10 rarest Thomas home video releases in my opinion- 10- Thomas and the really brave engines/ tales from the tracks 9- the sampler tapes 8- the blockbuster tapes 7- cassette 2 6- 3 splendid episodes 5- great destinations 4- Australian happy holidays dvd 3- the screener tapes 2- the French/French Canadian tapes 1- single tape series 4 and 5
Fascinating video. Here's hoping more Cassette 2s can be found! As far as 3 Splendid Episodes goes, we know there's 3 or 4 copies in the hands of collectors, and there are at least 2 known copies of single tape S5, but nobody knows if single tape S4 exists or not. Maybe one day it will be found... Thanks for the shoutout about the American Thomas stuff! I was definitely thinking at the time you'd like a complete US collection and my personal philosophy is just collect all the Thomas stuff and figure out storage space later lol. Turns out that doesn't work for most people. I've gotta say, you now have a nice collection with lots of variety. Keep it up!
I have a rare Norwegian special edition somewhere, which consists of episodes 45-67. This could only be bought via a catalogue in 1996-97. This videocassette did not have its own cover.
That was incredible seeing the back on the first 2 videos of Thomas the Tank Engine for the very first time and I never seen the sticker label on the tape before it looks so shiny of the gold despite it is tearing a little bit I do feel sorry for you that you're VCR is not working properly Looks like you're made to have another replacement or otherwise.
This is great and all, Sean, but get the Betamax versions, and then we can talk about bragging rights 🤣 But yeah, pretty sweet releases, and I can absolutely relate to having limited space. You decide to invest in dozens of Simpsons and Pokémon DVDs, and sooner or later, you need to buy a new shelf for them...
@@ThatRetroGuy2005 Laserdisc is probably a stretch. I don't think it did too well in the UK, so it probably wasn't worth the cost to release on that format.
Whoa, you released this quite early! No complaints here though, you're quite an excellent and boastful collector and I'm all here for it, Sean! I'm actually quite jealous you've got these at all, ha ha!
I had all the first 5 Thomas VHS releases. The only ones that have survived and i still own is the first Guild home video Thomas VHS and the yellow boxed Thomas Percy & The Coal Series 2 VHS. I remember my copy of the second Guild home video Thomas VHS got chewed up in our VCR around 1988/1989 so thats long gone. My other Thomas VHS the Blue cover (Percy & Harold) and Red cover (The Deputation) disappeared over the years

Very interesting!
If there was a Thomas museum, I would love to display these
im surprised there isn’t
They should also display the models that ThomasTankMerch and TomsProps have, even if the latter is currently in hiding.
When will you do your 2023 collection
