My favorite idea about these Zen habitats that I've seen in the hamster's Community is turning them into Syrian hamster habitat
He has such a cool studio apartment now! A little beardie bachelor pad.
We just upgraded to one of these enclosures yesterday for our beardie. For the bottom, we bought a box of packing paper from U-Haul. The double box is around $8 and lasts a really long time since a couple of sheets are large enough to cover the entire bottom of the enclosure.
That tank would be perfect for my red tail boa!!! Thanks for the idea!
Yeah, I would look into getting the UVB inside the vivarium. The mesh stops a large percentage of UVB penetration.
zip ties is the way to go.. like $3 for a pack of 15 of them at walmart that are plenty long enough.. 18" seems a little to far away for the UVB going thru mesh.
I used zip ties to mount the UVB to the inside of my Zen when my beardie still lived in it. When my beardie passed, I upgraded my leopard gecko into it and moved the UVB up higher for him. Love how the Zen looks and how it works so well for arid species. I haven't tried the PVC enclosure but heard good things about it.

I love Tut's new enclosure. He must love the way you designed it. I wonder if a small climbing snake would be happy in there as well.
I got the same enclosure for my beardie and for my uvb lighting I actually got some command hooks and stuck them and the light onto that back panel in the enclosure. Works great 😁
A trick i used to get a bad stain out of my hardwood floor was soaking a rag in hydrogen peroxide and letting it sit overnight. worked like a charm, would probably work just as well that
I just got this enclosure for my Blue Tongue Skink and had the same problem hanging the UV light BUT this is how I eventually got it hung up!!! (Easier with 2 people)
I put two zip ties together to make a long one and set those between the bar and netting. Hold the light up and close one of the sides loosely (so it dangles) and do the same for the other. SUPER unstable!! If you keep tightening the zip ties little by little alternating which one you tighten eventually it will straighten up and hold tight!!! You just have to tighten the zip ties A LOT.

I would definitely recommend getting the mat if you don’t want to use loose substrate. It gets hard on dragon joints to walk on tile/wood after awhile.

I would like to live in Tut’s new enclosure. It looks so cozy and comfortable. I love the hammocks and the rabbit bed. I don’t have a bearded dragon. I live vicariously through you with all your pets. However, have you tried Arm and Hammer white erasers to clean Tut’s potty spots. Those things are amazing. They are so great, and even remove Sharpie. I may be way way off, but it’s a thought. Congratulations on your new home Tut!
I have a ferret bed in my enclosure. And my beardie uses it as a bed more then any other spot in his enclosure. He curls up like a little puppy lol.

Thank you for the review, my bearded dragon is in a 40 gallon glass tank that I bought at petsmart and it’s already too small for his fat ass. Just purchased one through your link, hope it does help you.

For the wood, use a non toxic sealer. My hamster was peeing on her wooden hide and it was so hard to try and get out so I washed it best I could and then used mod podge to seal the wood. So far its been working great! Hope this helps :) you can also try a waterproof sealant you'd use for outdoor projects but you'd have to let it sit for like a week or more to make sure all the fumes are gone.
She can't use a sealer those temps get up to 105 to 110 degree.

Depending on what species of reptile you have and how much UVB they need there are several ways to do the UVB light. You can hang it inside. Or you can do a high output fixture with a high output bulb higher than what your animal needs and that way it won't matter if some of it is blocked by the screen. It's very individual depending on the species.

I’m sure someone else has probably said this but attach the UVB with zip ties. I have recently purchased this same exact enclosure for my Eastern Hermann tortoise’s. They are hatchlings so I have a while til the can use it. But I am very impressed with this enclosure!

Instead of paper towels, you can try a regular towel or microfiber towel, you wouldn't have to constantly replace it and spend time putting it down, just pop it in and clean it, dry it, put it back in.
Their nails tend to get stuck like, instantly

Getting poop off the wood make hot water run on it use the toothbrush and it will come right off also smooth grip non adhesive shelf liner works great easy to clean and lasts a long time, for salads mix bright color vegetables with the greens bearded dragons are attracted to bright colors.
The screen will actually block a lot of the uvb so definitely get that uvb inside the enclosure

UVB should go inside. Use zip ties. Also get the zen mat for the bottom of the enclosure. Clean up poop so easy.
Also get him a hide that he can fit in fully so he has a place to feel secure.
Usually bearded dragons only drink moving water or from my experience so if your bearded dragon doesn’t drink from it maybe get a little water dropper to go in there
should get a solar meter 6.5 uvi meter to make sure the uvb is adequate through that screen
Think these enclosures are quite cheaply made for what they cost. Extremely thin panels that offer very little insulation and they rattle like crates with that screen on the top
Another enclosure suggestion then? Want to upgrade our Beardie and the more I look, the more confused I get. Seeking a 4x2x2 with front sliding panels. TY!

You might be able to coat those areas of the wood in a natural wax or something.
Go to Amazon and search for "metal S-hooks." That will give you something to hang your UVB lights from the bars. Cheap and easy.

I don't have any suggestions on how to get the spider wood cleaner, but once it is cleaned to your satisfaction, what about putting a few layers of spray enamel (or silicone) on it? you can usually get that at Home Depot with the spray paint. You'll want to research if it's safe for him once dry, but that will prob make future cleanup MUCH easier.
So I see you have the didn't have a cat. And I have the same thing and you have your light on the top of it. My promise I am not getting enough heat from my light bulb. What size light are you using?
Use the hard spray on your sprayer to remove poop n such. Spray it hard once. Let it sit a few. Spray again. Usually good enough for my Beardie. And her nick name is pooper. Js
Potty training your Beardie to only go outside is always an option if you want to keep it nice and clean in his terrarium.

Just a note on the bed; since it’s made of fabric it will harbour bacteria a lot more easily than something like plastic so it’s very important to clean it regularly and definitely remove it if he poops in it. Just thought I should mention it :)

If I were you I would boil the wood in vary hot water to sterilize it and if you don’t want to do that you could try putting it in the freezer

I ORDERED MY ENCLOSUER FROM ZEN HABITATS AND WHEN IT ARRIVED THE SLIDING "GLASS" DOORS WAS CHIPPED AND IMO ITS NOT WORTH THE $400 I SPENT. BETTER OFF BUILDING YOUR OWN.
Can you sand his poop off with sand paper? And then maybe seal the wood with polyacrylic sealer?
