Just bought my Energel o.4 mm needle tip. I just wondered what's the difference between needle tip and normal metal tip,i assume that needle tip makes more grip with paper because it is finer. I will order now normal tip and we will see,i think it will suit me better. Greetings from Croatia :)
It's just a much finer tip than the regular. I prefer the different tips depending on the task. I much prefer the regular tips for grading papers (they're my holy grail grading pens at this point). For everything else, I like the needle tip. The ink in these is amazing no matter what tip you go with. Let me know how you like them. I think the answer to both of your questions is no. I haven't purchased one in a very long time, though, so they may have changed it since this video. I would check JetPens.com. When you look at the product, there is an area that shows you all compatible refills. That would probably be there if refills would work for this. Thanks for your review. Pentel also have a retractable needle tip 0,5 mm pen. I'm not sure if they make the 0,35 mm in a retractable form.
Yes! I believe I had that pen and it got "borrowed," never to return. It was purple, and it was AWESOME!

No, Energels are way smooooth. If anything, you might eventually wish for a little friction.
