Is the Pentel multi 8 slightly light fast? I've used colored mechanical pencils before and they faded so much faster than even more economical traditional colored pencils. I really like the convenience and versatility of this product but if it's going to disappear with mild light exposure than I might have to pass.
I am at the age where I had to learn how to write both cursive and block letters, and I did write quit much. I had a period of my life when I had lots of time but no money, so I decided to write a short story/novel. It turnes out having a really good pen increases your productivity a lot, I started with whatever I had at home, and then gradually worked my way trough a lot of pens until I found the one I loved
I JUST bought the Pentel Multi-8 and I love it! It takes some getting used to in terms of switching from one color to the next. I’ve always been a Pentel fan and a fan of well-built and sturdy writing instruments for a long time. So glad that I found this channel!
That Dr. Grip model looks perfect for my husband. He has nerve damage in his hands and is increasingly having trouble with gripping pens and pencils. Having it be adjustable like that might be just the thing.
That Multi 8 is amazing! Not just because it holds 8 refills, but because it's actually *tapered* ! I hate thick pen grips, so I always avoid multi pens with more than 3 colours, but that one tapers enough that I might actually be able to handle using it (no pun intended)
Ah, the Multi 8! I bought one back in 2015 to use for color coding in my planner - it was so useful on thin Filofax paper that really didn't handle highlighters well (and it let me carry just one pencil instead of a ton of different colors). I now usually use a custom multi pen in my planner instead, but the Multi 8 also works great for a compact, on the go sketching kit! I do wish there was a nicer looking option though, ngl. Maybe something with a nice metal body...
@@user-fg6ro I work in a classroom, draw diagrams, grade papers.... yes, I already knew I needed one. No, I don't get bored with writing tools. Never have.
I’ll take one of each please. The pencil that impressed me most was tool one and how they managed to fit so much in one pencil. And while several look interesting I’m fond of Pilot’s shaker so that’s the one I’m most likely to buy.
The BIGGEST problem with ultra nice pencils/pens is eventually, you lose them. PERIOD. ESPECIALLY if you actually use/carry them. Speaking as someone who's owned a few of these super nice Japanese pen/pencils. So it's back to those cheap "good enough" one dozen for $2.99 pens/pencils. The truth is, I don't feel anything when I lose those cheap pens but it 'hurts' when I lose my nice Japanese pencils/pens.
I've never lost any of my expensive pen-/cils before. They usually have a dedicated pocket where I put them the moment I stop using them (tbf I only carry 2, 1 mechanical pencil and a pen). Every time I go through a door, leave public transport, change clothes etc. I pat myself down to check if everything's where it is supposed to be. A habit I got into after I got my phone stolen once.
I have had a Uni Kuru Toga for 2 years and used it every school day. Not once have I lost it, although it is a bit damaged (fixable with superglue and tape though)
I bought a few 4 and 1 uniball jetstream from jetpens. I use them all the time for my work (drafting/architecture). They work great. Now that I see that multi lead pencil...I want one!
Craziest Pen/Pencil I've ever seen was Angle Sensitive: The way you held the pen determined what color ink or Pencil Lead it would dispense. Rotate the Pencil/Pen a little and click the back to get a different tip.
hi. Is there a product similar to this product that draws 2 parallel pencil lines (at the same time) with a distance to each other and this distance can be adjusted? Something similar to a mechanical pencil that has two nozzles and the distance between the lines can be adjusted.
The problem with the knurled grip on the Uni Shift drafting pencil is that your middle finger gets an imprint of a graph paper after you held the pencil for a while....😉
I wonder if in the super multi 8 lead holder you could do multiple density leads for sketching? I would have one with the other colors and one with the different leads. Then a multi pen with fine tipped water proof black, red, brown, blue and possibly a white gel pen.
Is the Pentel multi 8 slightly light fast? I've used colored mechanical pencils before and they faded so much faster than even more economical traditional colored pencils. I really like the convenience and versatility of this product but if it's going to disappear with mild light exposure than I might have to pass.
Not to be pedantic, but what the MonteVerde has is a scale ruler. It is used to measure and draw scaled drafts. Plus , they don't mention how to advance the lead on this pencil, but it looks to be a twisting mechanism.
Hi there! We carry colored 2mm lead here: www.jetpens.com/2-mm-Lead/ct/530?&f=998b94b20715d63d Unfortunately we do not carry any compasses that fit 2 mm lead, so we cannot test if these leads will fit easily into your compass; you may have to manually shorten the lead before inserting.
I am forever grateful that fancy mechanical pens are always stored behind the counter which prevent me to try them and tempted to buy it and became broke (or stole them and get arrested)
I am really into buying a Multi8 both pencil and ink versions but what bugs me is how much replacements to buy for a long haul as the brand usually abandon old projects...cannot find parts for my Shaker.
Im sorry but the Multi 8 is just genius if youre using copy machines often. Its already cool have 6 colors that arnt ink-based pens, but 2 of them being able to write without showing up on copy machines sounds great. Seems like the first thing thatll get used-up by the multi 8
Idk, Troika Construction pen is better in my opinion, it has a tone of colours and body materials, and also features a level, so it's real multi-tool out of all
I have the Pro Use 171 and it's a great pencil. I actually think it is better than my Kuru Toga Dive which everyone craves. A bit of an apples to oranges comparison between the two.
I will be sold for the speciality pencil at 3:11 on the Pentel multi 8 if they make them with refillable quality pencil leads like prismacolor or Kalour (not leads terrible for colouring) with some way to keep the leads sharpened as needed. That would save so much trees in the process and more environmental friendly plus just grab only ‘1 pencil’ to put in the bag for quick travel colouring on the go. Make one and the colouring community will certainly buy them as long as the leads are really good and budget enough for colouring.
Love multi8 for sketching, you can use any 2mm leads with it. I like Koh-i-Noor colored 2mm leads and Staedtler graphite leads 🥰 It even fit tombow mono zero eraser! and also I use with it Prismacolor verythin (but with little help of knife and sand paper to get leads from wood and make them a little thinner)
@@Alina-kb1qf If only more colour pencils would sell 2mm leads with a multi 8…. I have the tombow mono, do you know if the eraser would work in the multi 8?

They really do !
For that price point they can't give you cheap plastic, right?
