Hi Gina. I had a cheap, blue Zelda ocarina in C major. I had trouble getting clean sound on the high notes like for example Zelda's song of storms. After watching some of your videos and getting your discount code, I decided to purchase a 12 hole blue and white porcelain tenor ocarina in C major. It made a world of difference. Printed my own ocarina and all your tutorials have been so handy for learning it rather than trying to figure it out myself One big thing I've found a lot of people don't realise with wind instruments is that putting your shoulders back increases your forced expiratory volume (i.e. the amount of air you can actually use; it's quite literally impossible to use the full volume, but we use the vast majority) It's the kind of thing a lot of musicians will find themselves doing without realising over the long term Also the breathing exercises are great for stress too Slowing your breathing increases the amount of CO2 dissolved in the blood (pCO2) which then forms carbonic acid and affects blood acidity The body realllyyyy wants it to be in a TINY range (7.35-7.45 iirc and its life threatening at like 7.25-7.55); so by slowing your breathing and increasing CO2, the body picks up that increase in acidity and slows the heart rate to help clear extra CO2 Especially for panic attacks I found this was so effective for those who could hold their breath to do it

Got an ocarina from a music instruments website some months ago but I gave up cause I could not get clean notes when left side was not fullly covered. They sound like the air comes out weird...It is like you can hear the air and the note at the same time, not clear at all... I can't explain it. I found your videos today and thought I might try again, but nothing. I did check the finger placement/breathing and I can have clean notes when all left side is covered, so I guess it is not a good ocarina..? Could the breathing be bad enough that I can not produce a decent note on the left side? Also mine does not have the 2 little holes yours have (it has one in the base , next to the mouth) and has a big left pinky finger hole, not a regular one, maybe it is for middle notes?

One big thing I've found a lot of people don't realise with wind instruments is that putting your shoulders back increases your forced expiratory volume (i.e. the amount of air you can actually use; it's quite literally impossible to use the full volume, but we use the vast majority)
It's the kind of thing a lot of musicians will find themselves doing without realising over the long term
Also the breathing exercises are great for stress too
Slowing your breathing increases the amount of CO2 dissolved in the blood (pCO2) which then forms carbonic acid and affects blood acidity
The body realllyyyy wants it to be in a TINY range (7.35-7.45 iirc and its life threatening at like 7.25-7.55); so by slowing your breathing and increasing CO2, the body picks up that increase in acidity and slows the heart rate to help clear extra CO2
Especially for panic attacks I found this was so effective for those who could hold their breath to do it

I can't wait to play my new ocarinas and thank you for your 10 % off on the ocarina site I can't wait to play it wuuuhuuu😍😍😍
That's so exciting! Which ones did you get?
Me watching: Looks easy. Too bad I can't try it and destroy my show off-behavior...
It's going to take 7-21 days till it comes 😭😐💀
I am taking notes , feels like school. 😂❤
It really looks like SO much fun. Thanks for sharing!
Never thought I could breathe wrong but here we are.
I love your dragon ocarina. I want one!!
Thank you for the code! Buying mine today. I used to have a cheap one back in the N64 era, but my daughter loves the zelda songs on uke. Time for her to hear the actually ocarina
Hamon training is needed to play the ocarina
If I wanted to assist my guitarist friend on Stairway To Heaven, what key Ocarina do you recommend that has a range to cover this song. Love your instruction video.
