- How does the Nokta Legend compare to the Minelab Equinox 800? I try to give you the answer in this video. This is not a VS video as much as it is a comparison of signals. I am trying to give you an idea how each machine responds to different unknow targets in a real hunt. Nothing is planted, no air tests or test gardens, just real targets that I would dig given the signals. I hope you enjoy this video and find it helpful.

The legend is a fierce competitor to the Equinox 800. It has multiple and individual frequencies, the same work as the Equinox 800, and has other additional features.
I think i am sold on buying the Legend with this video. I just started and have a Garrett ace 300.
I started detecting in the 1970s with an old heavy Whites` machine. In the mid 1990s I bought the most expensive Bounty Hunter they had at the time. I was amazed by the accurate target ID that allowed me to hone in on coins and rings. There are very few places to hunt in my area and I`ll be limited to the nearby woods and creek so I bought a Vanquish 340. It`s the deepest detector I`ve ever owned. Spending more with no place to hunt would be a waste of time.

I had a 600 an a 800 since they came out . I sold both . I bought a legend when it first came out and just got another one today. Until these companies build better quality on their 1600 units, I'll stay with the legend.

Thank you sir for being unbiased and fair, I find myself picking up the Legend way more then my nox especially for my water hunts I don't trust the nox enough to completely submerge it like I do the Legend and I've had zero problems with Legend. Nokta Makro is an amazing company and the updates just keep getting better and better. I've had it a year but still only have 7 days 4 hours of actual time with it, got to love that it has an odometer which helps me keep track of actual experience on the Legend.
And yes Life is very short

Unfortunately, these are all false advertisements and shows.
Pay attention to the Equinox LCD, the sensitivity has been lowered.
And pay attention to the legend, the sensitivity is maximum.
The rest of the settings are also unclear.
Instead of investing in technology, Nokta Macro has invested in false advertising.
For this reason, the metal detectors of this company , two of the same model, one good and one bad. But all Minelab products have the same quality

Thanks for sharing this video, I've just upgraded from a Nokta Makro Simplex+ to an Minelab Equinox 800 as too many detectorists swear by it as a great detector. But recently been hearing the Nokta Legend is better than the 800 and better at picking good targets etc so I looked for comparison videos and came across yours. Anyhow I'm impressed the Legend rings rusty bottle caps real low like the 800 as my old Simplex+ was ringing up high and dry in the 90s for rusty bottle caps and rusty iron crap in general and so I was digging those crappy rusty caps by the thousands over my near 4 years detecting with it which drove me around the twist, the Simplex+ was a good detector and a crap detector at the same time because of that 90+ rusty iron target issue hence my recent upgrade! Anyhow I guess the Legend and 800 are near on par with each other based off your video but the VDI number setup is different.

I have two minelabs three Noktas and an Xp . The only ones I have had to spend money on are the minelabs . Putting decent shafts on .Nokta rules .

I will be interested in that too. Unfortunately I have no intention of buying the 900. At least not at this time. Hopefully someone will do that.

There is not a frog hair between the two machines as far as performance , the main thing is one is 300.00 cheaper and water proof,and the is 300.00 more and claims to be water proof
I am finding out that there is more than a frogs hair difference. I do believe that is why we are seeing such an influx of new models all of a sudden.
Scott Nice video thank you I have had the Equinox For a good while I like it But I had a lot of issues from the beginning leakage and coil issues I felt I had to baby it I didn't want it to break again. A friend preordered the Legend and WoW The build quality was at least twice as good as the equinox if not more I ordered my legend the same day Extremely comfortable and compact Also love the additional user profiles A lot more than the equinox which I need in the different locations I Hunt. Extremely excited It's just getting started on the updates it a lot of Good things in the works

I love it still. I bought the manticore and didn't like it. Nokta is a great company too.
I had the gold kruzer for a while it was a solid detector. So how much better is the legend over the nox 600 that’s what I’m currently swinging
@@BeefyPrepperthegolddigger The legend has more adjustability built into it. I think for me it boils down to these few things. Nokta supports this machine. It has had its issues and they have fixed every one as far as i'm concerned. The price is very fair for what you get. I feel it performs as well as machines at twice the price. If you are concerned about depth, I think they all are just about the same. I am not concerned about depth. I want a machine that has good target separation and can sift through the iron and the legend excels in that. I know this may not help much but it is a hard question to answer when it boils down to what you expect out of it. Sometimes the best machine is the one you know and for me the legend is the one that I understand the most.
It does help. I’ve been to some really trashy places and it’s frustrating especially if you know there is good stuff
overtime of using them both, did you find that they both preform about the same or do you find more with one over the other?
Since making this video i have used the legend almost exclusively. I have found that it has better iron separation. I have picked out good signals with it where the 800 would not. They are very close but I would give the advantage to the legend. This applies to field and cellar hole conditions and not the beach.

I got both detectors and just start detecting with it. I think the Legend is bit heavier,but i like the shaft ,will use it for underwater detecting..
How are you liking the legend now that's it's been a while?
@@knowbuddy0 i will keep the Legend and sale the 800. Equinox 800 is easier to use , turn an go ,but will sale it because of the leaking problems people report. Also i got the Vanquish 540 and i like it .

As far as performance, how would you compare the V 540 to the E 800?
I think the Legend looks well made but i have the equinox 800 and aside from thowing the thing around im not sure why people have breakages.
Overall it seems like the nox is a little smoother if that makes any sense.
I know what you are saying and I think you are correct in that. I will say that after I have some hours on the legend it does a bit better job in the nail fields we have here around cellar holes. Once you get used to the tones it has fantastic iron separation. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with either one.

I'm selling my AT Pro because the area of Tx. I detect has heavy mineralized sand and it doesn't do well. It's great in the rivers but i don't want to limit myself. I've been using my excalibur II for beach but I'd like a ma hine that is great on land and sea. Stay safe

Scott is there a difference in the price? People are trying to convince me to grab the Goldmonster 1000 but I would’t know the difference between it and the Quattra that I already have!!
I am not familiar with the quattra that you have. The gold monster was designed specifically for prospecting and gold hunting. I have seen it used on the beach but it is not an all around detector.
Looks like 1.07 has fixed some bugs
Now that the Legend has had a few updates, do you think it is better or, as good as an Equinox 800?
I feel it is every bit as good as the 800 in the environment that I hunt in. I can't speak for the beach. The legend seems to have a bit of an edge over the 800 in the iron infested areas. That is something that I never thought I would say but it can pick desirable targets amongst some pretty serious nail infested cellar holes.
You could hear the two detectors disturbing each other due to them being operating so close to each other.
I would pick up a nokta detector before spending 1500 on one keep price at 800

Truth is, the simplex + is single frequency and the legend is multi frequency. Big difference!, I think at least.
