The ambience, the pacing, the view, the exchange, the anticipation, the abundance, the grace, we truly are witnessing high art.
And what a beautiful piece of music 🤍
People say this movie was boring..I think this movie was pure genius💜
tanjid s movie was Beautiful. i appreciate Paul Thomas for making this remarkable film.
They must've not watched There Will Be Blood, which isn't boring either, but is similarly paced.
This is all dialogue performance. I favor this over bullshit CGI movies *cough* Marvel movies!
Well, those people who think it's boring should get a helping of Alma's special omelets.
It was one of the LEAST boring movies that I have seen in recent years.
Alma's character the key to the whole movie
If we get her working, because she's a funnier character than we've ever had before.
dranelemakol my thoughts exactly. It’s like poetry
It rhymes.
@@dranelemakol Dropping a Star Wars Reference here was as beautiful as this scene. Bravo my friend.
That was the point
From Bill the Butcher and Daniel Plainview to this. D.D. Lewis gotta be one of the most versatile performance actors I know of.
Daniel Day Lewis was robbed of his oscar.
Cisco Blue robbed? get off the H
For acting like Daniel Day Lewis? I like the actor a bit, esp in There Will be Blood and Lincoln but he of all the contenders didn't deserve a win based on his performance in this movie.
You might be right, but, he does have 3 Oscars under the best Actor category of which No other Actor in Hollywood has.

I just went to this location in robin hoods bay; it’s fantastic. It was surreal to see it as this is one of my favorite films ever.
his toilet must have got wrecked later that day...........and as he sat on the toilet, the flow gaining velocity, he repeated his order "welsh rarebit, poached egg.........."
Lol
Too bad you missed the scene where she trips over a table leg after seeing him. That seemed like an extraordinary moment to me.
Absolutely agreed and if you look closely you can see she's blushing. It's such a wonderful detail and just shows how much love went into this gorgeous film. It's reallt such a treat to watch such a masterclass in direction
This film was an absolute joy to watch
Thinking back to this scene after she poisoned him the first time and it became clear that she’s just as weird and crazy as Reynolds. These two are perfect for each other.
I kinda prefer Day-Lewis' performance over Oldman's.
I did, too, but that year was all about Chalamet for me, personally. But at the same time, that's what was incredible about 2017's leading actors. You had Gary Oldman giving a powerhouse performance as Winston Churchill, then you had Daniel Day-Lewis's swan song and a final showcase of his incredible talent and lastly, there was Timothée Chalamet breaking through with one of the most layered and devastating performances of the decade.
I prefer this Alma girl's performance. I always forget the name of the actor. She was full of innocence and womanhood in equal levels, so believable and went up there against or with, (depending on the escene) D. D. Lewis.
Me too !!!!!!

Anytime
I tried to pick up my waitress at Denny's like this but she served me a Grand Slam instead and then I cancelled our dinner date.
i remember going into this film when watching it for the very first time completely blind to any previews, trailers, reviews, plot sypnosis, none of it! all i knew is that it starred daniel day-lewis and paul thomas anderson wrote and directed it, that’s it and it was enough for me honestly. i remember just feeling sucked into this charming little world paul had created and being OBSESSED with alma the same way reynolds must’ve felt. i can’t describe it any better than that 🤷🏻♂️

Genius. All of it. Genius.
He's so fussy and reminds me of my grand dad. But it's such a good film
No milkshake this time, Reynolds?
Anyone else think the actress who played his girlfriend looked like Ingrid Bergman , a masterpiece film. Beautifully made. Enjoyed watching it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
she looked like a paler minka kelly
And now I feel like a Hungry Girl
I want nothing more than to sit in that room, looking out at that beautiful view, and eat bacon and sausages and scones with a nice cup of coffee. That just looks like bliss.
If it were my film I'd have ended the scene with him unbuckling his belt after the meal, patting his stomach, lifting his leg and farting with a toothpick in his mouth, and loudly exclaiming, "oh boy that'll make a turd!"
The sexual tension in this scene is insane
What sexual tension ?

Daniel Day-Lewis comes out of retirement to launch his ASMR career
I guess he wants to keep the paper she writes his order on because it has her handwriting on it? Is that right?
@@Lili-kr4pj It was to see if she was interested, if she could remember that meant she had been paying extra attention to his every word, and not just remembered it the seconds it takes to write it down on the paper.
No, it's neither of those. He was smitten with her and merely wanted a keepsake of their encounter. He asked if she could remember so that he could keep the paper (since she didn't need it). He wasn't testing to see if she was "worthy'" of him. And her being able to remember didn't necessarily indicate interest on her part, because that's part of a waitress's job. lol
I'm sure he knew that telling her he was keeping it would likely flatter her, but he basically just wanted to keep it because he liked her.
A great fantasy.
Daniel day Lewis exudate class in every frame.... The way he smiles at her... U feel that nobody was more infatuated more than him.... At first the film confuses u but then maybe after 2-3 viewing u start getting hang of it...
and after all that...to the bathroom! XD
what is this music i need to know
elevator music
Darude
Damn this movie
Mmmmmm bacon
Does It Reminds Me Of The Live Action Version Of Corpse Bride?
They were both psychos
Any word on the welsh rabbits?
@@syraxes7166 I want you to go out there. None of your little minions. I want you to go punish the person who's responsible for murdering this poor little rabbit.... Is that understood?
@@syraxes7166 You don't say that name. That name died with you. They been outlawed.
hungry boy, thirsty girl
I found my self smiling as this part. Really love it.
I love when he says "and some sausages"
Lol
Such grace and beauty in every detail. The colours and sounds are so exquisite and finely polished. The language and tones in the characters voices are so tranquil and delicate. This movie is practically a deep and divine dream.
EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SCENE IS PERFECT.
Song in this scene is My Ship by Oscar Peterson
First time watching this scene or hearing about this movie, I don't know how, and now shook her name is Alma.
It's a reference to Bergman's Persona if you're interested.
I loved this movie! Unusual, but fascinating
If you think about it, DDL can play as Jordan Peterson if they ever make a movie about him.
Oh my goodness that is so true in Lincoln there was one scene were I was like wait he kinda reminds me of Jordan Peterson
HAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAH HAAHAHAHAHAHAH
don't think anyone's making a movie of him now lmao
Will you remember
I eat his breakfast for breakfast. Actually, for dinner
I was so hungry watching this movie.
wonderful, wonderful scene
Favorite romance movie
FOR DA HENGRY BOY, MEIN NAME IS ALMA.
Has Daniel Day Lewis ever been on screen with a black person? 🤔
Kinda extra full breakfast isnt it?
