    Love my Hall Crystal Flute! I got the D with offset holes which makes the span of the holes perfect for me because I use my pinky finger on the bottom hole. I had never played a flute before, but found it fairly easy to play.

    I love them :) they look so pretty. Thx a lot for speaking slowly and pronouncing exactly... words by words. I'm not a native Eng. speaker. That helps m a lot for understanding what you say :)

    I'm a clarinet player(2nd year) in the possesion of a C Hall Piccolo for over year. I had it before I started playing clarinet and I could barely get a sound out went testing it. After a while I picked it back up again after obtaining an ocarina (teacup) sometime after the clarinet and was able to play better due to my knowledge of music and how your mouth should be. It's fun trying to play and figure out the fingerings now than not knowing hardly anything about music than before.

    I once made a flute out of a piece of PVC tube I found under a tree and a cork I got from a local bar. It was great fun and could be really piercing.

    Mine is on the way. I’m playing the fairy godmother in Cinderella in may and I’m going to use it to play her theme because I can’t sing😂. I’m a 3 year flute player and very exited❤

    Honestly, I’m a flutist (majored in it in college) and have had one of these for many years. I could only sometimes get a decent sound out of them, and playing the low D I have was not very enjoyable. Perhaps the A or above would have been a better choice, but I did not like the raised area on the embouchure or tone holes, so I am likely going to sell my low D. Much prefer wooden flutes. 😅

    I love my Hall crystal flute in D. It has a beautiful sound. My biggest problem was I had a problem understanding which fingering chart to use. Lol it took me forever to even understand the differences between them.

    Is the flatted 7th note fairly in tune? In other words, does the Crystal Flute in A play the G note fairly well?

    Gina, do you think it is better to get a crystal flute with inline or offset holes? I've played the flute for seven years cause of school band and would just want to know which was better.

    • @GinaLuciani
      @GinaLuciani  4 роки тому

      That depends on you... Do you have smaller hands? If so, I'd suggest offset (which is what I use). If your flute is offset, this might be a more comfortable option as well!

  • @iprobablyforgotsomething

    It's the little details, like holding it further up on your lip, and pushing against your mouth with one hand and away with the other to help balance the instrument when playing up the scale, that I really appreciate in a tutorial. Especially when it comes to breakable instruments (muscle control issues, ftw-not) that I likely couldn't afford to replace after I dropped them...

    What italian origin?

  • @randlyons7278
    @randlyons7278 4 роки тому +1

    Sooo. Gina, or anybody who wants to respond. With 6 holes it appears they're keyed like a whistle and dedicated to the key sig. ie D or A. does the maker cut them to work in pentatonic Minors as well such as am or cm or do you just start on a different note. I'm not really that much of a whistle player . The basic old style Native American flutes had 5 holes and were in a Minor Pentatonic.

    • @theprayerfulflute8203
      @theprayerfulflute8203 4 роки тому +2

      Rand Lyons Yep. Played just like a tin whistle, which is nice because there’s lots of tin whistle sheet music out there with tabs if needed. And just like the Native American Flute, unless you’re playing with other instruments, the key of the flute doesn’t matter; the finger pattern is the same from key to key. You can get most any note you need (sharp or flat) out of the Hall flutes by simply half-holing. For me, I can half-hole these way easier than I can my Native American flutes.

      Good question if you get it in the key of D you can get sheet music with penny whistle tabs and play all day long I don't know why she says that A and G is the easiest when sheet music in tabs is not universe available I have to disagree with her. Her music theory is way off!!

    I found these very beautiful but hard to play. These are not like my bamboo flutes. I don't like how the blow hole has a rim, this is unnecessary in my opinion.

    for me, what sucks is that the higher pitched flutes while easier to play are so annoying to listen to especially when you're practicing and running through the same scales/pieces to get them correct. the high pitch kills me and makes me not want to practice.
