You know, in hindsight, this is pretty funny. All the other robot masters have tragic tales or sympathetic stories, and Metal Man's just a cocky bastard who throws saw blades.
Who needs emotions when you've got possibly the 2nd most broken ability in the series? Would you rather tell a sob story or TAKE SOMEBODIES FUCKIN HEAD OFF?! Ahem. Sorry.

Doug Gleed Quick Boomerang. Uses even less weapon energy, hits enemies on the way back, and can be rapid-fired.
I've personally never really used Quick Boomerang. Metal Blade is my favorite, with 124 uses not counting energy pellets, able to fire in any direction.
Icesera Wings Never used Quick Boomerang? Mecha Dragon must've given you hell. You can fire even more Boomerangs than that, though the exact number escapes me. Because of how disgustingly spammable they are, I've never found a reason to use the Mega Buster.

beating the entire game with just the buster as a kid was a pain in the arse..but just surviving against metal man just to here his background music and blow him up when it ends ...priceless.
metalman's level song was always my favorite... this just made it better!
My friend said that when he first played this level, he thought that those corn cob drill things were actually Crash Man trying to kill him through the floor.

Metal Man always seemed like the most aggressive of the Masters in 2. I mean, he goes right after you at the start of the fight, leaping into the air and tossing blades at you. I get the feeling that this song is more akin to Carved From Mighty Oak, in which it's saying "Come and get me if you think you're good enough."
He just jumps around the room and throws a metal blade at the peak of his jump. At least that's what he does if you know how to fight him
This, and Man on Fire are the best songs these guys sing. Not that the others suck, just those two stand out the most in my mind.
For Metalman I think in the story he kills himself on the wish that he gets rebuilt in the peaceful world megaman described.

The lasers aren't hard. You just have to hug the walls when you drop down.

Metal Man on Difficult Mode has got to be one of the harder robot masters to beat in the series - your buster does very little damage, he dances around like crazy, actually attacks after you do, and his conveyor belt changes back and forth, making you adjust to a different attack pattern on the fly. Once you get used to him, he's not that bad, but the first time I played him, I was 7 and he owned my ass
Have you ever tried to get close to him? He really isn't that hard. Also, the mega buster doesn't do "very little damage" it does the exact same ammount of damage that it does to most robot masters.
Seems a bit more after paying some attention to the lyrics, he just wants a worthy opponent before this is all over and he's trying to bait Mega Man into being said worthy opponent as that's all he's getting.

Really nice timing with the lyrics there. The line about conveyor belts came just as you entered the part of the stage which basically only conveyors, and as "it's coming down to the hour of the fight", you entered the boss corridor. Made this vid all the better. :)
I know I'm probably quite sad but...I just love looking at the levels in megaman! Its been a while, I forgot how brilliant there were! I always remember getting so pissed off when young when the character would glitch a bit and disappear for a fraction of a second, because it always confused me and usually led to something irritating happeninging involving my death. This music goes really well with it...definitely the best megas song I have heard so far (:

Wrong stage.
No, just run straight through. Don't go for any of the power-ups because they delay you enough so that the lasers get you. And if you save the time stopper until you fight Quick Man and use it on him, I believe it takes away half of his health.
@Supahx Me too, I always get killed by the same exact pillar, I think I have to use the time-stopping power, but I'm not sure

True... still, it feels like there's more potential for Metal Man. Like, maybe try to go into WHY he's so angry. Like, with Flashman's song, they got into how Flashman had an inferiority complex, and just wanted a friend, rather than focus on the soul aspect of how he wasn't a very good fighter.
It was still a great song, it just feels like they could have done a bit more with it.

Hold on, I just checked. Metal Man attacks after each time you shoot or when you get too close to him.

@WhiteKrowe he really isn't so bad because, ok obviously when you get close to him he jumps to the other side but you can actually abuse this when he jumps to the other side quickly go back to him, keep doing that as you shoot at him and he's stuck on an endless loop, he will shoot metal blades at you but they'll miss more than half the time
