Thanks for shareing Frida with us, reminds me of my 'Aoife' [prononced Ee-Fah], the joy she gave me and of how much fun Irish terriers are.
I've got to get another one soon
True to it’s nature this girl is agile and full of energy and boy can she run!!! True pleasure for anyone who wants a dog they can have endless fun with
I’m impressed with how well trained she is.
This beautiful video is what convinced us to get an Irish Terrier. We will pick up Rango in early February from the Czech Republic.
Wow that is such a huge compliment! Thank you. I hope you will enjoy it 😊
Rango is an awesome name by the way.
It went great! We had a mini vacation in Germany, drove to the Czech Republic and back and then flew him from Munich to Boston. Just before everything shut down. We love him.
What’s a day like with your I.T? I’m contemplating between the I.T or mini.schnauzer! I’d love to read anything you could provide on what they’re like, should you get one as a first-time dog owner, etc
We are very pleased. Very good natured dog! Our “in-tact” male can be a little loud when meeting other dogs while on the leash. Off leash he will play hard with other dogs until we catch him. He is not as interested in playing fetch like our other dog was. However, he will chase and loves to be chased. At home and after being exercised he is very calm. And every time I come home after being gone for 3 days I’m always impressed with his stunning good looks. He does need to be stripped (“plucked”) every 4 months or so. It’ll be IT’s from now on for us. Hope this helps. Good luck!
terriers rule! Liked it!
We love Irish Terriers. We live in Nashvile, Tennessee and have a 3 year old male named Finn. He is a great dog. Smart, loving and stubborn. Lol
Where did you get Finn? I would love to have an Irish Terrier and I cannot find a breeder in middle TN!!!
We got Finn from an outstanding breeder, Leopard Horse Ranch in Ava, MO. Evelyn loves and cares for her animals and her dogs have excellent pedigrees!
Had an Irish for nearly 14 years. Had to say goodbye to him last year and this video bought me so much joy❤️ miss him so much.
I can only Imagine what this must be Like...
But I'm glad you could enjoy this 😊
We said goodbye to our 15-year old, Guinness, last month. It was really great to see this video. Kind of like watching him come back to life. Thank you.
your Frieda is adorable.............I want an Irish Terrier so badly, can't wait till my situation will allow it.
happy dog with happy owners
This dog is soo cute 😍🐶
Thanks
What a fantastic dog...cute, fit, and smart.
I have Irish terrier named Bruce! We live in Alaska. Sweet smart affectation terrier 🥰🐕
Irish sind etwas ganz besonderes 👍
Awe they are so cute
This is so beautifully filmed I could watch that all day. A wonderful pop and a super green, gorgeous yard (where do you, guys live?)!
@@JensUhlmannOfficial Beautiful location! I hope Frida is doing well! :)
Oh Gott, ich liebe dieses Video. (super Musikauswahl) oh, ich hätte auch so gerne einen irischen Terrier💕
🧡
Very nice !
LOVELY
Nice garden
She's lovely. WHere dd you get her?
If I’ll ever get dog like Frida I think I’ll name him Max
it looks beautiful to me in all aspects, where did you adopt it?
Best IT video I’ve seen! Nicely done.
I got nervous when Frida spotted the horse. Do you ever feel she’s going to takeoff in the woods ignoring verbal commands?
Where is this?
Thank you very much :)
When she was younger she would take off sometimes but nowadays she disobeys verbal commands rarely.
This is in western Germany
@@JensUhlmannOfficial Thanks. Good to hear. I’m considering an IT or a pair and one of my main concerns is not being able to have them off lead.
You are blessed to have such a beautiful area nearby.
@@onedirection3510 I am not the expert here, Frida is my sister's dog so I cannot speak out of my own experience. An IT is not the easiest dog to train but it's definitely worth it :)
Used to have one of those dogs sadly he died a few months back at the age of 15 ❤
Hi everyone! How are your IT with other dogs?
Geiler Hund :)
I have a Irish called Tess
Love em to bits
I want one
Old blackie having hard time keeping up
I want a Irish Terrier so bad but they're not available in India :(
Great video, how old is Frida at the end of this video?
She's 8 months old at the end. More information are in the description
How did you find Frida training wise
We have just got Lenny (@irish.terrier.lenny) and wouldn’t mind some tips !
Hello :-) Frida is my first dog so this is not an expert opinion by any means :-D She is now two years old and the training continues. The IT is quite sensitive even when they often appear to be tough. So one needs to be careful with "punishment". Frida is always eager to learn, food/treats help a lot, shes always hungry (which is why you also have to careful not to overfeed. They will just eat and eat). Training seems to go easy when there are no distractions. In the dog training classes she had a very hard time to concentrate because she wanted to greet other dogs and owners and play with them.
However her mother, aunt and sister are rescue dogs so I guess it just depends on how much time and effort you actually put into the training ;-) Frida works with teenagers of different ages on a regular basis and does a wonderful job with that. I feel that if your dog trusts you they learn much easier (walking over fallen trees and bridges, metal strair cases, taking the train/bus). Expose Lenny to many different things (noises, movements, smells, animals, etc but also staying with other people overnight) when he is still young so he can become more confident with unfamiliar situations. In the forest it can be a bit tricky because she definitely has a hunting instinct but now I'm able to stop her even if shes a few metres away from me. But at certain times or areas i just put her on the leash to be sure we're not disturbing the wildlife. But: an Irish Terrier is definitely much more independent and not always entirely focused on the owner (unlike Retrievers for example)
Training classes can be very good, ok or even very bad. Its not always that obvious in the beginning. And as a first time owner I didnt have the confidence in the bginning to just say: I don't agree with what you're saying/doing and I would like to do this differently. And in the puppy class I always felt that people disapproved of the "terrier" who plays a bit more rough. Oh well. (I guess some dog owners are just like some parents: they all have an opinion about everything :-p)
All in all I'm very glad I have this little easy going, energetic and cute companion :-) But training never stops and the Irish Terrier stays quite childish (especially in play situations) for a long time. If not even forever :-D Enjoy your new little family member!
Hi, Can I possibly use clips of your video to a video project I am working on? Thanks a lot!
Hi, what kind of video project is it?
If you mark me as the source and link to my video so that it's recognisable as my work in your video you're free to use it :)
Looking for reputable breeders. I live in Wisconsin
Evelyn at Leopard Horse Ranch in Ava, MO is a wonderful breeder with amazing dogs.
Yo gh
The one I had used to kill every cat he could sink his teeth into and used to bury them in the garden
That (killing things, vermin) was one of the main traits they were originally bred for.
Frida acts as if each new day is the best day of her life. Too Fun!
