I stream on twitch and I rely HEAVILY on chat for help on what moves I should make next in game LOL
One of the reasons you can't change your character's name mid-game is because your Trainer name gets registered with every Pokemon you catch, so that when you trade a Pokemon, the other player knows who it came from.
4:26 - Don't worry, we've ALL been there. Struggling enough with a nickname that we just say "forget it" and go with a default name.
10:00 - True! If you knew what level Miraidon actually is ... yeah, that Houndoom didn't stand a chance at all.
14:30 - Sprigatito had an advantage against Nemona's Tera Pawmi, because Grass takes half damage from Electric moves -- had you chosen "the duck" you would have received _double_ damage from Electric moves. Pokemon games don't provide you with an in-game type matchups chart: they'll tell you the matchups for _your_ attacks (especially when facing a Pokemon you've battled before), but you have to learn/predict the matchups for _enemy_ attacks (aka. your own Pokemon's weak points) yourself. Of course, for veteran Pokemon players we have the whole chart memorized, but battles really do revolve around picking the best move for each opponent.

The shiny odds aren't actually 1/8192 anymore. They were, from gen 2 to gen 5, but gen 6 and onwards it became 1/4096

SV have a terrific story. I just wish they weren't so buggy. But remember, they *are* JRPGs so skipping the story is ill-advised.

Seeing people play Scarlet and Violet as their first games makes me happy since SV are my favorite games in the franchise believe it or not. Though, the graphics and all that stuff might not be that good, the story is. It actually made me cry at some point (no spoilers). So I really hope you play more and maybe even the DLC too! Especially the DLC since its probably the thing that made SV one of my favorites! I really hope you play more!

@@enqore_pokemon is a nostalgic game, and since the fanbase is made up of adults people will tend to like the older games. I remember back in gen 5 when people would say that gen 1 is the best and that pokemon fell off in gen 5, now the gen 5 audience grew up and they’re saying pokemon peaked in gen 5.

@@tuney7319 I think thats the charm with it tho, your first journey affects how you view the other regions and almost every pokemon or game in existence has someone who has it as their favorite, ppl focus on different things about the games too, shiny hunting, contests, battling, or just casual play throughs, and the fact that the concept of a utopian world based on real locations and having references to culture irl is great, ppl who like bw probably just prefer the more western and distinct style of the game as its the first region to be based on the USA and Ny

(BTW not sure if you know this but some types are immune to attacks completely, like dark can't be hit with psychic, fairy can't be hit by dragon, flying can't be hit by ground, and ghost can't be hit by normal or fighting)

@@enqore_ tbh grinding in this game is nowhere near as bad as the older games😂 cuz of rare and XP candies (which boost ur XP without having to battle) that u can find on the ground, and the random trainer battles are optional, so u can always go back to them if u need more levels.

I'm glad you're giving Pokemon a chance. I'm just sorry missed Pokemon games in their golden age from the 90's to early 2010's. The mainline series has been in a slow decline since Pokemon Sword and Shield.

I just realized the missed opportunity to make the games from Gen 9 Pokémon rose and Pokémon violet.
You can press y when hovering over a move and it will show you what the move does, so you can know if it is a status move rather than an attacking move, or if it has any side effect

Finding shinies is so easy in this game! Make a sandwich with two herba mystica (Special herbs you find with pepper and can find in giant crystals) Knock out at least 40 pokemons in a group or do pic-nic resets; place the pic-nic then remove it and look for the shiny; repeat if you don't see it.
Yesterday, it took me 14 minutes to find a shiny Bazoucan and 5 to find a shiny Rockruff. I am so happy to get theses beautiful pokemons as friends 🥰

Cool video my first Pokémon game was in gen 4 😂😂so this is gonna be interesting I had fun with the story and game but after that yeah let not go there. Awesome that this is your first region hope you play what to come or what become before. Not gonna lie though looking back this and Onepiece and beyblade is hard fanbase to get into with all the things in it. The rival Nemona was cool but we need voice acting in it att some point. I could go on forever hope you try other games or like wacth trailer of them all

Shiny odds are more or less boosted to 1 in 4,096 in the newer games. And many things boost those odds more. the number you looked up is the older odds. I know why to much about this series and the boosted odds are a very commonly known change they made.
It's always so fun to see people getting into Pokemon and honestly Violet is a really solid one to start with!
I just wanted to say that your commentary and Mikka's editing were absolutely on point - y'all are hilarious and I hope you keep playing! Definitely don't be afraid to look up type matchups or pokemon names if you get confused - you're gonna have a better time if you know what you're up against vs throwing moves at it to see what works (the purists will say it's better to go in blind, but they also have decades of previous pokemon knowledge vs someone who's just starting. Plus all of us look up things at one point or another) Super excited to see how you feel about some of the later stuff in the game!.

if u ever decide to play another pokemon game, i recommend Pokemon Black and White and its sequels Black 2 and White 2! Its considered the peak of 2DS pokemon games pushing the DS to its extent

You have to remember pokemon games have only been 3D since 2013 that’s pretty recent compared to other games like Zelda that have been 3D since the 90s and early 2000s so obviously they’re gonna be behind Mixed with the fact that They can’t delay the game because main console for only 5 years compared to Zelda since n64
The franchise was designed so that every aspect of it has a symbiotic relationship
The games can’t release without the anime the merch and the manga and the manga the merch and the anime can’t release without the games
And it’s about time you all understand that by now
They are doing their best trying to balance the games with the tcg and the anime
The Pokémon franchise is like a game of jenga
If you move one thing it all falls apart
They are doing the best they can sorry I’m the only one who appreciates that
Unless you want them to hypothetically release the Gen 10 anime and then wait till the anime gets to Gen 15 to release the Gen 10 games
they are still learning as they go so y’all gotta be patient and give them time to catch up
Their partnership with take two they’ll apply what they learn back into Pokémon so that’s good
You have to remember gamefreak are inexperienced with developing open world games so of course there will be some trial and error the more they work on and improve the game and do future games the better at it they’ll get

The games can’t release without the anime the merch and the manga and the manga the merch and the anime can’t release without the games
And it’s about time you all understand that by now
They are doing their best trying to balance the games with the tcg and the anime
The Pokémon franchise is like a game of jenga
If you move one thing it all falls apart

When you watch the anime it makes u wanna play the game and vice versa so they are companion pieces designed to be experienced together for a complete experience
They choose to live in their own bubble and be one of a kind and not imitate what everyone else does and they have my respect for that
the og games bugs are looked back on as charming
