From personal experience, I strongly advise against using WD40 to clean windscreen wipers. When I next had to use my wipers in the rain, it left a fine film of oil and water on the glass that would not clear and I had a really hard time seeing through it. Very scary and I would never do it again. Thx from Australia!!
it should be used for what it was designed for. It's boring that for years you've been seeing a lot of nonsense about what things this drug can be used for. Not true!
30:49 I strongly advise against using WD40 on your toilet if you have a septic tank or cesspool. A film will form on the surface which will greatly reduce the contents from rotting out. The question is what is the impact on wastewater treatment even if you don't have a septic tank. We were taught in primary school that one drop of petroleum oil will contaminate 30,000 litres of water.
WD 40 on break disks ... not a good idea at all, protect them before spraying on wheels, as well as the ruber of the tires. Do not put on greased fast mechanisms too, because it will remove the grease, the mechnisms will be lubrificate for a short time, then you'll have to reuse WD40 , ever and ever on short delays ... put grease back where there was some, best idea (you can use WD 40 to clean the mechanism, then dry it and put some new grease). The rest seems ok, except for the smell ...
WD40 is extremely toxic: you don't want it anywhere near your living space, cookware, or clothing. All of these uses are terrible and borderline dangerous.
I have used WD40 for many purposes, mainly to enhance the function of metal parts and tools. The stuff is toxic as hell, and it has a strong odour that lingers for hours, sometimes even days. Best not to use it indoors, especially in the kitchen when you are expecting guests, particularly for dinner. I definitely would not use it in the kitchen or for cleaning in general. There are alternative products that are less toxic and odorous and can do the job just as well, if not better.

1. Should we really be spraying hydrocarbons into out toilet??? Isoparaffin is a branched-chain of saturated hydrocarbons derived from petroleum. WD-40 does not have the same properties as gasoline and putting it in your tank could do severe damage to your engine. Don't do it.
You allowed WD to run between the top of the shoe and the sole. Bad idea because WD breaks down glue and your shoes will fall apart, eventually. Just keep it out of the places where glue may be used to fuse the sole to the upper.

WD40 is a kerosene based product and has the main function as water repellent and secondary as label remover. It can also be uses as lubricant and mild(read poor) corrosion remover/inhibitor. That is it. Any other use is pointless and rather destroys stuff not repair them. Will destroy plastic and rubber and will oil stuff(and make them look shiny) not especially clean them!
completely agree. After treating it with universal WD 40, it will actually attract dust and dirt rather than repel it. The exception to the rule is the silicone spray version.
Although WD40 has multiple uses as you point out, this stuff stinks. If you want your house to smell like a garage, go ahead and use it in the home. The smell also lingers until the stuff has completely evaporated. I keep my bicycle in the house and once sprayed the chain with WD40. It took 4 days for the smell to go. Other than the smell, it is great stuff. UK

So you spray the rim, and a cloth over it, and you give it a thumbs up. BUT, you also spray through the rim onto your brake disc, and what effect does that have on braking.??? And you use it on the engine inside and outside of the car. Yes, very nice (FOR A MOMENT), after that it's just dull again.!!! .
Only spray the WD40 (if approved for the part that you are cleaning) by spraying it on to towel, NOT the surfaces of the parts. It maybe a safety issue if you spray the disk brakes on your vehicles. This video is NOT a good example since it may cause you more harm in the long run.
I live near the sea. The salt air can make white goods such as fridges prone to surface rust around otherwise unnoticeable small scratches on the paint. Once a month or so I wipe all the white goods down with WD40 and it prevents surface rust. I do the same to my dark coloured kitchen cupboards, this eliminates the streaking that can be seen when cleaned with conventional surface cleaners. Only a little WD40 on a paper towel is necessary for this. It gives everything a beautiful sheen and repels little flying insects which can be a problem in the summer.
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. I also live near the sea and suffer from these inconveniences, but now I will be able to use the wd 40 without fear of damaging my appliances.

Oh, really? I think even the manufacturer would disagree with, even warn against, some of the uses you recommend. FYI WD-40, which stands for "Water Displacement, 40th formula", was invented in 1953 by Norman B. Larsen, Gordon Dawson, and John B. Gregory, the three founding employees of the Rocket Chemical Company in San Diego, California. The product was originally developed as a rust-prevention solvent and degreaser for the aerospace industry, specifically to protect the outer skin of the Atlas missile from corrosion. After 40 attempts, the chemists finally perfected the water displacing formula, which is still used today. Mostly it is used to removing dirt (but must wipe off completely afterwards), loosening stuck zippers, and displacing moisture (its main and original use). Many of the comments warning against using it on rubber and spongy plastic polymers are correct. And certainly you do not want to use any oil or lubricant of any sort, however light, on brake discs!
WD40 is an Isoparaffin which is a branched-chain of saturated hydrocarbons derived from petroleum. Or, simply put, it's a type of petroleum-derived mineral oil.

Amazing stuff! From wagadugu
Wow, I didn't know wd40 would clean a clean toilet!
What sort of mindset is required to recommend putting WD 40 into the water supply?

WOW I really didn't know that this product was so good!!! Over the toilette surface is amazing! Bravo!
Is this safe for septic?
WD40 is an Isoparaffin which is a branched-chain of saturated hydrocarbons derived from petroleum. Or, simply put, it's a type of petroleum-derived mineral oil.
No, its not safe. It shouldn't be used.
Greetings from Norway!!
I can’t wait to try it on the toilet
