This is all so very, very true -- brings tears to my eyes. I love all dogs - all animals, but never, ever have I known anything like the love, devotion, spirit, and silliness that is my Irish Terrier Pookah. They are magical dogs, without question.

I got my Irish terrier 10 years ago. I was in 6th grade. It was the first dog that I ever owned, and trained myself. She was a birthday present, and her name was killian. Sadly on dec 26th she passed away from spinal cancer. It's been really hard, and I miss her a lot.
I loved my first Airedale so much that after she passed over the rainbow bridge I took her ashes for a walk when I went to the places we visited . It took two years before I could let the ashes go to the wind. Only then did I find a new Airedale. And she's just like my Shadow.
Excellent... Got my Irish terrier "Rua" 2weeks ago.. She is such a wee character... Never a dull moment.. These are in my opinion the most beautiful dogs I've ever seen.. God bless..
parents had an Irish before i was born, but i grew up with her. she passed away about two years ago and almost immediately after, we got another one. had her for about 8 months before we decided we absolutely needed another one. they are the best things in my life right now and they are just so adorable!
The big terriers are all wonderful dogs. I've had two Airedales and can't imagine a life without one. Loyal, funny, intelligent, beautiful, companionable. There isn't a single positive attribute they don't seen to have. And they smell good too. Over the millennia, humankind has made dogs to be what we wanted. These dogs , in my eyes, are the ultimate in what our relationship with the dog world can be. If you're not sure that you can handle or really want a dog, please don't adopt a terrier. They're too good for that.
I came to Irish Terriers late in life,when I retired. I lost my beautiful girl Ceitidh some three months ago. Before her was Ceildh. My big regret being that I did not have enough time I envy those who have had them all their lives..All I can say is my life has been incredibly richened by these lovely girls. Truly wonderful companions. See you again sweethearts. D M
I have my second Irish terrier, a shy-but-sweet little girl named Willow. Before her, I had my dream dog, Clyde. Loved us unconditionally and howled when he was happy.
I love this film, Lucy captures the essence of the Irish Terriers perfectly. Irish or Orange, as we often refer to, are wonderful creatures, people will never understand, unless they come into contact with the breed. My Bertie is the most sweet, funny, loyal Irish, and incredibly loving, with his remarkable intuition, Bert's is totally in tune with family and all the friends he makes wherever he goes.
Our Irish terrier is named Lucy/Lulu. She's an amazing addition to our very active family. We live in the country and my daughters keep her going as well as she keeps them active. Fetching and chasing are their favorite game. She is protective of them which is a bonus.
Loved this video so much! We have a 4.5 year old, Roger. Truly amazing!! The description of ITs in this film were spot on! I can never describe him the way in which he deserves! He is amazing with our son and it's crazy, but Roger knew when I was going into labor! He wouldn't leave my side and he kept laying just near my stomach. We love him so much. We always laugh and say that he prepared us to be parents to a human child. We love Irish Terriers!

I would love a terrier, I've always admired their spirit and I've been on the fence for some time between the Irish and Airedale, both are great dogs but I think the size of the Irish would be more preferable, once I am no longer renting of course so it will be a long wait but I think this breed would suit me perfectly.
My Roxanne is wonderful, she is a force of both good and evil, lol. I wouldn't have it any other way. They are very mischievous, loyal, curious and I have seen her fo crazy acrobatic shit when you least expect it. She's 1.5 years old. They are not for everyone. Do your research. If you expect an obedient dog from the jump, don't do it. While easily house trained, everything else takes time.
