Mrarcher15 yeah I completely understand if myke doesn’t want to do it. I kinda feel for fantano, because he said he’s making a top 100 for the 2010’s. That will be super hard to make 😂
I'm glad you turned around with Clipping they are amazing. Here's to hoping the same thing can happen with Ratking "So It Goes..." still one of the most eclectic hip hop records I've heard in a while. But that's just me lol, love your videos none the less. Edit: Holy shit and Royalty!?!?! That's awesome, I really liked that record. And I feel has aged a lot better than the other older projects. It was such a fun listen with a lot of cool guests.
I remember the Kid Cudi review. It was really mature of you to take it down. In fact, it's really mature of you to take back those things about Lupe too. Good on you man.
Yeah, I wasn't really a fan of how much of a meme that album became. I mean, people obviously have the right to hate the album, but the negativity towards it was just so intense and even personal. Like I said, essentially a meme. A lot of respect to Myke for re-calibrating and approaching it with respect. A lot of music reviewers would not have done the same, specially when you consider the popularity and money it was generating.
Glad you are enjoying clipping more! I do enjoy them and the themes and of course the noise samples. Also for anyone curious they have a whats in my bag episode and they talk about some great fun old school hip hop and some really good harsh noise and experimental recs
Haha man that was hilarious at the end when you said "you guys probably don't notice, but I do" nah man I definitely notice and appreciate it because I can tell you won't sacrifice your integrity or how you really feel but at the same time you want to improve to never go off the deep end and be unnecessarily cruel. This video was great, thank you for always being around Myke
Ever since that Life is Good review I was hoping you would change your mind on it since I really like that album a lot, and I'm glad that was the case. Cool stuff man.
I'm glad you came around on Lupe comments and reach out to him he's definitely a honest, intelligent guy I wholeheartedly agree with that. He's got incredible albums to me have stand test of time. & Royalty I thought it contains cool guest features Gambino sounded amazing with good lines and age hell of a lot more than his first project older previous works from artist of his caliber.
That's fucking wild I was re-watching some old DEHH videos yesterday and stumbled across the Life is Good review and I was straight up confused by how much you didn't like the album! I've always loved that album, there are songs on there I skip but the songs I like are fucking amazing. I know I shouldn't care what you think but it's nice to know that you changed your mind on that one haha Ps. It's incredibly big of you to admit when you are wrong. Most people are incapable of this simple act, it doesn't take much and it says a lot about you as a person. Good example to set.
Great video Myke!! It takes a lot for a man to admit when he's wrong, especially on a public online platform for everyone to see, so I commend you for that. Next time, try to get feefo up there so he can admit that he was wrong about the New Krit album and Rico Nasty's XXL cypher freestyle.
I'm glad you changed your mind on Clipping. I thought their first album was pretty good and I really disagreed with you on Daveed Diggs' rhymes when I watched DEHH's review on Clipping.
thats funny I was thinking about your clipping critique the other day coincidentally. I thought it was kinda a weird criticism and its interesting to hear your opinion change and why lol.
It's always difficult to admit your wrongdoings. But I think it's always important to critically evaluate your own self once in a while and how you approach situations.
Yo I was just listening to Clipping's new single and went back to their self-titled album and was thinking about y'all review of it! Crazy ironic. I always feel great to go back and find joy in something you previously didn't care for.
Myke, as far as Life is Good, what is your opinion on the song "Cherry Wine?". I remember most of you guys didn't like that song, was wondering if your opinion changed.
Im glad you brought up the Kid Cudi one. It was preeeeeeeeetty mean but I appreciate you owning up to it. Oddly enough, that review actually got me to appreciate the album, years later. 😁😁😁
In the past I recall you saying you think Tarantino sucks and I've always been curious to hear a more detailed opinion from you on him and his films. Have you ever expanded on this in a video or ever cared to?
I don’t know, Myke. It’s one thing to be wrong on what you thought of someone’s music, but I don’t think you need to apologize for maybe hurting someone’s feelings. If an artist gets that hurt from reading/watching a review, they shouldn’t read/watch reviews. Nice of you to mention these past reviews, but you being in the moment is one of the reasons I’ve loved watching you over the years.
It nice to see you grow up and gives me hope some of my more asshole traits will smooth out lol. I’ve been watching DEHH since year 1. I can see the change lol.
Yes, finally someone who also fucks with Untitled! I see people act like it's a meh album but he had some really great songs on there like Fried Chicken with Busta. Also Royalty was my intro to Chano way back when. He killed it on that feature. Sad to see what happened with My Big Day.
Gotta give you props for going back and watching old reviews in order to correct yourself. That probably takes a bit of time. Also, that Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven video was great lol. I apologize for being that guy who likes Asshole Myke. I agree that getting personal is unnecessary, but I thought it was more so satirical than spiteful.
Lupe is so deep. People don't even realize that the cool is about the devil and the unholy Trinity. Kick Push isn't about slate boarding. His extended metaphor game is unparalleled
I respect your retrospective apology to Lupe but to me he is a bit delusional. It's an opinion. The coverage you guys did about Lupe around 2011 is what made me subscribe to DEHH. It was refreshing to see people calling out his lack of music quality post "The Cool " Album & some of his antics outside of music. I like Lupe a lot but he is very good at playing the victim & his fans & supporters excuse him of almost anything because he's a "Smart guy". It's good to see that he's kept the quality of music up the last few years & i feel like the criticisms made Lupe to do better.
Or maybe he knows a lot more about his life and his situation than the rest of us do so we should stop making judgment calls on things we know very little about. Those criticisms weren't about the lack of quality in his music. I feel those statements were valid. But calling him delusional is just some typical internet nonsense where we're speaking on shit with very little information just cuz we can. And I feel like that's the kinda shit that I want nothing to do with anymore. Our consumption of someone's music doesn't give us the right to unfairly criticize their personality.
@@mykectown The antics that Lupe put out online during that period was up to the public to judge. Many people (including myself) signed the online petition so he could put Lasers out. He had tons of support. I feel he started unfairly criticizing his fanbase because of the negative reaction to Lasers. That's when people started questioning his motivation & whether Atlantic were pushing Lupe to "Change his sound". Lupe was publicly showing his frustrations with Atlantic on twitter. It's not like people dug up his contract or anything. To me that's the example of him playing victim, when the speculation about his career was self inflicted. That's him being delusional. I know you felt the criticisms were harsh & i respect that but at the time a lot of things Lupe was doing was up to interpretation. That's why I Subscribed to DEHH.

