Never a finer rendition of this tune, wish the clip got the whole thing.Elvis was amazing no doubt, but his band in the 70s ,Stamps Quartet and the Sweet Inspirations made the music phenomenal
I actually prefer that other Southern agent Ry Cooder's version of this..But regardless Elvis was fantastic &it was a sad thing that his Health suffered & he was forced to depart these shores prematurely..Long kive his legend..May he R.I.P..
Well, I dated your big sister And took her to a show I went for some candy Along came Jim Dandy And they snuck right out of the door Every time I see your sister Well she's got somebody new She's mean and she's evil Like that old Boll Weevil Guess I'll try my luck with you Well, I used to pull your pigtails And pinch your turned-up nose But you been a growin' And baby, it's been showin' From your head down to your toes Little sister, don't you Little sister, don't you Little sister, don't you kiss me once or twice Then say it's very nice And then you run Little sister, don't you Do what your big sister done
I love Elvis and I love this song. But you can tell the downfall of the King here. He dang near fell off the chair. Someone had to hand him his favorite instrument to play. He was not well. Still love him to death ❤️
Elvis rocked whatever! He had his health issues, but the whole concert was still great. He was on uppers and downers throughout the 60s & 70s, however, he kept things in control most of the time in the early Vegas years, problems started later on when he became bored of the same schedule!
His performances would have been even better if he hadn't been taking prescription drugs, which appears obvious in this video. His sweating, his gait, his mood, they're all symptoms of his drug intake.
He was the BEST!
LOVE the baseline in this song....and the groove is awesome!!
Yes and it hits different live and in rehearsals. Brilliant

Never seen him play the electric guitar before.....baby...
He plays the electric guitar a lot in the 1968 comeback special, if you're interested in seeing him play it more.
The best performance!

1:43 - i wonder what he was waving off??
most probably the piano player
He's looking at little sister, that did what big sister done, ran away! He waved her off, said forget it!
Trying to stop Charlie Hodge from singing along with him, Charlie was always trying to be up there with Elvis.
@@johnodwyer8171 That's not a bad assessment but from what I see- no one was trying to sing along with him..🤷♂️
Whatever it was didn’t make it onto the finished audio, but I’ve wondered that, too.
💜💜💜💜💜💜
What guitar brand was that?
Elvis channelling Tony Joe White
I actually prefer that other Southern agent Ry Cooder's version of this..But regardless Elvis was fantastic &it was a sad thing that his Health suffered & he was forced to depart these shores prematurely..Long kive his legend..May he R.I.P..
What year was this recorded in?
1970
i prefer the studio version
Is this an Elvis song?
Yes
Well, I dated your big sister
And took her to a show
I went for some candy
Along came Jim Dandy
And they snuck right out of the door
Every time I see your sister
Well she's got somebody new
She's mean and she's evil
Like that old Boll Weevil
Guess I'll try my luck with you
Well, I used to pull your pigtails
And pinch your turned-up nose
But you been a growin'
And baby, it's been showin'
From your head down to your toes
Little sister, don't you
Little sister, don't you
Little sister, don't you kiss me once or twice
Then say it's very nice
And then you run
Little sister, don't you
Do what your big sister done
He’s really cranked up on something here. Speed, coke, who knows. Still good. James Burton on guitar is the anchor to all of his good songs !
He’s just tired I think.. his speech in the show is fluent and this is in 1970.. 2 shows a night with full energy isnt easy..
That's good intel about JB
He’s not cranked up on anything here I don’t think. He was overworked and exhausted
He was most likely under the influence of something. It's well documented at this point in his career how many drugs Elvis took daily.
He looks very ok here.
I've seen him 100 times worse than that.
He comes in mean with that E minor and keeps his foot on the gas the whole song.
And the (Drugs) took it all away.
I love Elvis and I love this song. But you can tell the downfall of the King here. He dang near fell off the chair. Someone had to hand him his favorite instrument to play. He was not well. Still love him to death ❤️
Its 72 the best elvis
He looks so tired... Like, give him a break... Sad how this man was used...
He did 2 shows a night every night. He may been tired but he could have been lit. Regardless he still rocked!
Compare this to the 1968 comeback tour just 3 or four years prior and you can see how much he changed. Not putting him down, just pointing it out.
a versao elvis isnt dead é bem melhor.
Sad to say its obvious he's on uppers here, the whole concert is mainly manic.
So so so very sad.....
Elvis rocked whatever! He had his health issues, but the whole concert was still great. He was on uppers and downers throughout the 60s & 70s, however, he kept things in control most of the time in the early Vegas years, problems started later on when he became bored of the same schedule!
