7 years old n still remember it and the amazing Marcia Hines by chance I passed by her last month near Town Hall she was on her phone n i told her we love her n she stopped talking on the phone to say "thankyou darling"
I would have given anything to see this young American powerhouse of music and the sound that came from this teenager was incredible no wonder Marcia Hines along with John English were voted King and Queen of pops Australia a title they were to not willing to give over to some other duo for 3 or so year's in a row thank's for contributing to the musical landscape of your adopted country Australia thanks Marcia. I was blessed with hearing Marcia and Deni Hines singing Ain't No Sunshine together what a combo both Hines Girls voices complimented the other's voice and the way they each controlled the way they both sounded both individually and together getting back to Marcia and the evolution of her voice from what I'd call a Blue'sy style of Disco such as You , Shining, Your love still brings me to my knees and so forth thank's again Marcia for choosing Australia as your adopted country to live we are blessed to have you love always Wayne

i know Michelle Fawdon version from the original cast album, but I saw it when it returned to Sydney with Marcia at the Capitol and all us kids in myfamily fell in love with Marcia....I was but 7 yrs old

Hi ilreput1, a colleague was a sound operator on this show, I never saw it but friends used to rave about it, I hear why, was this recorded reel to reel? 4 channel Shure mixers were used I believe to create 32 chans.
I have the cast album with Trevor White, John English yet Marcia isn’t on the album. It’s a shame because the artist in her place is awful on record. Trevor White (for my money) was a fantastic Jesus. Phrasing was terrific!
Yeah agreed, but I heard singing it live on multiple occasions (I was assisting with the lighting), and there was nothing safe or restrained about that performance. Really wish someone had recorded it, because she can totally rock this song and did night after night.

Marcia came into my work once and gave me a bag of lollies (Red & Green frogs) and said it was to cheer me up !!

Marcia is definitely a great singer, but she took over the role of Mary Magdeline in 1973. Michelle Fawdon played the part in 1972.
