of lions in Okinawa, ans I think a pun that makes the 4 read ‘Shi’ (pronuncing like 'see') and the 3 ‘sa' (pronuncing like 'sir’), but some fans have pointed out that it is a tribute to the late Mikio Fujioka (who was the guitarist for the Eastern Kami Band). Great reaction. We didn't know Su could rap ... even Su didn't know Su could rap.😁 I have 'borrowed' this information (again) - "They talked about 'BxMxC' in an interview. SU-METAL: That was my first rap experience. For most of my recordings up until now, I would sing “la la laa” to create a sort of vocal line, and then lyric writing began based on that. But it was different for this track, they had a backing track and lyrics, and then told me to try rapping. So at first I was still trying to figure it out. In hiphop they call it…it was like…ah, I forget! MOAMETAL: Wasn’t it…f-…fall? SU-METAL: Uh…what was it… KOBAMETAL (who happened to be there): Flow? SU-METAL: Flow! (laughs) To get a feel for the flow, I made a lot of different attempts to figure out what would be good. Like how to descend and ascend in pitch, and which timing would be the best to try the pitch changes. Even for the same phrase I’d try going a little ahead of the beat or a little bit behind it, while keeping the whole track’s balance in mind." BxMxC (the x's are punctuation of course) probably stands for "BABYMETAL Cypher". However, I'm still going with "Bring Moa Chicken". 🍗 Also from an interview, the first question was: Q1: "How’re you feeling now?" Moa: "Hungry! I need fried chickens." There were a lot of fans really didn't like this song when it was released, the autotune and effects they used in the studio threw them off and many didn't think they could or would be able to play it live. Happily they were proved very wrong and Su absolutely kills this live. Next - the live performance of course - either live at Budokan 2021 or live at Legend MM from March 2024.
