  • King's Landing is located directly on the pristine waters of Rocks Springs Run, one of three main tributaries that feeds the Wekiva River Basin, a designated National Wild and Scenic River.
You can rent Kayaks and paddle boards at Kings Landing or bring your own like we did.
There are two routes to choose from. If you go left when you leave the launch, that is the wildlife side where you are paddling through a lush tropical hammock.
We didn’t get to see that side since it started to thunder.
If you go right, like we did, you’re paddling through emerald green waters. The emerald cut is the photogenic spot that everyone stops at.
There are stumps under the water and I ate it pretty early on in our journey, so I decided to sit the rest of the way. With gators possibly present, Ryan saw the fear in my eyes as I scrambled to get back up on my board.
Water is always a cool 68-72 degrees. It can take your breath away at times.
The current is pretty strong going up river. Though beautiful, it’s not a leisurely stroll. Definitely stop and take breaks to soak up the beauty around you.
After our paddle boarding adventure we hit up Tootin Otters (love that name) for rewards.
The rain came pouring down while we were there. Going 3 hours north makes a difference. It was a cold rain, not the steamy humid rains we have in Ft. Myers.
