Sal I have a question. Is it okay to have a shower curb and bench installed when wall tile is already done. We decided to do a solid stone rather than use the tile on the walls. The new fabricated stone is 3/4 “ thick so it would have to butt up to the tile on walls or I would have to break out and remove the wall tiles that are in the way. This means relying on caulking to keep water out and setting under curb or bench. I thought I could also use a cement all hydraulic cement to set the pieces also to make sure water can go inside. What do you think I should do? Tear out tiles on wall in the way or hydro cement and grout caulking?
A lot of guys do it that way, not my preferred method, but as long as you set it with a high quality mortar and caulk where it meets the tile with 100% silicone, it should be fine.
