i love hows theres that one sound guy trying to figure out whats causing the feedback
Amazing
Hope that beautiful drumming is on the final track! Incredible
This song is just phenomenal. I honestly like this and "Space Invader" more than anything on the new album. They are recording this week in Oregon, FYI.
Same
HOLY SHIT
They genuinely hate the first album lmao, 4 days and they only played 1 track from it from what I’ve heard
Actually, their second album, the first one (self-titled) is basically forgotten even by the fans of the band mostly. As for the, sort of, disregard for "Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers", I have a little story to tell: back in 2019 in Cologne Germany, I held up a sign request that said "Available", I used a too small of a piece of paper, though Matt still noticed it and asked for paper to be passed over to him - when he received and read it - he said these words: "Not this song, it was written by an angry person and I'm not that person anymore". And while with other artists/bands I, sometimes, tend to naively question things like that - with the nature of The National songs and lyrics I can understand how hard certain songs might be on him even 20 years later. It's still good to hear that they dusted off "Murder Me Rachael", surely one of my favourites as well.
@@vladislavslazykaraoke yeah I meant to say their second album, a lot of people don’t like it but it’s personally my favorite. but that’s actually pretty cool, how was the overall experience? Might go see them in November ish but I’m not really sure yet since the end of the year is always packed for me
@@AngellisgodI've seen The National 5 times so far, and never ever was I disappointed, if you love their music - definitely make the time to see them and don't have any doubts, it will be one of the best live show experiences that you might have or had had.
Genuinely, I don't think Matt remembers those lyrics
@@Thfcspurs88 He’s got lyrics on a prompter on stage - that’s not the problem. He just doesn’t want to go there
AMMMMAZING…two of my most favorite songs. I couldn’t make it out for this year’s tour - thank you so much for posting! ❤
I don't know how you managed to shoot this whole thing -- I lost my mind on that outro -- but thank you!
THANK YOU for sharing!
this rules
They just headlined Red Rocks last night. Still such an amazing and passionate band.
Glad to see that REM called it quits. These old fucks got too political - they should leave politics out of music.
Bjork did it better
great show
this looks like it was shot on film in the 80's. looks really good
this is a dream come true :O
Sick tee.
I wish McCain had become our president. :(
"We Are the Universe is what it is called they made it...
The security guards in the front gave me the official set list :) and the first song was just called Intro so im assuming its not an official song.
The intro is called we are the universe...
That would be awesome. Especially when Obama winds up sending 40,000 more troops to Afghanistan. Then Michael would really know what a "Bad Day" is. Seriously people - wake up. Obama has FAILED to get us out of Iraq and Afghanistan. He's actually ratcheted up the hostility. It's amazing to me how many people are blind to this.
Bunch of traitors. Hillary would have been twice the president that Obama is.
What he really said was..."I've got some pretty good news. A piece of shit COMMUNIST is going to be the next president! Here's a song called 'Its The End Of The World As We Know It.'"
I prefer to get my major accouncements from Michael Stipe... I think that REM should have a news show like in the video for Bad Day and just actually be real. They would sing of course. Maybe Michael will wear a skirt of sorts. Love you Michael!
i had never heard of them before the concert, but i actually really enjoyed them.
I was there woot woot! great show, R.E.M was awesome later as well
I love The National. Boxer was my personal #1 album of 2007, above In Rainbows at #2. I saw them open for Arcade Fire at Radio City in NY in 2007, an unforgettable show. My daughter just moved to Brooklyn, music center of the universe! A fantastic band. REM fan since 1982.
another thanks for posting this, great moment in history!
This is awesome! Thank you for posting it! Any chance you have a video of the talking Stipe did before the last song?...when he was calling people out in the audience?
Brilliant video :)
