All I wanna say is it looks super lite & the handle/trigger looks comfortable!! At $110 to swap one out every 2 years out of pocket is $55/Season!! Win/win!!! And... I might be a weirdo but, I like the whistling sound😂 Hoping all is well Bud, Dirty Jersey out!!!
I just bought this today for residential use, i had a black and decker electric but its just not cutting it anymore. I was debating a stihl but i figured it would be better to learn maintenance on a 120 trimmer instead of a 300 trimmer. Hopefully it works well!
I got lucky about 3 years ago and found them on sale at our local Walmart for 30 some dollars. Purchased 2 of them. They are designed for residential use but the ones I purchased get used all around the neighborhood and I use them at my other job. For being a cheap made trimmer they have done pretty good. Starting to get some carb issues but they still get the job done.
Hey that's awesome what a great deal. Thanks for watching. More videos coming very very soon. Mine was used for several years commercially. Still running strong. My carb needs cleaned now so it starts a little rough when cold
So I actually LOVE echo trimmers. I've been running them for 5 years and there great. I didn't think I would like this one as much but here's my thoughts.....this trimmer is less than half the price of an echo trimmer, has more power and is 3cc bigger engine than echo. It has a few flaws but parts to fix it and replace are also cheaper. My dealers around me suck so there's no support for echo near me. This trimmer has a 3 year warranty that I'm sure I could just go to customer service and return easily if there was any problems, echo I can not do that. Just my thoughts, hope this helps. Let me know what you go with
A slightly older 2017 curved shaft I'm working on for someone features no clutch, so the drive shaft is engaged at all times (including as you pull-start it). I had the shaft off, thinking the clutch was frozen! It's a pretty harsh unit. Comparable engine size and curved shaft Echo and Stihl I have feel 3X as powerful, though this thing was very cheap and has and will continue to serve its purpose.
That's sounds interesting I'm not used to that kind. This trimmer featured in this video has a bit more top end power than. The smaller echo 225 (that I love) and the stihl equal, so far absolutely loving it for its price....I can't complain to much lol
I have the same unit and originally thought it was a defect. It's actually really convenient sometimes. At idle it stills spins fast enough to cut 8 foot johnson grass with nylon blades
@@jasonmcfarland3696 Yeah I noticed that when testing it. I was getting it running (carb screen clogged, bad fuel lines, and needed adjustment) and changing the head out for a coworker.
Thanks for the video! I've been using a Husq LD128 for about 8 years and it's on its last leg. I couldn't find a new Husq or Stihl that would accept all of my straight shaft attachments as they have a newer connection design. It looks like this WallyWorld trimmer might accept them. I ordered last night and will pick it up today. Do you know if it takes them?
Can you let me know where I can purchase the double spool replacement for this thing. Walmart doesn’t sell it. Amazon doesn’t sell it. It comes with it, but the so called replacements are not compatible. And the one that came with mine broke. Just want to replace it.
Yes actually, that will be in my next video going up tomorrow at 6pm central time. I'll show how to do a complete tuneup on this trimmer including greasing the gearbox
I paid $400 for a commercial John Deere XT170 20 years ago. That trimmer has been used a lot. I wish it had an hour meter. It starts cold second crank every time and has never failed me. It’ll be a sad day if it ever goes down on me. I think my kids will fight over it some day.
The instructions packaged with the trimmer talks about not using it until oil is put in. However, there's no instructions as to where to put the oil. There are two (2) tubs that run together from the fuel tank, one being the color of the fuel and the other the color oil (brown). Where does the oil go, please???
This machine is a 2 stroke engine and you put oil in the gas 50/50 mix. If you bought a 4 stroke unit it will need oil added into the motor and not the gas. If you bought the same one in this video and it's a 2 stroke engine there is only oil mixed into the gas
I had a troy bilt for 12 years and just replaced the carburetor and fuel line and then a year ago I bought one of this and doesn't work anymore I will not buy this again it had probably four hours of use!
Hey I’ve got one had for 3 seasons when I prime it just bubbles not going through line very well where do I get the little screen behind the bulb Please help
Hey, there should be a kit sold at Walmart as well as Amazon I believe. You may need the whole kit with extra hosses and stuff in it but it's always nice to have extra parts lol
That's a great question. As it turns out I have a saw blade for that 😁. I'll give it a try this week and upload a video on it. I'm not sure if the shaft is big enough but we will find out
I always ran the echo 225 because they were very light weight and I did alot of apartment complexes with alot of trimming so it was nice to carry around. Then for the bigger stuff I ran the 2620t pas for all the attached and thicker stuff
The head probably burned out because you're running it with way to much string out of the head now I'm not gonna tell you to put the guard on because I know I would never run it like that but I'd recommend you only have about 5 or 6 inches out each side of the head
That would be correct, I'm using alot more string on these than it can handle. I mow commercially so time is money lol. 16" of string works well for me. I'll continue to lube the gear box and replace heads in order to be the most productive and efficient I can be lol. I actually haven't burned one up since then and I'm still running no gaurd and long strings. However I do make sure there is lube in the gearbox from now on
Lol correct. I still like to point that out to other people looking at this trimmer as I try to give ALL of the pros and cons of products I review. This trimmer is still hands down one of the best trimmers I've ever used
Lmao I do not get paid to talk this up...I wish I did trust me lol. Sorry to hear you had issues with yours. Running this commercially for a few years now and still works great when you use it right and keep up with maintenance like you should
total junk-cheapest made parts and engineering possible....-i bought curved shaft hypertough-started having carburetor issue on 3rd tank of gas-took back to walmart-and traded up to the str8 shaft(slightly higher $)-...again-running issues/loss of power on 3rd tank of fresh gas-will be taking it back due to highly unsatisfactory operation of purchase -dont waste your time folks
I've had the hyper tough 25cc gas weed whacker for now 4 years. great lil engine! if I recall I think MTD makes engines for the hyper tough.
That is what I remember as well
Thanks for watching
More videos coming very very soon 😁
Have you greased the gears as mentioned in the video? If so, how often?

