      Hi dear. People misunderstand the use of WD40 for toilets. It doesn’t clean. What it does is prevent fecal skid marks forming in the toilet bowl ... the bowl remains slippery so no brushing needed if used at least once weekly. I don’t know how people ended up making it about cleaning when it’s really about preventing dirt attaching.

    Here is a tip: take that toilet brush and using medium force, shove it in the exit hole about 15 times very quickly. This will reduce the water level. Then, WHATEVER METHOD you choose to clean that water line, the cleaner can sit on the stain with out being diluted by water. Every bit helps!

    • @chuckredd9131

      Shut off the water intake valve, then pour about a gallon of water from a pan fast and it will drop the water level well below the water line.

    I clean the toilet bowl first with any commercial cleaner. Once the bowl is clean, I lightly spray WD 40 around the water line. The oil prevents a scale build up on the bowl at the water line. I do this about once a month. I do not use WD 40 to clean the bowl.

    Underneath the toilet rim is a spot many don't bother with it. It's definitely a spot that gets really dirty from all the flushing , people getting the runs and nirmal everyday use.
    As a housekeeper and Janitorial cleaner. My favorite thing to clean is tiolets, it's a challenge, especially when very ,very dirty. One thing I do struggle with removing is the hard water. Pumice sticks do great on not so much hard water. When there's a build up of it, even as I clean them everyday, it's tough.

      Wrong on all points. Pb Blaster smells horrible. You have obviously never used it. WD40 is NOT a cleaner nor is it an effective penetrant or lubricant. People misuse it all the time mistaking the temporary effects they are seeing. It was initially created as a rust preventative for rocket housings. Then the automotive industry started using it for things like removing moisture from carburetors. The "WD" stands for water displacement. The "40" is how many attempts it took the scientists to get the water displacement properties perfect. So it does not break down rust and corrosion like PB Blaster or Kroil. It's not a cleaner for your toilet. It just helps to remove water from metals and prevent initial flash rust. It's not even meant for long term storage of said metals. It gives you time to put things into service or use, and then they can be properly maintained. Stop believing every idiot on the net. Your understanding is you clearly don't.

    My succession is Tidy bowl cleaner. It has a goose neck nozzle which sprays UNDER the rim, which you totally missed cleaning. It can get nasty up there as all your “new water” comes in there. So you get water scale, lime buildup and yes just pure yuck. So if you don’t clean UP UMDER THE RIM you really aren’t cleaning. Also you should clean the water tank. Yes the park that hold water between flushes. Using the same Tidy bowl or Lime aWay will usually do the job. Lastly at the end of your video you say you make all kinds of video to help women. Excuse me,man here and I’ve always had toilet cleaning detail. It’s not a gender role. I’d appreciate it if you edited the comment you made or at least acknowledge my less than warm & fuzzy response to you “women” comment. It works both ways.

    I don't want to smell WD-40 every time I use the bathroom. I would think the WD might work better after you clean the toilet to keep it clean longer. Actually, I cleaned my chrome fixtures and put Flitz polish on them and I just wipe them dry after splashing water while washing and they look like new after months.

    • @ferengiprofiteer9145
      @ferengiprofiteer9145 3 роки тому +2

      That's not the water supply. The toilet bowl is the beginning of the sewer.
      The water supply is in the top of the tank. It and the tank have air gaps separating them from the bowl.
      The only thing safer would be to flush with a bucket of water into the bowl.

    I used a knife with a stright blade on the toilet and it work perfectly, be very careful. This was that thick brown scale that's about as strong as the ceramic. Then did the shower stall that I could not clean before this. It worked. It was like layers of yellow soap scum, a bit of work but nothing else worked. But it did not get the bathtub ring off. Here is the winning strategy for cleaning any toilet no matter how bad it is. Use a pumice stone for anything above the water level, then pour in some muriatic acid and wait about an hour then flush. The toilet will be like brand new.

      @@CasiodorusRex Ok I may try that. I just know when I use it around my pool that stuff makes a acid smoke cloud and I have to make sure I am upwind from it, but maybe in a toilet there is enough water to prevent that. I did watch another video where a lady flushed her toilet to get the sides wet, then threw powdered laundry detergent on the sides and waited 15 minutes, then just used a toilet brush on it and it came right off. I may try that first and if it is too much work I will try the muratic acid. Of course the acid will only clean at or below the water line.

      This lady toilet is remarkably clean. Why waste good muriatic acid cleaning it. She could have easily cleaned it with some soap n water and a brush. Yes muriatic acid is great and within minutes you can see massive results on hard scale. Drain all water in the bowl first. Use precautions of course.

    How do you clean black mold from the underside of the seat? I'm a woman, and first time I cleaned my new toilet and lifted the seat, I found black mold baked into the paint on the underside because the water must spray it when I flush. Any tips? I didn't think I'd have these problems now that I'm separated from my husband. Actually, I didn't have this problem when my husband and I were together. The seat must not have had a painted underside. I was shocked the first time I went to clean my new toilet.

    I'm sorry to see you can't even use a spray can. Obviously the product should be used in order to cover any sign of dirt or limescale and then let it act ... then with the toilet brush just give it a light scratch away AND I KNOW THAT IT WORKS. Unless the lady's toilet is ... bho I have no idea.
