If you have lots of pens and you're taking them apart, a fun thing you could try is to mix and match parts. Used to do that in school and make custom looking pens.
I bought the limited edition Pokémon Zebra Sarasa Clip pens and put Zebra Sarasa Dry refills in them. I also bought a limited edition Spirited Away Uni Jetstream for the sole purpose of continually refilling as it runs out. I'm planning to keep those pen bodies for as long as I can!
It's this stuff that puts you head and shoulders above the others (no insults to Steph, Jen, Josh, Videographer and Narrator) The compatible products page is my one true love and I am not taking comments at this time.
You can’t put a Parker-style refill in a Kaweco ballpoint pen, but you CAN put this type of refill in the gel pen. So I put a Fisher Space Pen refill with adapter inside the pen body of my black gel pen from Kaweco. I think that’s my favourite pen body/refill combo: It’s small like the Fisher Space Pen Bullet, but the pen body is a bit wider, which makes it more comfortable to hold.
The Pilot Frixion Multipen gave me a bit of trouble to refill the first time, as I was afraid of breaking it when I pulled the empty ink cartridge out. I also really love the Compatible Refills button on your site! There's been a lot of pens where it genuinely surprises me how many refills they take.
My favourite body now is the uni-ball signo RT1 but my favourite refill is the Pentel Energel 0.5. Match made in heaven, so comfy for my grip and the Energel ink is so beautiful. I have so many Zebra Sarasa bodies too and one Clena… but the grip on that hurts because i hold my pen in a way that the grip part on the clena actually hurts my finger. 😢 It is a very pretty body but I just can’t use it, even if I love it.
Yeah, no...the addiction is strong, so unless the pen explodes in ink, I've always had a hard time tossing them. Lol, and even then it weirdly feels like a bit of a struggle.
I bought the BigiDesign Ultra for this exact reason. One Pen To Rule Them All. ANY ballpoint or roller refill, AND a fountain pen with swappable nib units that takes Standard International?! Sign Me Up! I was able to install other companies' nib units into it as well. Moonman nib units, for example, worked fine in the pen. I have not tried JoWo nib units yet, as they have an appreciably different design, and I hesitate to buy a product I might not be able to use. Bonus points, the Bock nib units can be disassembled relatively easily for deep cleaning and hacking/nib swaps. I don't have any #6 nibs laying around though, so I haven't played around with swapping yet.
An interesting pen/refill combo I've done is a Fisher universal pressurised refill (U4F) in a Zebra T3 mini pen body. The refill can be snapped to D1 size or left long to fit in various multi-pens, it's a different size than the standard Fisher PR refill and it seems JetPens doesn't stock it. You end up with a micro space pen that can click and has a clip, and much lighter too. The refill friction fit well but required a bit of modding to the nose cap of the pen to make the hole a little wider, I just used the awl on my swiss army knife to do so. You might be able to put it in other D1 based mini pens such as the Ohto Minimo but I haven't tested them myself. I have to say the compliment JetPens on how useful the website is for looking for refills, I've used it many times.
I actually found out that the Pilot Acroball Standard Ballpoint Pen can actually be refilled in 2 ways 1 of them is the grip section and top body separate and the other method is the nose cone and the grip and top together similar to the Uni Jetstream. Personally, I find the first method much easier in case the spring flies while screwing back in the second method. So, the Pilot Acroball can be refilled in 2 ways.
I really like Zebra Sarasa bodies, but in my country it's hard to find refills for them. So I buy Pentel Energel refills, which are easy to get, and put them in Zebra Sarasa pens. They fit perfectly and have similar feeling when writing.
Hi there! You can find the Pilot FriXion Ball Knock Zone on our site here: www.jetpens.com/Pilot-FriXion-Ball-Knock-Zone-Retractable-Gel-Pens/ct/6729 We also talk about the Ball Knock Zone in our video here: ua-cam.com/video/u0BdBZPHMn4/v-deo.html
Hi there! You can check to see if we carry your pens on our site, then check to see what refills are compatible with the body. For example, on this product page, you can click "Recommended Refills/Parts" to see all the compatible refills/parts: www.jetpens.com/Uni-Jetstream-Ballpoint-Pen-0.7-mm-Alpha-Gel-Grip-Series-Black-Body/pd/2775 Similarly, just do that for whichever pens you'd like to refill in your personal collection. It's definitely more cost-effective than purchasing new pen replacements!
Hi there! You can find compatible refills by clicking on the Recommended Refills/Parts section for your pen: www.jetpens.com/Uni-ball-Signo-UM-151-Gel-Pen-0.5-mm-Black/pd/3246/refills
Hi, sorry just a question for your website. 1) Do you ship to Canada? 2) How much shipping fee? Is it the same as the US? (Above $35 orders = free shipping) Thanks so much!
they DO ship to canada, but i believe the $35 free shipping deal is exclusive to the US since jetpens is based in california that might be wrong though so id say theres no harm in testing it out before you pay for an order
Fortunately Jetpens has a shipping calculator, and I almost guarantee they do ship to Canada. Stuff the stuff you want into your cart, then on the right side go to Shipping Calculator and type in your info. Unfortunately Dani is correct in that they do not ship free outside of the US. You will have to pay for your shipping.
anyone know how to refill the sakura ballsign id pen?? its so difficult and i bought like 3 refills.. so i really REALLY dont want this to go to waste.. someone please help 🙏🙏🙏

