Man oh man..... How does one even BUILD something like this?!?! So delicate yet strong at the same time...
They're so amazing! It's truly a work of art 😊
Lab glass! You can build just about anything out of it.
I’ve played the flute all through school and still have mine and a piccolo but these are so interesting and beautiful! Their tone is so nice too. Thank you for sharing this video
Good God, don't drop it! Beautiful! The flutes are nice too. What a day brightening smile!
I would be so scared to handle those flutes cuz I drop everything... but they are really beautiful... and the tone is fantastic. I really like the inline nature of the fingering. It's similar to a native flute but held sideways. The raised rings around the finger holes is brilliant. They look like they're really well made. Great review Molly.
Haha, me too! They are a bit scary to handle for sure. They offer an offset fingering as well, but I prefer the inline. Thanks for watching 😊
@Musical Molly Khan does it have a cork im it?
They really sound great and unique, the tone is very pure and strong. The sound is similar to something I would get from my classical flute but it’s a little too pure for me, I need some gritty dirty character to the sound. Certain penny whistles really do the trick for sure
I completely understand. I personally love that completely pure sound and I have the hardest time with whistles because of it 🤣
@@MusicalMollyKhan I have a Clarke celtic(same as the sweet one) and a Clark original and the Celtic is too pure, the original Clark is massively airy while the Celtic is pretty darn pure. Often I find that the musician wants a clean sound when they play solo often and like the sound clean, but from a composer mind I cherish the textured characteristics in the entire mix, it fills up the audio with character
Beautiful flute, beautiful music, beautiful personality
These come in various keys (around 7 or 9 of them) but they should make lower pitched versions & they'll be plastic to minimize brekage.
Your smile is more gorgeous and your laughter is more melodious than the flutes. 😍
Keep playing.
I have two of these flutes! They are wonderful!
They really are amazing, and so beautiful! 😊
It's basically a glass bansuri, even the position of the fingering holes is the same
Interesting. I don't know that I have ever heard of or seen a crystal flute before. I really like the sound of the larger one.
And congratulations, Molly. I see you are now over 3k subs.
Thank you! It's really exciting to see the channel grow 😊
Larger one is bass flute
FYI the flower pattern is called "delft". Delft is a city in the Netherlands, which is famous for its blue and white pottery. :)
Oh how fascinating! Thank you so much for the info :D
This is the first I'm seeing, or hearing of these. Awesome!!!!
They are so cool! A great little company 😊
Very nice. The A would work for my small hands.
Awesome
Cool!
I have a question.... why is it that your laugh is contagious?
Thanks for description about the glass not being sharp and sample of tones..and about the glass "fogging" that's interesting..Thanks
Glad to help 😊
this seems easy enough to make! ill have to try it out next time im blowing glass
That sounds amazing! I want to learn to blow glass someday 😊
Hi, my name is Dat. I love your video. I also own 1 of the Hall crystal flutes in low d. You know you can reach all the way to the highest d, not just high b. there also are fingerings for some of the accidentals on the 3rd octave as well.
Thanks for a lovely video.
Thank you! I haven't mastered those higher notes yet but I will keep trying 😊
Thanks for the reply. Have a question for you:
I'm having a little difficult time getting rid of the latency for the lowest note, I mean I can play the low d but there's always a little delay and I don't know how to get rid of that. I've been asking around but have not getting the solution yet.
Thanks.
Very nice 👍
I’ve never heard of these but you have my undivided attention 👀
They are so cool! 😊
@@MusicalMollyKhan they’re beautiful! Looking forward to the next video! 😊
Yay! 1st one! Hi Molly! 😍❤️
Sizing wise- how would you compare them to a standard C flute or piccolo?
Thank you for this helpful review! I have a quick question though, is this flute able to play a flatted 7th in tune fairly well? I see there is a fingering without half holing for the 7th note flattened, but since there is no thumb hole I'm wondering if it plays that note well or not. Please let me know!
I just got these out and tested it! It took a bit of adjustment with my breath, but it can definitely be in tune!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow! These are lovely and sound so pretty! Now uuou have me interested in another instrument! Ha! ~ Groth Music has so many different Keys! So if I buy a flute in the Key of D, does that mean I would only play music in Key of D (especially with other instruments, like harp, guitar or piano)?
It's a beautiful instrument! Generally, that just means it's *easier* to play in the key of D, but you can still get chromatic notes by using slightly more complicated fingerings 😊
@@MusicalMollyKhan I bought the Key of D flute! Hurrah! - and, it arrived today "Easter Sunday" at 1:38 p.m.!!! I'm so excited! Now, I have to learn "how to" get sounds out of it. I might have to get a flute teacher to help ... It would be so nice to just "play some songs now!" Ha! However ... all in time! It is, however, a gorgeous flute! So exciting! Thank you for this video because I would never have known about it!
Hi, so I currently play the flute and I am looking at purchasing one of these crystal flutes, but I want something with a similar range of my regular flute (in the c range) what should I buy of the crystal flutes that has the same range?
I think that you should try out to be the next Princess Leia! You have that look 👀 .
Haha, thank you! I would love to do that someday 😅
I play the flute and i’ve only played key of C ever since i started a couple years ago. I was planning on getting one of these flutes in the key of D but i’m not sure if the fingerings are the same as the flute in C or if i would basically have to re-learn the instrument again. Is there any differences i should know about?
It's a bit confusing! It's the same fingerings but it will be one off because of the change of key - so basically, the easiest way to think of it is that you can take music in the key of C, play it as-is on your D flute, and it will 'magically' be in the key of D without any transposing on your part. If you want to play "in key" though, you will need to re-learn fingerings (such that low D will be all fingers down whereas you are used to C). I hope that makes sense!
@@MusicalMollyKhan It did! Thank you so much :)
Your smile so cute
i pick a bamboo flute yesterday, is that need to clean after we play several time?? because i saw my bamboo was moldy already, is that still can be use??
Hmm that's a really good question that I don't know the answer to! That's never happened to me. I think it would be good to invest in a cleaning kit with a long thin brush like this one: amzn.to/3hSho99 and then make sure to keep it out in the open until it dries and then you can put it away 😊
I hope you threw that lethal moldy flute out by now
How many instruments do you play?
Haha, the short answer is LOTS! The long answer is that I can pick up the basics of most any instrument quickly, but I'm not that great at any of them 😅
What is the price of this Flute?
They range from about $50 to over $100 depending on size 😊
My aunt made those
😅
PRetty!
They are gorgeous 😊
Their website suggests piccolos for small hands but I want a D. They said D was for big man hands.
I have really long fingers (for a woman) and the D is a stretch for me. But not impossible by any means! 😊
@@MusicalMollyKhan you are fortunate. I really want the D key but may try a G or F. Thanks for the information. Pretty flutes.
Love your smile chasmiss🇮🇳
Wow lovely please give me one flutr💕 please please 🙏
You can get them on Amazon or from Hall crystal flutes!
I have not rupees sister! 😞😢
