      As an American who has lived in four foreign countries, so it seems that many in the USA think that their way of doing things is always 'correct' and that other places in the world are 'incorrect'. Of course, it's foolish to think this way. But of course, many other countries in the world are more willing to adapt to new things quicker, with the USA lagging behind due to tradition, or fear, or refusal to change.

    For Mother's Day Bob gave me a Toto Washlet and installed it himself. Last month we had an outlet put in. It works, and is quite as we are getting older and the idea of other people washing our behinds when we could use a bidet as we age in place is more appealing. I live in Metro-Atlanta. People from all over the world go through my town of Hiram, home of one long stretch of the Silver Comet Trail. I saw a review with a lady who reviewed the Toto Washlet, and she said that her children and husband line up to use the bidet. I like the idea better than all the toilet paper in septic tanks. Think of all the problems Septic Tanks give when too much toilet paper is flushed?!

      The wand has positive pressure, so nothing gets inside the nozzle. Most bidets, even the cheaper seat adapters, have "self-cleaning" wands where there is a separate flow of water over the outside of the wands before/during/after operation.

    • @Shontaku
      @Shontaku 23 дні тому

      The falling water can’t go on the wand due to the water flow. The wand also self washes after each use. TOTO actually shows this effect at their showrooms.

    Explain how all the germs inside the wand and toilet don’t get washed onto you.

    • @BlownMacTruck
      @BlownMacTruck 23 дні тому +6

      The wand does not “sit” in the toilet water, nor is it exposed at all until it’s in use. It’s also self-cleaning, with an option including having the entire toilet self-clean. Your toilet seat is probably MORE dirty than the wand.
      If that bothers you (and it shouldn’t) you can get a handheld bidet attachment, which never is in the toilet at all.

    • @Shontaku
      @Shontaku 23 дні тому

      Why would there be germs inside the wand? It is only exposed when turned on and water is coming out. It’s not possible for anything to go inside. Also, any decent brand self-flushes the system after every use. You don’t crap on the wand.

    There’s a better solution than a full, separate bidet. If you’ve never used one, well, it’s a bit “indecorous” and inelegant to shift from the toilet to the bidet. A better solution will cost you only $20 and you can mount it to your existing toilet. They transform your existing toilet into something like a Japanese toilet.

      No, you can’t. A basic bidet seat starts at a little over ¥20,000 and anything with more than basic features is around ¥50,000. Higher end, you are looking at ¥150,000. They don’t even have dryers in most seats these days here. They are going backwards on features and have halved the water output.

      @@user-dj1sg3hm5i I have a non-electric bidet, which I find cleans better than the fancy ones because the pressure is much stronger. Since non-electric models have no air dryer, I pad dry with white bamboo baby towels. If the towel is dirty after padding, I give myself another blast. After 2 or 3 blasts everything is clean and the towel is totally white after padding. So I don't use toilet paper but there is friction between my skin and the towel. I will say this setup only works if you have your own laundry with a high temperature "sanitize" cycle

    I have a $150 non-electric bidet and prefer it over the expensive electric ones. The electric ones have nice features like a night light, seat warmer and air dryer; however, the pressure is too soft for me. I like the strong power washing from the non-electric tap connection. Just make sure you spend the extra $100 for a hot and cold bidet, the very cheapest non-electric ones cost more like $50 but are cold only and will freeze your butthole in the winter! The warm water feels amazing though. Definitely life changing!

    • @sfkeepay
      @sfkeepay 23 дні тому +2

      It IS much harder to find a fully electric model with good pressure. Coco makes one, as does Bio Bidet. You have to look for a model that has the so-called “enema” feature to get anywhere near the strength of those hand-held wands. On the plus side, when you do find one, the water will be pre-heated.
      Nevertheless, your point is well-taken.
