Actually, their second album, the first one (self-titled) is basically forgotten even by the fans of the band mostly. As for the, sort of, disregard for "Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers", I have a little story to tell: back in 2019 in Cologne Germany, I held up a sign request that said "Available", I used a too small of a piece of paper, though Matt still noticed it and asked for paper to be passed over to him - when he received and read it - he said these words: "Not this song, it was written by an angry person and I'm not that person anymore". And while with other artists/bands I, sometimes, tend to naively question things like that - with the nature of The National songs and lyrics I can understand how hard certain songs might be on him even 20 years later. It's still good to hear that they dusted off "Murder Me Rachael", surely one of my favourites as well.
@@vladislavslazykaraoke yeah I meant to say their second album, a lot of people don’t like it but it’s personally my favorite. but that’s actually pretty cool, how was the overall experience? Might go see them in November ish but I’m not really sure yet since the end of the year is always packed for me
@@AngellisgodI've seen The National 5 times so far, and never ever was I disappointed, if you love their music - definitely make the time to see them and don't have any doubts, it will be one of the best live show experiences that you might have or had had.
I don't know how you managed to shoot this whole thing -- I lost my mind on that outro -- but thank you!
AMMMMAZING…two of my most favorite songs. I couldn’t make it out for this year’s tour - thank you so much for posting! ❤
HOLY SHIT
They genuinely hate the first album lmao, 4 days and they only played 1 track from it from what I’ve heard

Genuinely, I don't think Matt remembers those lyrics
@@Thfcspurs88 He’s got lyrics on a prompter on stage - that’s not the problem. He just doesn’t want to go there
