Epic has sent out alerts of a server outage in 2 weeks from now for maintenance. It's possible they're working on it.
Also note: their internal policy literally doesn't allow them to talk about active cheating situations until it's been addressed

Epic could easily make these road to SSL series possible if they wanted to. Big content creators like Squishy reach out to Epic and they make it so players who lose to these road to SSL accounts don't lose MMR. Content creators can keep pumping out content for Epic and players don't feel bad for losing to smurfs.
That clearly takes too many brain cells for them to implement

That is an insane thing to say. You act like there is just a give back elo button. Also the issue isn't with them losing elo, it's about smurfing.
the same concept exists in online chess. if you face a player on a speedrun account you get the option to decline the matchup, with a message that any mmr lost will be refunded. that's a perfect solution to this particular set of events. epic games seriously shooting themselves in the foot here. massive driver for engagement is what these series are
It's the first time I've watched anyone play Rocket League, having ignored the game for several years now. But I mean, it's not like these guys are blind right? They must have noticed this series getting tons of views.
Clearly they want less people watching this game. I'll go back to obliging them.
@@Xialoh For anyone who's not top 5%, players like this (and the tens of thousands of players following in the footsteps and smurfing), absolutely destroy the experience for players. Ranked is a miserable experience.
For the next series, instead of road to ssl, can you do it differently and analyze each ranks gameplay? People could send in replays of each rank theyre in. You could analyze what they did right and what they could have done better with the skills they currently have, and then maybe the next steps to take, either positionally or mechanically, to rank up.
Really like this idea would be cool to watch
I like your idea but I have a similar one. What if squishy took a brand new player (like silver or something) and trained them up for a few months. That way everyone can grow and watch them come up.
@JasonCarr1979 that would be cool. Maybe a competition winner, or a paid program. It'd be weird if it wasn't a paid thing or a winner of something though lol. It'd just be free coaching.

Exactly, there are so many cheaters, I looked on RL tracker a while back and there were 3 players at 3000+ mmr, and the pro was around 2500

And as usual, Squishy, you show this community more than just how to play Rocket League. You're a class act, and have a really professional attitude. Your parents did an amazing job raising you. Lesser people would have flipped out and acted childishly under the same circumstances, but your opening message shows why you are not just a champion in the way you play but a champion at heart too. You really are a great role model for young players in esports.

road to ssl vs viewers actually sounds like a sick series. no waiting on queue times and none of the issues that are plaguing ranked. that being said, why is epic reaching out to content creators about minor tadpole issues, when there are a plethora of other things that they could be utilizing their precious time for.
I see the reasoning.. If every content creator or aspiring one tries to do road to SSL series, then smurfing gets more common. The real OGs like Leth and Squishy do it right by carefully using mechs, but others def don't take the same care. Keep killin it squishy. I'll watch the privates for sure.

Road to SSL inspires more people to play the game! Epic should state which rules he’s violating. Otherwise, they’re basically saying he’s not allowed to make multiple RL accounts. According to that rule, they’d have to ban almost all pros and streamers.

I think that's GREAT. Don't get me wrong. I watch and learn a lot from your "road to..." series but it is not fun when I put myself in the shoes of the people you're beating up on. I know its mostly informational but playing against Diamonds and Champs and keeping their level of play is not actually what happens. Otherwise you would lose alot more. For a real look at what those ranks are in 2024, playing with appropriate level fans would be way more accurate. I feel like you have enough fans and followers to be able to make the "this is what XXX rank looks like..." videos happen (with their comms would be awesome). I look forward to the fanfueled content!

I don’t see why Epic doesn’t take a page from the chess platforms. Anytime a streamer does a speed run (it’s like road to ssl where the streamer will start at a low rank and work their way up to grandmaster) the ELO is refunded back to the player after the match is over.
6:36 is it worth it to boost even after you reach supersonic? i thought its pointless. once you have the "wheel trails" you dont need to boost to go full speed right?
He explained the reason why right after. I was in the same boat as you about a year ago , but I’ve seen a few pros mention that you get a little bit faster when you boost while supersonic.

I’m a call of duty player that started recently and I’m stuck in plat even though I watch all your vids. I call dibs on your plat 2-3 private match
The first 4 1/2 minutes squishy thinks he’s doing very basic stuff, but he’s controlling the entire pitch even if the other guy has possession. It’s never really his ball keeping him uncomfortable situations is something that only very skilled players can do consistently and thats why he saids hes nuts bc he truly couldnt do a thing about it
Obviously SSL is a whole different level than GC2 but it still blows my mind to watch someone put a GC2 in a blender while holding back…

ive always been plat in ones, try following your tips. got to diamond 2 in less than a week. im a hard stuck c3 in 2s, usually solo. if you think u can stop me in ones, lol jk more diamond help so i can try my best to get champ, champ!
It seems people here think that the decision-makers for this are in any way related to whoever is in charge of fixing the game’s flaws.
I understand smurfing is frowned upon, but Squishy is top tier. He doesn't play in the lower ranks against many players and he brings more attention to RL. I love the series, but prefer 2v2.
private matches could be so much more beneficial, more games with the same people with real time coaching would help them... and us in some way

@@samw2431 if they wanna go after squishy for smurfing which is technically against TOS, they need to also go after every win trader, ddoser and invisible car glitch abusers. Pros doing a road to gc/ssl cultivates interest and motivates people who would otherwise quit the game because they can't figure out their mistakes & it's a great way to stay in touch with the entire playerbase to understand the game at all levels. this series is way less damaging than a single ddoser/win trader/invisible car abuser would be for the entirety of the game. But with how Epic is it's obvious they will choose the worst option and give no clear reasons why they make the decisions that they do

There is no rules against making a fresh account. Squishy did what anyone else is allowed to do. They just didn't like it because a large content creator was doing it.
Epic should allow applications and grant exceptions. If anyone posts road to SSL videos without permission they can just ban their accounts.
