Sew binding to back side and flip to front. Instead of stitch in the ditch sew it down neatly on the front. Stitches on the back might show a bit but nothing will be missed. You aren’t stitching blind when you do it this way.

A Crayola washable marker - it washes out and often will just rinse out. Thanks for your question!

I think you’re using a crayola marker which really isn’t safe for fabric use.
