I am new to growing from seed, and have watched countless hours of growing/harvesting/arranging videos. I love your approach in this video from start to finish!!! Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to share with us!
You have made the perfect training bouquet for new staff. I hope you don't mind but I have just shared this with my right hand woman that has come on board to help with harvesting and bouquet making. Watching again from Ireland.
I'm definitely more into the design part of floristry with the flower's that I'm growing. But this video is still relevant to me, very educational and honest. It teaches me to look rationally on your work and not just from an artistic angle. Thank you 😊
My Frist year growing flowers so hopefully next year will be bigger and be able to cut for bouquets to sale to help pay for some of my costs Thanks for sharing I live in Yukon Oklahoma
U line has precut sheets that may be cheaper than Amazon. Love your videos! Thank you as I think through how I might be able to do a flower stand. I so appreciate your expertise.
This was such a generous and informative video. It makes so much sense. You are smart to limit what you grow, and grow a lot of those few things. Thank you.
I am entering my second year of flower farming and there is so much good information out there but not nearly enough on marketing and efficiency, and that is exactly what I needed to hear. I would love to hear how you succession sow (my other downfall). I've subscribed, so now I have the fun job of watching everything you have! (I also home schooled by nine kids but they are all adults now.) Blessings, from Vancouver Island.
I agree Linda! In our latest live video, I talk about how we succession plan and my thoughts on it in general if you would like to watch that video. 9, wow! What a legacy :)
This is so incredibly helpful! I’m hoping to have floral bouquets on my first year farm stand and this was exactly what I needed to see. I’ve spent the last 5 years selling vegetable starts then donating my excess veggies in the summer. This year I’m adding a stand to the mini farm.
Rich Farms and Flower Co here! Love all of your videos and this was by far my favorite! I enjoyed seeing your process and your comments were spot on. Keep the videos coming.
Thank you so much for making these videos, as a new farmer I very much appreciate the effort you put into sharing your knowledge. Have you ever run out of water in any of the buckets from extremely thirsty stems? I live off farm and am wondering about cutting and storing overnight. So far I've been using a cooler and having an awful time with it losing a lot of precious stems. Looking into making a flower cottage such as yours!
New to your channel and I'm in love with your potting shed! Is there any chance you could do a video of the interior/exterior? Trying to talk my husband into building one for our flower farm and nursery ☺
How do you come up with your bouquet recipes? I’d love a video on the process of how you decide each week. You do such a fantastic job at these videos, so thank you so much!
So helpful. Thank you! I just had to log in to comment and ask a quick question. Do you always leave that much foliage on your zinnias and marigolds? I’ve been stripping them right back, but for market bouquets the extra green looks great. Thanks again for all of your incredibly helpful content 😊
Thank-you so much for sharing your process. We started up our native flower farm in Monarto South Australia 18 months ago. We are hoping to specialise in Banksia’s in time. You have given me some ideas on how l can make a start with our proteas, leucadendrons & abundant foliage for our farm stand and markets in the future. Thanks again you have given me the confidence to move forward 😃

Hi! This is great. I live in the city and am not sure if i can have a stand (if the city allows it) and am a little afraid to bring too much traffic through. Also, not sure what the neighbors will think! I'm just in my second year and am figuring out how to sell my flowers. I still work full time, but hope to make a second salary with flowers. So, thank you for sharing your tips!
I am in the exact same position. I don't know if the city would allow a stand in front of my house....but I am still in my first year and I am still learning about growing flowers....selling is probably a "in 2 years" problem lol
Great video! Thanks for sharing! What marigold variety are those? Such a beautiful color! I grew the giant yellow and orange this year but I really love the color of yours.
Can i suggest a rack on the wall to mount the roll of paper then unroll to cut. 😊 I am learning so much. For now i am just trying to see if growing flowers is a hobby or something more. ❤
Nice! What is the posted speed limit on your main road there? Our driveway is off a highway, and traffic usually goes by at 80km/hr or more. I'm not sure I should even be considering a roadside stand. 😂
There is nothing posted. It *should* be about 35 but I would say average is 45. But since people pull into our drive thru area they are off the road when they are shopping
Wouldn ´t it be easier to have a bench with rolls, have the buckets to select the stems for the bouquets and when your done with the flowers put/roll it underneath your table? Watch your back for health issues😀 your videos are awesome. Very enjoyable! Do you know YT channel „You can ´ t it the grass“ a flower farm in Canada. You are very efficient with your work👍Congrats!
the time vs. profit you keep mentioning is a sad reminder for me! I've been selling 5-focal-stem $5 bouquets (mainly dahlias, roses and lilies) for 5 years (because people seem too cheap to find more money even when I tried selling at $10) and they seem SO underpriced now. Often people just give spare change, too, and don't even pay $5! Any advice? I'm in British Columbia. Thanks.
Hmm that’s tricky. I’d say they’re not your customers and you need to find where the people with more discretionary income are shopping and how to reach them. Salons, cafes, wineries etc
Ive learned not to fuss too much with presentation. The blooms speak for themselves, and people arrange them the way they want when they get home. Dont get me wrong, i make it look nice, but i wasted so much time.

