I am Okinawan living in Singapore for 27 years I think secret is relaxing life style & food and I think I can not live such a long , cos of stress life here ....
I'm from Okinawa. However, it is said that our younger generation has westernized eating habits. We also started to eat food from many countries. Therefore, it seems that the life span of Okinawans who can live in good health is getting shorter. But my grandmother is over 90 years old. My grandfather is almost 100 years old. My dead grandfather and grandmother passed away at the age of 70 and over.
I live here and can say in general life is simpler in that people overall are very friendly and you don't have to go too far to get your basic needs. The only issue they have now is the modern world has caught up with many of the youth. They eat alot of fried foods and their obesity rate is the highest in Japan. The old Okinawan diet was mainly sweet potatoes and anything they could find in reality. My Okinawan in laws told me the old diet was the 'no food' one back in the '50s.
Yes they consume alot of antioxidant rich foods, fast, move alot and eat little but even if we did the same thing we could live longer some of us but not as long as them. The reason is due to their soils. Their soils are very nutritionally dense and contain trace minerals that's rarely in our 'modern' treated soils
Totally true. If the soil is debased so is the food and food is fuel if all the food was nutritious we wouldn’t need medicine. The food would be our medicine But the food industry and pharmaceutical industry keep making money from our misery because it’s the same families that control it
