I love you thinking out loud. It really helps see how you come up with your ideas. This is my first time watching you but definitely won't be the last. Keep up the great videos!
the original Verstappen was better. Your double exposure did not feel blended in at all, but rather just stuck on top of his body and masked to it. They key to those double exposures is matching the lighting and using the highlights and shadows to your advantage, not every photo will work. You need the natural transition of light to shadow in the image of the person, Verstappen in this case, to act as you blend and then drop your second photo, the car, in that shadow area and it will feel a ton more natural. The real issue is I'm not sure the double exposure really works here, his racing suite has a lot going on and even though you composition made the car more prominent, it felt half baked. I think the better solution would have been to keep the original composition, i.e. having Verstappen be a bit smaller, but use the car photo behind him with a low opacity, blended into the texture.
7:00 In my opinion I don't think the white space is the main issue here. The problem is that the car photo is clipped to the driver's shape cutout. Which [to me] looks boring. As seen in the Pinterest double exposure examples, you can have elements of the second image extend beyond the main shape. In this case, allowing the car to extend beyond the driver’s shape could have improved the effect. That creates a more interesting silhouette. Anyway that's my 2 cents.
Yes! Most wouldn't opt to clip when approaching double exposure, but if we did it that way, then we aren't true to the artists intentions and we change the design. So best of both worlds was to zoom to allow less negative space around the cut out just enough to where you can still see this effect succeed and not change our friends design!
As someone who is yet to explore photoshop and uses Canva/Picsart religiously, this video has really helped me figure out what I’ve been doing both right and wrong. Hoping to start photoshop soon
For what reason is there a french flag on the Verstappen Poster 😭😭 Verstappen is Dutch the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix is in Italy Red Bull Racing is based in the UK Red Bull is from Austria ??? xDD
@@SesoHQ I think yours turned out well! Love the Luka graphic also! As a Designer, definitely learned something from you on drop shadows. Appreciate the tip on reworking the contrast first! Keep up the great content!
i think its weird that you used a car with an American flag on it. As a designer i do look for the most acurate representation. In this case looking for a photo of the actual race. The design is fleeky tho. Such a good job!
Hey I know the flag, didn't know why it was there, and sometimes my words fumble. OFC i know it's grand "pri", i played granturismo from age like 3-12 okayyy. While I record these Composition comes first, then considering what it looks like a few more steps ahead, then im talking. Talking is auto pilot haha

Ben had the Red Bull and Oracle logo on the suit which was intentional and you had neither. I think that’s huge in F1 Racing honestly. Sponsorship
Fair! Im focused on the design tbh I wasn't fact checking. Don't look too far into it or the rabbit whole you get into goes... very far.