There are quite a few of us on this channel from VI. I’m in Nanoose:)
I want to thank you for showing your process. I implemented a couple of new ideas from watching you, including cutting on leftover flooring. Lol.

i am so glad this was helpful! Thank you :)
Great video..this has got to be the all around best video I’ve watched on practical bouquet making..thank you!
Ahh thank you!
Great video! I'm in my 4th year selling, and I learned some new techniques!!! Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for this feedback! I certainly look forward to continuing learning as I get more experience :)
Hi , do you know the thickness of the craft paper you use for the flowers wrapping.
Or even a link to the one you buy. Thanks

So helpful! A thousand thanks!❤
You’re very welcome Carol!
Can't wait for my blooms to start!
"not like a Rumba..." Love that!!
Thanks! Similar to what I do at Petal Patch Flower Farm!
New to this channel. You are simply amazing! I learned so much!!!
Oh thank you Vicki!
I love your system. I will apply it if ever will do flowers for sale.
Thank you for sharing! I am going to try your method this year. I end up spending so much time with this part.
Amazing lesson.thanks😊
I've been binging your videos this week. Thank you so much, this has been so incredibly helpful!
Yay!!
You’re exactly what I was looking for 🎉thank you
After you have wrapped the bouquets, do you put them in water to preserve freshness? Doesn't the paper wrap get in the water?
Thank you for sharing your expertise!!!
New Subscriber here, what a fantastic video, super helpful, concise and I learned alot new!
Which marigold do you grow?
New to your channel and I'm in love with your potting shed! Is there any chance you could do a video of the interior/exterior? Trying to talk my husband into building one for our flower farm and nursery ☺
That would be good! I know I talk about the interior somewhere in videos and I am trying to figure out which one it was lol
Do you put water in the bucket after you wrap them all? Just curious…
Have you considered getting a table top kraft paper roll dispenser - so much quicker to cut paper...
That would be really smart!
I had the same thought, so I looked them up. Most have a mounting hole so you could screw it down as well. Around 40 dollars online.
Great Tutorial, Thank you! Could you share the size of your buckets, please? - Assuming 2 GAL?
Yep!
Loved this video! Do you have a breakdown of how you price each flower?
in my head I do 🙃
This was worth watching,I have learned from that!😄So hopefully I can be more efficient in my tasks! Thanks for your time.
that is awesome to hear Sonya!
This is so great!
Thank you Sarah!
Thank you so so much. What height is your bouquet on average??
How do you come up with your bouquet recipes? I’d love a video on the process of how you decide each week. You do such a fantastic job at these videos, so thank you so much!
I actually decided recently that we will make a “bouquet recipe” video! Good off season content ☺️
So helpful. Thank you! I just had to log in to comment and ask a quick question. Do you always leave that much foliage on your zinnias and marigolds? I’ve been stripping them right back, but for market bouquets the extra green looks great. Thanks again for all of your incredibly helpful content 😊
Yeah I do. I like the extra greenery, doesn’t effect vase life, and saves me time
Thank you so much for this video! It is very helpful.
I’m so glad!
Thank you that was helpful. Do you pinch the basil?
Thank you! Yes I keep pinching it for awhile until it starts really branching. Then I can get the stem length how I want it

Very informative. What variety of marigolds are in the video?
Crackerjack :)

Thank you! You could consider selling subscriptions and better control pick up time volume from a stand :)
Bring more gardens to cities!!! Talk to local city council. We need more green in cities
@@CoramDeoFarm I was nervous about having enough stems. :D But, possibly in the future for sure! Thanks for responding!
@@usafballer79 Agreed!

Are you using any florafresh or other additives in the buckets at all stages from harvest to marketplace?
Nope
Great video! Thanks for sharing! What marigold variety are those? Such a beautiful color! I grew the giant yellow and orange this year but I really love the color of yours.
Thank you! It is Coco Gold
@@CoramDeoFarm thought so…thanks!
Are preservative packets included?
No that would be an unnecessary extra expense

That could be really smart! I should probs start getting stuff off the floor lol
Молодцы! Красивые букеты. Бумага размер напишите пожалуйста. Ато я не понимаю вас. Просто смотрю.
I assume that you put an inch of water in the market bucket so they stay fresh, while in the stand?
Yep
What size are your rubber bands?
🤷♀️
@@CoramDeoFarm ok thanks☺️
Where do you buy the paper to wrap your bouquets?
amazon

Completely agree!
You need a chopper that will cut the entire bouquet at the end. There is one for florists that resembles a paper cutter.
Too much talk,,,,,,,,
