Much respect to you Brian. Appreciate you sharing your footage and your personal reflections. A lot of beautiful moments here, particularly the montage at 32:00 of these tributes to Lazar. You shared sentiments that each individual is going to handle this different based on their relation to Lazar, and that's understandable. Everyone grieves differently and will process in their own way. And continued online actions will be remembered. There have been some athletes and Crossfit related individuals who've been callous and disgraceful around this. Hope their peers continue to call them out on their lack of humanity
Weeks later and it is still heartbreaking when you get to the place in the video where Lazar has drowned. I find it hard to go on after that. The fact that he drowned without anyone from CrossFit even noticing that he struggled and went under will haunt a lot of people for a very long time.
The investigation is still ongoing so some things I imagine he doesn’t want to discuss yet. However if you watch the World Tour Update episode he discloses some of that information, the information he got from his conversations with Luka that he eventually disclosed on Instagram.
Sprague and his family are just wrong. They are actually disturbing. A human died, yes you believe he’s gone to a better place according to you. his family are still freaking grieving. James Sprague will never be the CrossFit games champ
@@PCtheCrazyAsian … and you determined that how… you realize that when asked a question like what do you want you could get a variety of responses that all are saying the same thing . Ie you could get , sure, yes, IDONT CARE WHAT YOU DO! All of those responses give a response of being ok to move forward ie blessing . People are getting hung up on the semantics of Blessing. Did you actually hear the “word” Blessing get said to Brian or was it sure I’m fine with, it’s fine, yeah no worries or hey let’s do it. So you see those would all be an affirmation / blessing as well. Why is everyone hung up on this which plays zero part in anything that happened causing a horrible tragedy or effect on anything.
@@kenwalters5165 I think everyone would agree that had nothing to do with the tragedy. It’s how that tragedy was manipulated. Dave admitted he essentially lied about that Luka “gave his blessings” to continue the Games when the fact was it didn’t matter if he did or not as Luka said it himself it didn’t matter as Dave said it wasn’t his decision and the Games were going on (according to Luka’s account). Then Dave went and misled the athletes into saying that the Games were going on due to the wishes and blessings of his family. Dave knew if he would have stated what really happened and that the Games were going on with or without Luka’s and the family’s blessing more athletes wouldn’t have competed. The athletes who decided immediately not to compete (Horvath, Freyova, the Walleye team) knew that Dave manipulated the situation. And has the competition continued and it was found out that Dave lied some athletes removed themselves from the competition. So in this case semantics do matter especially when you manipulate a tragedy for your own gain under false pretenses. But hey, I’m not here to change your mind, it’s already decided, and the truth doesn’t matter to some people.
@@kenwalters5165 doesn't matter at all. Even if he did misinterpret his first conversation, he stopped after their second conversation to honor Luca's wishes. There's no issue with someone making a simple mistake. There is a problem when someone repeatedly defies and disrespects a grieving family's wishes even after finding out that there was an initial miscommunication.
Its amazing how many athletes went ugly with their mourning. Why couldn't they just honour Lazar in love and unity. The way Lazar died was a terrible terrible situation but the way many behaved was just a dishonor to Lazars amazing strong fit happy fighter mentality . I doubt Lazar is looking down from heaven and proud of PFAA and all the people who chose to turn his death into a take out crossfit games programmer dave protest . Very shocking. Crossfitter s don't seem very strong at all when you see such nasty targeted emotional behavior they exhibited during this years crossfit games. And coming from mostly veteran athletes shame shame on them. I'm hoping they never get to compete at the games again they clearly have issues and have used the tragic death of Lazar to take down whom they feel is a hindrance to their wins at the games . Shame.on them. All the athletes community that mourned Lazar in love and strength blessings to them all❤
Lazar and Luka are part of the PFAA and the PFAA have been in constant discussion with Luka through all their decisions. Don’t comment on something you clearly have no idea about.
Every time I watch one of these I just want to reach through the screen and stop lazar from running.
