Yes, we are from Singapore. Actually, I have a longer version that I will love to do because I have a lot more footages and many interviews of the elderly but the challenges is the translation and the selection of the right talking of the elderly. I will need help for that.
Thank you for creating this documentary! I am part Okinawan and I have just begun learning about the culture. I have learned a lot about Okinawa from a website called The Peace for Okinawa Coalition ( www.peaceforokinawa.org/aboutokinawa.html ). From what I have learned so far, there is an ongoing struggle in Okinawa against Japanese and US imperialism that started when Japan invaded Ryukyu (the name of Okinawa before it was invaded and renamed by Japan). I still have a lot to learn and can only speak from my experience, but I believe that this is a part of Okinawan history that is important to acknowledge especially in regards to the impact on Okinawans health and lonegivity.

Human can develop his body and restore the old body's young structures and functions, and forget about the inevitable death. The human body has powerful recovery mechanisms for this. But no one uses them in the fight against old age and death. Because of this, everyone grows old and dies. - PHYSIOLOGY OF AGING AND REJUVENATING PHYSIOTHERAPY
@@JoseJeuland Aging occurs because science has not explained its physical, naturally scientific, nature. Gerontologists offer a BIOLOGICAL explanation, but biology is a SMALL part of physics. Biologists do not know many things: THE NATURE OF LIFE PROCESSES, they do not know the STRUCTURE of living matter, the vital CHAIN of the organism (beginning, development, completion), according to whose IMAGE and LIKE the human body was created. Biologists are not interested in senile destruction of the human body in order to correct them. They investigate only the single-celled organism and its changes. There are many similarities between these two organisms, but gerontologists do not know this in common. 100 years ago, independent scientists (Lorande Loss Woodruff, Rhoda Erdmann (1879-1947), Alexis Carrel (Nobel laureate), Sergey Metalnikov (1870-1946) established that the cell organism does not contain self-destruction mechanisms. In 2003, this was confirmed by deciphering the GENOME human - the gene for aging and death is absent in the human genetic program. The cell can produce thousands of generations, instead of 50, the Hayflick limit, and the human body can remain in a young form and live much longer, without aging and without dying by the age of 80. But our body needs special help. Nobody helps. Because of this, all people age and die. I can tell all this. I presented my whole theory at two gerontological congresses - 2005, Kiev, Ukraine; 2013, Seoul, Korea. Specialists have no objections, but everyone sells their biological concept/work. All people keep getting old and dying, gerontologists too. - downstate.academia.edu/ValeryChuprin/Papers

Thank you very much dear Roji Oyama. the experience was fantastic. I love Okinawa. It is not translated into other languages but I'm planning to do a longer version of the documentary as a lot of footages were not used yet. ton Francais est tres bien. Merci.
I came here after reading 'IKIGAI'.
Thank you for your message. I hope you enjoyed the video.
Less stress from the hustle and bustle of big cities. More exposure to nature. Consumption of lots of vegetables.
I'm agree - This type of life is very good.
Beautiful documentary!!! Can somebody tell me the author of the music ? please
Thank you very much. I can find for you the author of the music. I bought it from a platform. :)
5 notes played over and over on a piano wanted to make me throw my phone out window. Are u kidding? Horrible music as bad as doc.

Is the narrator from Singapore ? She did a great job
Yes, we are from Singapore. Actually, I have a longer version that I will love to do because I have a lot more footages and many interviews of the elderly but the challenges is the translation and the selection of the right talking of the elderly.
I will need help for that.
Okinawa is calling my name.
Ahahahahah you should go :)
@@JoseJeuland I will. In my head I've been in Okinawa many times over. I can tell it's a place I would absolutely love.
@@DanYellowZena so many things to see, to venture, to enjoy!
Thank you for your message. I'm glad to know that you enjoy learning more about the Okinawa culture. Enjoy :)
I'd love it, if someone could name the background music? and Jose, this documentary is really amazing. thank you :)
Thank you so much Naveen. :)

Jose

Human can develop his body and restore the old body's young structures and functions, and forget about the inevitable death. The human body has powerful recovery mechanisms for this. But no one uses them in the fight against old age and death. Because of this, everyone grows old and dies. - PHYSIOLOGY OF AGING AND REJUVENATING PHYSIOTHERAPY
Yes we are all getting older and some can go further than others.
My Okinawan great-grandma was able to live up to 110 years old.
Hi Kota, it is amazing 110 years old. which part od Okinawa he was living?

Wonderful! I hope to be able to travel over there again.
You demonstrated some interesting things about the Okinawan lives. However, I noticed a complete blackout of their beliefs and traditional religious molding. was there a reason for that? Was it rude to ask them?
Hi, Thank you for your comment. Actually it is the short version of the documentary - I did not finished to edit the long version. Thank you.
Very good video, well done. Background music is very load, makes a distraction to the valuable information the lady is telling.
Thank you I glad you enjoyed the video.

why did you guys subtitle all the english parts even though its perfectly understandable english?
also its not pronounced JO-say, is pronounced HO-say. if you met him, i think he was just being nice in not correcting you, lol still liking the video
Thanks for your message - we subtitled the video because some people are earless and people can watch the video without audio. But thank you for your concern.

Yes i enjoyed the video and music was lovely.
What a tragedy that the US has now built a huge military base there. Although 70% of the people of Okinawa voted against it, it was constructed through excavation over a rare blue coral reef. What is wrong with this world? Someone in government got mighty rich!