I am considering buying one I think I might but I also really like the echo trimmers.

Don't waste your time but if when you can get it started and running its ok but go another route

Looks like the same engine as my old Ryobi gas trimmer. They solid.
Yep they are almost 100% the same as ryobi from what I was seeing. Loved this trimmer for it's price

Do a video on how to grease the gear box
Yes actually, that will be in my next video going up tomorrow at 6pm central time. I'll show how to do a complete tuneup on this trimmer including greasing the gearbox
What brush blades will fit this trimmer??
Can you change or have the option to put a different blade?
Great video!! Did you think black diamond string 105 will fit on the head of this hyper tough? Thank you!
I believe this trimmer is only good for the .95 line....however you can change the head very easily and put .105 in it
@@JonsDailyHustle Thank you for the answer Sir

That's awesome. I love putting hour meters on my trimmers, it's nice to know exactly how many hours they are getting before they go down
Lv mine it has lasted hell of season beat this thing to death it wont die
Yep same here. I beat mine for 3 years and still running
Does this trimmer use the .095size line?
What size string
Can you do a video on how to change the stock head with a Echo 400 ? I have tried on mine and it doesn’t work
The instructions packaged with the trimmer talks about not using it until oil is put in. However, there's no instructions as to where to put the oil. This looks identical to the homelite design. They're cheaper but super solid
Yep, very similar

I have got 2 of these and with both of them the muffler screws come loose within the first 5 uses. What do I need to do ?
Add a drop of Red loctite. To the threads. Also known as thread locker. I also have 2 and did this with both of them
Hey I’ve got one had for 3 seasons when I prime it just bubbles not going through line very well where do I get the little screen behind the bulb

Unsure how to balance the throttle if it cut off on its one . Something about small d tool
I would like to know is it strong enough to put saw blade on it
That's a great question. As it turns out I have a saw blade for that 😁. I'll give it a try this week and upload a video on it. I'm not sure if the shaft is big enough but we will find out
may have to get one to try lol
I totally recommend it, even as a back up trimmer if you can look past the few imperfections it has, it's great
What kind of echo trimmers would you recommend?
I always ran the echo 225 because they were very light weight and I did alot of apartment complexes with alot of trimming so it was nice to carry around. Then for the bigger stuff I ran the 2620t pas for all the attached and thicker stuff
Nice video dude
@Zero Turn Lawn Care thanks my man I appreciate it 😁
3:29 Lol, that's what she said!
Can't beat the price 🤷
Nope, for the price this trimmer has been amazing tbh
I just got this at Walmart for $47 dollars and it was $148 It was on clearance.
Yep you can find great deals on this trimmer well worth it

😂😂😂😂
There just for home light work is all
Just don’t over load it 😢
Just here for some tips on how to keep the string in with out cutting it short or tying it dwn
The second concern only applies to u most people are only 5"9 not a not a lot of 6"1 grass cutting giants around
Lol correct. I still like to point that out to other people looking at this trimmer as I try to give ALL of the pros and cons of products I review. This trimmer is still hands down one of the best trimmers I've ever used
Actually it doesn’t only apply to him.
I bought the same model. It was a piece of junk. This guy gets paid for hyping the product. Don't buy it!
Lmao I do not get paid to talk this up...I wish I did trust me lol. Sorry to hear you had issues with yours. Running this commercially for a few years now and still works great when you use it right and keep up with maintenance like you should

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with it. I've been running my commercially for several years now and it's still going strong
You have an email address
What is a good replacement trimmer head for it?
They actually sell one on Amazon. I personally use the echo quick feed head on mine