Number 1: Lil Moseys cypher
I wonder who'd win in a fight, 18 year old straight edge C town or Raging alcoholic C town?
I really like how you are willing to admit your wrongs on a video. That’s something I feel like a lot of people have a hard time doing these days.
Would you consider making a top 25 or 50 favorite albums of the decade, at the end of the year.
That sounds stressful as f

Also, thank you for making two whole videos out of my question!
This video, along with the last one on this topic, are really cool to see. Not many ppl are willing to admit their mistakes. You're a cool dude, Myke.

THANK YOU MYKE. I'm glad you saw the light with Life is Good. But Myke I would pay for you to bring back the Cudi review that had me in tears
7:35 "Feefo was 100% right, as he was a lot of times"

I feel like feefo is generally more gracious

bro i dont wanna sound corny but ctown deserves muuuuuch more credit fr..
i love life is good, dope you can appreciate it more now. and speaking on nas, what'd you think about lost tapes 2?
Lost tapes 2 is the worst nas album after nastradamus
Royalty is my second favorite Gambino project. Bc the Internet is my favorite. I don't understand the love for Camp and "EP"
Myke's reaction to Blu's NoYork was funny asf too haha..... myke can you do a rewiew of Blu and OhNo's A Long Red Hot Los Angeles Summer Night?
Literally found out about DEHH through the R O Y A L T Y review.

man what instrumental is in the back?
Yeah like that shirt
love this video it had me laughing
Lupe Fiasco is the God of this rap shit to me right now. Drogas Wave was a masterpiece. Wav Files alone was a magnum opus.
Myke cool video and all but we need to talk about drake
🙏
big if true
Still waiting for the day when Myke admits that he actually really enjoyed Yeezus O.O
It still sucks