If its a fountain pen, it would void warranty...sounds fun, though.
@@vcrouch6041 If you're buying fountain pens fancy enough to have warranty, it's best to leave them alone 😋
Watch the Frankenpen episode. I routinely put new fave refills into older bodies that feel good in my hand.
I put a cello refill worth 2rupees in my Parker vector gold 😅.

Where to buy sarasa dry refill 0.5mm? Tq
I've always liked mixing up my pens. My favourite right now is a Uni Jetstream refill in a Zebra Sarasa clip body.
By the time I open the pen, the spring goes falling down and I’m on my knees trying to find it.😅
Open it over a bowl that can catch the spring! That way it can't roll away from you.

Why the frixion comes so tightly screwed? 😢 I was afraid too, but managed to get it right after a lot of anxiety.
Omg..... I love my frixion multi pen!!!
We appreciate content like this. Keep up the good work

omg the intro 😂
Thank you for the Boxy 100 instructions. I struggled the last time I replaced the refill.

I found an old Bic Gelocity, and I tried swapping its refill with a Sharpie S-Gel. It turns out the refills are completely interchangeable.
It's so satisfying to run out of ink and replace it 🙌
I put the pentel energel refill in the Uni Jetstream Pen.
I only wish I could keep a pen long enough to write it out.
You guys are the best! Thanks for this informative video…now, I just have to get over my guilt of the pens I have thrown away!!😮😅
I really like Zebra Sarasa bodies, but in my country it's hard to find refills for them. So I buy Pentel Energel refills, which are easy to get, and put them in Zebra Sarasa pens. They fit perfectly and have similar feeling when writing.
I used to put refills worth 2 rupees in my Parker vector gold 😅.
I just threw away pens this morning because the ink dried and I didn't like the consistency anyway....might check up compatibles parts
Hack gel refill to work with Montblanc ballpoint pen. 🙂
I just bought a crap ton of refills from the site, don’t make me buy more…..

I would like to fill up the refill with ink. I tried with fountain pen ink but sometimes there are leaks.
Ok. I'm getting more pens yay. I might have ideas.;)
A MONEY SAVER! The BOXY is refillable!! Who Knew? Thanks, JETPENS!!!!
Can refills be recycled there is too much single use plastic and metal in stationary. This area need revolutionary thinking
Please show refill comparible with zebra multi pen such as sarasa 3+ or surari
This is the way I refilled my pen. I just added water in the ink thing and then it was back to ink.
I have about 20 nice pens that need refills--how do I know what to order? Is it reasonable cost wise?

Wow, the answer to "how to refill pens" is really just to open the pen and insert the refill, who would guess!
awesome 😊
