- Hey Zen Friends! Today is a very special reptile enclosure build video for our Bearded Dragon, Chi. This beardie is extremely special to us here at Zen Habitats, as he was the Bearded Dragon that led our founders to build the original Zen Habitats 4'x2x'2' Enclosure! So, we decided it was time to upgrade his habitat, into an Australian outback-inspired desert-themed enclosure, perfect for where our Bearded Dragon is found in the wild!
In this video, Kasey takes you through the step-by-step process of setting up the Zen Habitats 4'x2x4' Meridian Reptile Enclosure, repurposing a massive fence from our bearded dragon's original enclosure, installing all of the Austrialin-outback inspired decor and MORE!

well that looks fun to my eyes
When you go to disinfect and clean the tank do you not have to clean the wood? Would love to use branches and things in my bearded dragon’s enclosure but not sure if the wood would also need to be cleaned? And do they not need a moisture hide?

Thank you so much! We actually had it printed on a laminated card stock, so only good for an arid enclosure. It would be perfectly safe in your enclosure. If you go with a vinyl just be sure it won’t produce any VOC’s. Those gasses can be toxic to your pet.

How can i keep my enclosures from wobbling? I have 2 of the 4x2x2 enclosures with the stack spacer and the stand and they dont seem sturdy at all.
Do you need to use a bio basin for a bioactive bearded dragon enclosure
We usually recommend using a Bio-Basin to avoid any sand leakages at the seams of the Meridian style enclosures. It is rare for this to occur but we will usually add it just incase.
Did you put isopods and oither insects in the soil?
We didn’t go fully bioactive for Chi’s enclosure, so we didn’t end up adding any 💚
Super curious to what lights and what setup for lights you use in this tank, I’m scrambling to figure out how to set up my new cage and lights
For the lights on top of the screen, we used a 24" 12% UVB and 120w halogen bulb. For the one hanging over the branch, it is a mercury vapor bulb.
