Thanks for the video. This is rig is candidate for a new rig for me so appreciate the information. Interested to see the difference with the CW-USB and CW-LSB as discussed. 73's
New Comment: Do you have a listing of your preferred CW settings? I ask because I seem too have gotten a setting wrong on 15m. When I am keying the TX is now different from the RX. I have checked that the SPL is off. I am thinking of a FACTORY RESET. That's why I'm asking about a "master" setting list.
I was always thinking about doing this .. And then I realize how many menu settings there are. I want to make a spreadsheet. What frequency difference are you seeing? And is your Clarifier setting at zero?
CW has become my favorite mode. Thank you for this video! I had been operating FT8 for a few minutes, and when returning to CW I was unable to send. I found out that the Scope had been enabled. Must have been a mistake. Do you know why the scope would have disabled the CW function? As soon as the Scope was disabled the CW returned. I like your 23 WPM! I have moved from 15 to 17 WPM. It'll take a little while, but this setting is still so new that it sounds like greased lightning. vy 73 de David AE4LH
I had a conversation with a long time CW op about semi-brk and full QSK. I like full brk because I like to know when someone is keying or tuning on my signal but I set it to semi thinking it's better not to beat up the keying relays. He made a great point about ragchew. When you're having a ragchew on SSB or FM it's a back and forth conversation. You're not gonna say or ask 5-10 things at a time and say BTU. With CW he does the same. He's been on CW long enough to do without the formalities of YOU de ME KN in a ragchew. Is this the way it should be done? I don't know but it's HIS way and I like it. 73
There is an item in the menu system for that setting but I don't remember what it is. I don't think that would be your your issue for not being able to transmit though..
The 891 has a bit of a learning curve, so this video is very helpful.
Good info to know. Thanks for posting. The FT-891 is an amazingly versatile little radio. Every HAM should have one. I’ll never part with mine. 73!

GREAT episode......however, it sounded like you were driving as you filmed it??!!
He's not. Look at the reflection of the sky near the cars shifter.
Sorry for the delay... I was in a park for this one.

I think the audio mutes with the scope on. Check out PG 36 in the manual.
Thanks for watching!

How do you do a menu change to get into CWL Mode on 40 meters CW. I can't transmit on 40 meter CW and I believe this may be the problem? Thanks!
There is an item in the menu system for that setting but I don't remember what it is. I don't think that would be your your issue for not being able to transmit though..
Nice vid as always! The mount you use looks like a 3D print, do you have the .stl files posted online anywhere?
I don't have it posted anywhere since I sell it on Etsy, but I'll send it to you!
What is you artsy store name?
So, is BK-IN per band?
Get to the point!
