Great flanking maneuver by Chris on the Arc Troopers by the Wookies in Round One. The Wookie list was very Revenge of the Sithish! Loved Padme's shooting. Very deadly! Good game. This channel...IS...the best gaming channel. Whether a new ep or a rerun, I learn something new and you all make it fun to watch. You all do good work! Pins and needles till the next report. Take care!
Awesome video as usual guys, and lovely dedication. Worth noting that for next time, exemplar allows Padme to share her tokens with any friendly unit - even the tank! So all those dodge tokens she can generate from quick thinking + her normal action can go a long way in keeping the tank alive - especially when r2d2 can heal it up! A nice play is Calculate Odds to Padme, then Padme for Quick Thinking. Makes everything around her pretty darn tanky :) Cant wait for the next video!
Thanks for watching and commenting! As you probably know, Chris likes his Wookies. It was great to see him and all the other Wookie fans out there get a boost with the new rules update.
No matter how this coronavirus time don t let us play, we can always count on you and your friend for good batrep, with different list and scenario ! Ty!
@32:00 I keep a small Vehicle Resilience cheat sheet from the RRG that I tuck it in my army list somewhere, even if I'm not running a vehicle, its a nice reference to have. Just snipped the one section on what Damaged, Disabled, and Weapon Disrupted do and printed it out. For Weapons Disrupted from the RRG: "The player’s opponent chooses one of that unit’s weapons and a weapon disrupted token is placed on the corresponding card. When adding that weapon to an attack pool, only half its dice can be added (of any color, rounding up)." Chris was close, but I think he said the vehicle's owner chooses, and half dice +one.
It was fun to watch, but with so much great stuff out there right now I am not sure I want to buy another two boxes of Wookies. The option is certainly viable for the big wookie fans out there though!
Chris ‘Uncanny Lucky’ Peterson! Great game and so good to see a rebalance in the game. Clones getting so many tokens first turn was not good for the game. Rebels viable again!
Awesome battle report as always! :D It was a shame that the game was so uneven. I've felt like this wasn't Josh best day ;) Moving tank forward so early on was a very bad decision, but even more so, not abusing r2+padme+tank synergy! r2 feeds tokens to padme and padme quick thinks, which gives tank 2 dodges per turn and any needed aims. It can reliably stay at range 4 and take it's own dodge so it could have very well dodged a shot from wookies, han or chewbacca. From my experience, when enemy goes hard on tank in this configuration, it usually means an easy win for the republic just because tank can take such horrendous amount of damage per turn.
@@TheChrispy771 I guess it is the thing for some people xd I think I've only lost like 1 on-stream game in my competitive gaming but some people just have it another way around. Anyhow - keep them battle reports coming! :D
You almoust always want to calculate to padme. Dont forget also tank can use her tokens and tank can dodge crits. In round two you should start with padme and take quick thinking and stanby. In that case you would hit heavy those running wookies
Chris “The Crit Lumberjack” Peterson now goes into demolition?!? Geesh!! Lol. I love seeing the tanks on the battle field but they all get so focused on that it almost makes them not worth the cost.
I think Josh would be the first to say that he sent his tank in unsupported. But like Chris said in an earlier episode, you live or die with your big pieces in this game. In this case Chris rolled too many Crits for the Saber to survive.
@@warcorgi3623 when Engineers for the Republic come out, I suspect we might see more Republic vehicles on the battlefield. I'm already planning a Field Commander Tank with 3 more support vehicles and a crew of engineers behind them. Let the vehicles do the heavy lifting, and the Engineers keep em running.
Been LOVING this channel since I got into SWL recently. Question, I haven't been able to find a definitive answer regarding whether you use surge tokens in the core sets or just in clone set battles. Thanks!
Thanks for the question. There are a number of ways that units from the original two factions can gain access to surge tokens. Both Force Guidance and Agressive Tactics come to mind. Before we got the Clone Wars starter sets for the channel, we actually used panic token to represent surge tokens. Hope that helps!
Great game guys. I love seeing the wookies back on the table. Actually, can you explain the standby rules? Granted I haven't played much, but I thought you could only make 1 attack per turn? So if you use your attack action on your Act, then you couldnt attack with standby afterwards (except for command card/ability shenanigans).
Exactly as Josh P said. The Clones are special as they can spend other units' tokens allowing them to use standby multiple times in a turn. They are the only faction that has this ability.
When I am writing this I am looking at deployment so havenot watched the full report yet. However, it is going to be interesting to see how the woodies will try and get across all that open terrain when the tanks stand so perfectly. I have always said that we need more LOS blockers in the middle area of the board so close range troops actually can advance. Let's see if this plays out as I think, if it does it will be really boring. So hoping for a surprise.
So, I was surprised and wrong in what I thought would happen. Thoufht the ra k and clones would just have mowed down the rebels while they crossed the open terrain. Awsome. I think the Republic could have used the fact that the rebels shoot the tank so much and stepped out more and shoot with the clones more, they rolled few dice in this game. But that is the benefit of hindsight. Awsome game as usual. I still stand by my opinion that we should have more LOS blockers in the middle.
Thanks Peter. We do run a lot of different terrain set ups and try to vary it from game to game. Sometimes we have that big line of sight blocker in the middle, sometimes not. As far as the Clones' battle plan went, Josh says it wasn't his proudest moment. He is a newer player and made an early mistake which Chris punished pretty brutally. Overall, lots of lessons to pull from this one.
Hey! I live in Arkansas about 5 hours from St. Louis. Do you ever do games with randoms? I love your channel and think it’d be rad to be in one of the vids if available! My list isn’t the best but it’s still fun.
We specialize in not the best but fun list! And yes, we are open to having guests on the channel. Hit me up on Facebook and we will see if we can work something out.
Yeah, there was a bit of confusion. Chewie has impact 1 pierce 1. With Outmanuever the Tank can cancel critical results with dodge tokens. The Tank should have used the two dodge tokens to cancel the two critical results, using Outmanuever. That would have left him two hits to defend against, one converts to a critical because of Chewie's Impact 1 (the wound would go through, even if you defend against it, because Chewie has Pierce 1) and the other hit goes away due to armor. It seemed like everyone got hung up on "either way you're getting two" but that wasn't necessarily the case. In those moments it's a good idea to slow down, check your cards/keywords, and walk through those order of operations and keywords. Mistakes happen, even in battle reports. The best thing is that we can continue to learn. :)
That tank attack around the 29 minute mark. If he could use dodges to cancel crits... Why didn't he use the two dodges to cancel the two crits. Then impact one would have turned a hit to a crit, and the other hit wouldn't have beat armor. Then he'd have only had to roll for one save. Right?
For some reason it happens most when the camera is on! Josh just destroyed a vehicle list of mine last week rolling almost 1/4 dice as crits throughout an entire skirmish game :p
My sets came from friends of the channel who sent them as gifts. Josh got his tokens from an Etsy store. I will ask him to post a link for you, but you can get some really nice ones at the Fifth Trooper's webstore. thefifthtrooper.com/product/order-tokens-notorious-scoundrels-edition/
Micheal: “so, chris, how many wookies do you want for this list?”
Chris: *”yes”*
Lol! My favorite comment today!
Awesome. I actually just ran the exact same rebel list last week. I love these new Wookie rules. Having peirce on their melee helps so much.
