Mr. Spaghettios I think that there is a lot of misinformation out there. my whole life I’ve been told that my hair is course I only found out otherwise after doing research. When you look at products geared towards straight hair and they say fine on the bottle products geared towards Africanized hair usually say course.

Ikr this is funny because my sister and I have different dads (Our mom and her dad both has straight hair, so its bone straight.) And our mom and my dad my mom has straight hair and my dad has realllyyy kinky hair. So then BAM. I came out with really mixed hair. I have like 3b in the front and like 4a in the back. Idk much about hair types but all I can tell you is that its really poofy and veryyy kinky in the back. So i got a relaxer a few times, maybe once every year or two years. (Now I stopped and is transitiong) Mk anyways my sister and I went ro great clips to get a hair wash. So she went first and got her hair washed, combed out, and blowdryed. Then it was my turn. My hair got washed, of course. But when I was done, instead of her even attempting to brush it, she handed me a pick. Like the pick you use to fluff out your hair. Which is not used for detangling. I was young at the time, about a year and a half ago, and knew nothing about hair. So i was like "Idk how to brush it." So to sum it up she didnt brush it at all. That was so messed up.

I learned a long time ago (thanks to a South Sudanese friend in law school) that if I wanted to learn how to take care of my curly hair properly, to listen to black women!
I’ve not looked back since, and my hair is actually healthier now than it was (even though I’ve been bleaching it and dyeing it crazy colours). The only issue- I get so jealous about just how versatile natural hair is, and all the amazing hair styles they can pull off! Hair styles I won’t go anywhere near, because most of them have a deep cultural tradition that I just don’t have a right to. But I still admire them. I’ll sit watching hours of braiding videos- which is actually how I learned how to French and Dutch braid my own hair (I just stick to one or two braids, and never more than that).
Natural hair channels are awesome! I’ll be watching them forever. My current favourite is GEM Naturals, she’s such a sweetie and has the bubbliest, loveliest personality, and her editing skills are top notch! To the point that I actually thought she had an identical twin. Highly recommend her channel!

Wait a minute. Shoulder length hair isn’t even “long in the black community.” Please stop acting like we’re all bald headed or have “struggle hair” that we can’t grow past our ears. I have 4C hair and it’s longer than waist length. Can we quit acting like 4C hair doesn’t/can’t grow long - and not “long in the black community” long, but long by the actual definition. Our hair grows just as well as anyone else’s. Length retention, however, is a different story because 4C hair shrinks and tangles so easily. Anyways, what he meant when he said her hair was long was, based on the length her hair appeared while shrunken, he was surprised it was the actual length it turned out to be. He made the same remark about the first girl’s hair.

"Because Nature doesn't like good hair." The beginning of this vid already had me absolutely shooketh from how educated, respectful, and in love you are with black hair. I was also already going to hit the subscribe button regardless; but the fact that you even vaguely said black women have good hair, completely won my heart. I rarely hear my people say that we have good hair, so this definitely turned me into a believer. Congrats on being the first UA-camr that I clicked the bell for so I can receive notifications. I look forward to seeing your future material and I thank you for being a non-POC creating wonderful content for us POC ladies that just don't see enough of this quality material.

Woman from Ireland here - I've always thought black hair is great hair, I get it that sometimes it can be hard work but it's great hair. I've always wanted it, but my dna doesn't allow it, unfortunately, I'm stuck with my straight, fine but loads of it hair and unfortunately, my DNA also means that like my mum, I'm going to lose a lot of hair as I get older, I'm 47 now and already I notice that it's thinning. Anyway, ladies - you have great hair! Much love from Ireland!!

Ethnic hair is one of my favorite hairs in the world!!! I have naturally curly hair with me being a red head my hair is super thick and curly, I was in cosmo class all through highschool and I would do hair for this young girl in CDC classes . She had beautiful hair, and I’d do little braids in her hair and I trimmed it a couple times, it make me so happy to see her smile, not only was she bullied for being in special classes but also because her hair was always natural but I told her I’d never put heat on my hair that year if shes come into the cosmo room and let me make it beautiful and she wear her hair natural. ( it was already beautiful only thing I did was define the curls) I miss her to this day!!!!

I am a Latina with a mixed textured hair, meaning that it is mostly curly, straight on the outside of the left, an wavy on the outside of the right, meaning it's mistreated. Now I'm trying my best to treat my hair. I just wish I had an afro like some Dominican girls I see (Dominican Republic is where I live) because their hair is soooooo beautiful. I know that it is wery unlikely for a white Latina to get afro, but I just wish to have that kind of hair that black girls have.

I have fine, 2B-3A hair and I honestly agree. I can split my hair into four sections and blow-dry it straight QUICKLY with a hot-air brush. I get everyone's hair is different and hair can be a persnickety thing, but I also feel a lot of people that complain about having hair that's impossible to straighten are either NOT tending to their hair properly or NOT using proper techniques.
I had a friend that always complained about her 3A hair being too curly and unruly... But she was using a patchy, old flat-iron on processed hair with no heat protectant. She did not section her hair when doing it. Her hair constantly had a lot of build-up, a lot of breakage. She rarely moisturized, nor did she use oils to seal in the moisture.
